As a long time Carharrt customer , I am surprised to be writing this review as I have always bought my husband's boots from Carharrt. He owns a towing business so I usually buy him 2 pairs a year as he does go through them but THIS has never happened. I bought these for Christmas so he barely got 2 months out of them . Not impressed as these are not cheap and he is going to need a new pair as they are literally falling apart.

I have worn my boots for one week when I got them. I waited for it to get cold again. I put my boots on for the winter months and after 30 days the rear soul of the boot has completely come off. It looks like there are two pieces of foam glued together or melted together. They come apart way too easily.

I have had these boots for 5 years. Humping through the snowy mountains of Vermont on the job. Taking them off and on tens of thousands of times in customers homes. They have gone under many houses, crawlspaces, and under porches. In knee walls and trenches. Put away so wet that my socks were soaked the next morning(step in knee high snow and any boot is gonna get wet). I've only had to change the laces on one boot. All I ask is that my boots hold up to the abuse I put them through. I wore them untied during the summer even, and the backside of the inner heel has just started to wear through. Only on one side again! They are waterproof, durable, comfortable and dang if they don't look good. I haven't even looked to buy a new boot since I got these and thank goodness I hadn't rubbed off the tag yet. I hope they're just as good 5 years later. I probably won't need a new pair until the end of this coming summer, still gonna stock up now!

The boots were one of the best investments that I made because when you're feet are warm and dry when you're working out in the elements that is so important.

On my second pair and I’ll be sending these back also. First pair had an eyelet pop out with less than a week of wear. This pair has torn along the back of the boot third stitch down from the top of the rubber heel guard. Splits all the way open where you can see your sock. Being an over the road truck driver I wear them all day (no not flip flops lol) and they are comfortable just not having luck of them holding together.

Probably the most comfortable boot I’ve had so far. Tried many and have been pretty pleased with them. I beat the snot out of them working as a mechanic. I’m also outdoors doing numerous things. Finally time for a new pair after 2 years.

Bought a pair in January 2021 with in a month where the heal meats the back of the boot ripped on both boots and my feet were getting wet from snow. Its a shame because they are so comfortable almost a year into them the rest of the boot is still holding up other then the heal will most likely go back to the wedge toe

Love these boots, switched from HAIX firefighting boots after retiring from Fire Dept. I have been using these boots exclusively the past few months and they are super comfortable and durable. The only suggestion I have is to add a pull loop on the back top ankle, and maybe heavier duty laces. I have been using these boots this winter for snow blowing, snowshoeing, and general working outside here in Tahoe City, Lake Tahoe, CA and never cold or wet even in snowy and slushy conditions. Granted the “cold” temps are in the 10-35ºF range, your results may differ in Alaska, Canada, etc! They have been warm, breathable, durable and waterproof. Our other property is a 19 acre ranch in Sunol, CA where it gets cold (16ºF) and muddy, and also very warm (106ºF) I am using them around the ranch daily, a lot of walking around and also building a barn, like I said they are super comfortable to wear all day from early morning to evening during typical work around the ranch and building construction, up and down ladders, etc. Very breathable and not too warm even with the insulation. I like the height for stability. The sizing is pretty accurate, for example I wear size 11 in Firefighting boots, a 12 in running shoes, and the 11.5 is perfect for everyday socks yet with enough room for thicker socks in winter

Quality sure isn't there. I have had this pair for less than a month now but after about a week I noticed the rubber on the front of the toe was already separating. I kinda expected more out of such a well known company. Right out of the box I had to replace the laces because one snapped as soon as I went to put them on

I bought these boots for my partner as a late Christmas gift because he couldn't decide which one to buy. He loves this boot. The best features seem to be comfort, fit, and warmth without getting sweaty feet. We have a small homestead in Northwoods, Wisconsin, and this time of year, we're doing tree management and cutting firewood. He's not worried about a log or tree limb falling on his feet because I could stand on the toe, and he didn't feel a thing. If you're an outdoorsman or a Northwoodsman, you need this boot in your life. And I love how he looks in these boots--like a sexy, masculine, bearded man. But then again, I love men on tractors, too, so...

The toung is to tight, hard time trying to get your foot in and no finger loop to pull the back up. Otherwise good pair of boots so far

Far more durable than more expensive brands - Danner and Red Wing, specifically. The only issue I have ever had with Carhartt brand boots is that the break-in process is extremely brutal. Takes a couple of weeks and feels like the boots are far too small. But once it is over, they are amazingly comfortable.

These boots so far are really good plenty of foot room which I have had problems in the past so far so good

The comfort and longevity of this boot is among the best.

Great boots for the winter time! Comfortable fit. I have had issues with the narrowness of many composite toe boots, but these are good. I am hoping there is a non-insulated version of this boot, but I haven't been able to find it on the web site yet. Any help?

These are great looking boots, I normally wear Matterhorn insulated boots for the tough winters in the U P of Michigan. This is my first winter with these Carhartt boots. The good news: they're water proof and have a great grip with the non-slip soles. But there's bad news, too: even with M width, the toe box is too wide…and this seems to be getting worse as they break in, plus the shoe laces are starting to fray. Do you have a similar 8" boot that has a narrower toe box?

Great boots so far. The insulations is great and keeps my feet warm on snowy days. Handled the rain pretty good but as soon as water goes over the top of toe of the boot by the bottom laces, they seem to let water in. Nothing too serious but i just have to remember that when i am outside working.

I have been a loyal customer to carhartt for a couple years time now. I have a pair of their non insulated version of this work boot and it held up pretty well after a season on the job site. So I figured why not just buy these for the winter. Within the first three weeks I just want to say so far I’m very disappointed, from my personal experience these boots are not water proof whatsoever they become fully soaked after only a couple minutes on snow. Quality is also not what I expected, after three weeks of moderate use the boots soles are completely peeling off. I don’t enjoy bashing carhartt however for the premium price that you pay for this boot I do expect more.

Really comfortable boot, but its not waterproof. I work in the treecare industry, 8-10 days outside in MN. I wore these straight out of the box, they took about two weeks to break in. they hold up to small amounts of water fine (walking through a puddle, short rain, ect) but if it's raining, or in the snow my feet are wet within a couple hours and close to soaked by the end of the day. The insulation has been enough to stay warm while I'm working despite being wet, but by the time I get home my feet are cold. So I'm sure as the temps drop I'll have to figure out something else

Bought these for my son who works outdoors year round in Michigan! He says they are amazing!!!!

Does the job. Could use a bit more cushion inside but not a bad boot.

The only complaint I have is that there is very minimal tread and traction lugs on bottom. This should be improved

My second pair of this style of boot. Highly recommend for comfort and reliability. Rated 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the horrible boot strings they come with. Both strings broke within a week on both pairs I've had.

So far so good, my feet are warm and dry and that's with walking in snow and water that's sometimes 3 inches deep!

Seem to be well made. Sizing was accurate. Doesn't feel like they will require a lot of break-in time. Insulation performance seems good. I've worn them with snowshoes and just working in the snow and cold of Wisconsin

He says they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever worn!
