I wear these every day all year round. Good flexibility at work. No holes yet. No holes in the pockets either. I am grateful Carhartt has the sense to make theses shorts. I hate sitting on my wallet and the side pocket does the trick.

Pros: Nice knee-length utility shorts for tall people. Great value. Cons: Sizing inconsistencies. Firstly, I wear the same Digby rugged flex pants in a 34x36, but had to size up to a 36 waist in these shorts for the same fit. (Thanks to the previous comments.) Secondly, I bought two pairs of 36 shorts, and one of them had a “34” embroidered tag inside (and fit small) despite being tagged and bagged as “36” on the outside, so I had to return them. Unboxer beware. Bottom line: Sizing hassles aside, would buy again.

Excellent pair of shorts. The “stretch” in the material is perfect, not too much not too little. I’m 5’7” so I wish they came in a shorter inseam but the length in the pic is pretty accurate, a bit longer than I like but it wasn’t unexpected. If necessary I can have altered bc the fit and comfort are worth it.

I would give these 6 Stars (!) if they had a coin pocket and a 12" or 13" inseam (I'm 6'3" and prefer knee-length shorts). Instead, I buy the trouser-length version and hem them into shorts and make my own coin pocket. They fit comfortably, are cool enough even in beastly-hot Midwest summers, and deliver years of wear.

There a bit to long below the knees other than that they are great.

Needs a gusseted crotch. Tight in legs, but fits in waits well (true to 30"). Not as tough as their duck fabric.

Fits good. Wish they had some cargo pockets and weren't tapered so muck at the knee

I love these shorts. They fit comfortably and are very well designed and constructed.

I love the shorts I wear them all the time. They are comfortable and good and I would definitely recommend these shorts.

While the label said it had a 32" waist it was more like a 38" waist. I gave these to a larger waisted friend. On the other hand, everything but the size seemed to be a very high quality. I wish they had been the advertised size.

The shorts fit well and I like the heavy fabric. Fit and finish are very good as well.

These are built well but do fit tighter than the picture shows.

Carhartt sent me 32's but I ordered 34"s. Instead of sending them back I gave them to my nephew. I liked the length, color, and style. Just too tight with the wrong size. It's hard to rate them since I did not get to wear them.

I am a large person, I purchased these shorts on the promise of an accommodating fit and some flex in the fabric. Neither was delivered. The cut of the shorts was clearly meant for people of slim build, consequently the fit was close while standing, and binding when moving about. The fabric of the shorts is the standard cotton duck fabric of other Carhartt garments, it has absolutely no flex of any kind, in spite of the prominent labeling advertising said flex. So, caveat emptor! Try before you buy if you're able.

I really like these shorts. I like all Carhartt products and have never been disappointed!

This is my third pair of these shorts and I'd love to give them 5 stars, however the sizing varies too much from pair to pair. Length and waist sizes vary it seems depending on when you order. Ive experienced this with the pants as well. Consistency in sizing seems to be lacking unfortunately. Other than that these shorts are durable, clean looking and are a professional attire I can wear while meeting clients

Fits very well. 13 inch inseam means no short shorts

We were skeptical about the length, he normally prefers 17 inch but these were great. Maybe the difference is where they sit on the hips. Anyway great quality and will hold up with his tough outside job!

Would give 5 stars if Carhartt offered size 35 waist.

My husband loves these shorts! They're lightweight but very durable. He loves the length. He doesn't like anything that is short and lately he has had a hard time finding shorts that go below the knee. Carhartt is a go to brand for him as well so this was a perfect gift for him. After he loved the fit and style I went ahead and just got him the second color as well.
