Pretty straight forward piece of material. Works really well. Pro tip....pirchase a T bevel and measure each stair every time. Almost made a fatal mistake putting mine it. All in all i couldnt be happier. We removed 29 year old carpet and these stair caps brought it all together

This product looks nice when completed, and matches the Marigold Oak Pergo Outlast+ pretty well (barely darker). But I had installation difficulties that were unanticipated. For example, a standard 12" miter saw (non-sliding) won't be able to cut the entire width. In my small town, there was NO ONE with a sliding miter saw for rent, so I had to make do with a homemade fence made out of a 2x4. Even with the "laminate approved" circular saw blade, I could not prevent micro-chipping along the cut. I actually had better results using a jig saw with a laminate blade.
I had a landing with a 45* angle on it, and I didn't want a lump from a T-moulding transition, so I was frustrated that the thickness of the tread was not exactly the same as the Pergo laminate which it is supposed to coordinate with, and did not snap to the Pergo. The Cap-A-Tread is slightly thinner (like 1/6"?) than the Pergo, even with the Pergo pre-attached padding removed. Also, there is a stripe about 1/8-1/4" wide along the back of the tread that is not covered by the laminate. I covered the crack between the stair tread and the Pergo with wood putty, and it actually came out pretty well, but this should be considered by Cap-A-Tread in their manufacturing.
The quality/durability of the product is a little questionable since almost every piece had chips on the ends - luckily the ends could be trimmed, except for one piece that had to be re-ordered. The re-order took a month to come in! Seems the manufacturer needs to keep more product in stock.
All that complaining being said, I really like that this stair tread has a smooth bullnose and matches my flooring. That's why I still would recommend it. On a standard stair installation without a landing, and without angles, it would be fantastic and less difficult to install

Love my new steps. The finished product is beautiful. Lots of measuring but well worth it. Easier to cut than we thought. Be sure to buy a blade with alot of teeth. Looks like a professional did them. Lots of colors to choose from.

This cap a tread matched the marigold oak flooring perfectly. It’s a bit pricey but looks great and is a lot easier to install than other alternatives. Just make sure to measure and cut very carefully and make adjustments if your steps aren’t square.

Very easy project. I was using an old table saw, had no problems with kickback. The laminate surface chips during sawing, so i put masking tape over the area to be cut and that helped a little. Im just going to caulk over where the edge imperfections are.
