Find a better brand of tools. Cheaply made not worth the money spent
$25's Expensive for something that is so cheap. Not even 1 day and the pliers begin to rust after being used to removed and replace the pipes to a kitchen sink.

I use these channel locks a lot of plumbing projects and sometimes even pulling nails. They work great for basic 2" pipe fittings, sink drains, hose bibs, jobs of that sort. Very tough and durable. I measure a 2-5/16" maximum clamp. Made in the USA.

Perfect tool for the job. A solid tool that was easy to use even for my small hands.

I try to buy American tools whenever I can. In this case I was disappointed. The jaws were misaligned by about 20%. I expect this from the Chinese tools stores, but not from Channellock. Since I keep my tools for life (I have my Dads 50 year old Channellocks), I'm sad I'll be looking at this poorly made tool every time I use it for the rest of my life. Many old swap meet tools are better that what are made now.

indispensable for so many different uses - good quality on these
When it comes to tools that hit a wide variety of uses that a wrench or regular pliers just won't cover if you have some channel locks and vice grips you've got a lot of bases covered. These channel lock brand pliers are pretty good build quality for my use. I've had a smaller pair of great neck ones for over 30 years and I've reached for them many times and they've taken a lot. Looking at the quality of these I expect the same from them while being able to cover things the smaller ones just won't do. The fit and finish is better than my older ones in terms of the precision in the fit.

    CHANNELLOCK quality pliers
I will admit there are a few brands of tools I am partial to, and CHANNELLOCK is one of them. All of the CHANNELLOCK tools I have owned over the years have held up very well, and I see no reason why these pliers will be any different. Many (probably most) hand tools these days are made in China. "Fiercely made in Meadville, PA" is clearly on the packaging for these tools. Some of the quality features include being made out of high carbon C1080 steel, having an electronic coating for rust prevention, and having laser heat-treated right-angle teeth. The blue "comfort grip" rubber handles cover clear to the ends of the handles, which I like. (On many tools today, the grips stop short of the end of the handle.) In terms of usability, these pliers are a full 12" long, and and it's widest setting the jaws are 2 1/4" when fully "closed". I will mention that on this particular pair of pliers, there were some imperfections on the surface of the back of the pliers. (I included a photo of this.) While I think this was just cosmetic, it did surprise me a little, as I haven't seen this on other CHANNELLOCK pliers I have owned. If I could do half-star ratings, I probably would have knocked the quality rating down to 4.5 stars for this particular pair. But other than the slight cosmetic issue above, I expect I will get many years of good use out of these, and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality tongue-and-groove pliers.

    Everyone needs a Channellock
For the price, you can't beat a good pair of Channellocks. Unless you loose them, you'll have them for life. If used properly (in the right direction of the turn) Channellocks offer a much stronger grip (turn pressure actually increases the grip) than regular pliers. These 12 in Channellocks open to 2.5 inches and offers the most leverage of any of the smaller Channellocks I have, including the 10 in.

    Slipping and sliding pliers
CHANNEL LOCK is a name I've used for over 50 years. These slip joint pliers adjust to sizes up to 2". Only need an occasional light coating of lubricant on the channels and slides. So many uses for these pliers, every tool box should have a pair.

    Real Nice Pliers
Never much for tongue and groove pliers because the pliers would slip off the nut and pinch your fingers. Trying the Channel Lock's has changed my way of thinking. Compared the old pliers with the Channel Lock's and there is a difference while not in a big way visually, it is in the engineering. I could go on but it would be easier to read the packaging. Put on a ball unit on my hitch. On the nut end, I used an adjustable wrench and for the ball end the Channel Lock's, firm and steadfast grip. There will be many uses for these pliers in the future.

Excellent product. I am familiar with Channellock products which have never failed me. I purchased this as a second pair for a particular problem I had to manage. I love the range of opening and the sturdy nature of these tools.

Hard to adjust and it commonly slips after I get it into place. Used better versions of these.
