Works great only had a shipping problem

This product should be removed from the Home Depot Inventory. Even though I consider myself a very mechanically inclined person, I failed to install this kit correctly and broke my garage door even worse than it was. The real kicker is that professional garage door mechanics refused to help me fix the door with the EZ-Set installed and I had to buy a different torsion spring components. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy his kit.

Much easier to install than I thought it would be. Works great.

I had one problem with this kit. The screws provided to connect the sections of bar together are too soft to self tap into the hole size the instructions say to drill. I had to make holes larger. I think it would be better to drill through both sides of bar and provide a bolt and lockout. It is easy to install otherwise and works great.

Package arrived at home damaged but every part was in it. Our 16 foot EZ-Set Torsion Kit had one spring that was very strong and there was no need for two springs like our old Torsion Kit of another brand. EZ-Set was easy to install by one person and works great. The spring is on the outside of a bar unlike the one we replaced that had two springs inside of a bar and hidden. We can easily see if the EZ-Set spring is working correctly or broken. I would buy this brand again but probably not for years and years as it looks like a good sturdy one. We are totally happy with our purchase.

I was disappointed that there was only one torsion spring, not two.

Easy installing and just as easy to use. Cant go wrong with this kit.

This is an easy product to install and set up. The only down fall is the packaging, I was lucky and got all the parts. Package was in tpoor condition, parts were not secure inbox and bounced around. No damage, but could have easily lost parts.

The kit was missing pieces which took a ton of work to get from the supplier. This caused delays in the closing of a home and the dates which we were given for delivery we not accurate.

Repeat customer. Very good product. Easy to assemble. Recommend adding self tapping screws to help in assembling the coupler. Drill and tap did not work as instructed.

Sent 2 right springs. Needed a right and a left. We have to send back the whole big package to get the correct one instead of just correcting the mistake and swapping out a right spring for a left one. Very disappointed!!

The kit was fairly easy to install.

I didn’t give it 5 stars because the screws used to attach the rods together stripped, and I had to but better ones that didn’t strip. I also had to drill my own pilot holes. The pilot holes should be predrilled.

Easy enough to install. My kit was missing the shaft coupler, box was ripped. Had to makeshift a coupler with some 1" emts. Annoying.

It was great, watch the Clopay installation video before reading the book and it will make a lot more sense.

Worked great and very reasonably priced. We weren't sure if it would work since we were replacing a Dalton over the door tube type opener with inner spring. But it was a breeze took no time at all.

This is the easiest Garage door assist system I have ever seen, worked perfectly, installed in less than 4 hours, easy to adjust. One person installation and set, awesome product.

Easy install, great product

I installed this conversion kit 10 years ago. It came with the garage door kit that I installed myself as well. The only problem with the old one is the spring broke. After checking around for a spring replacement. I concluded that It is better to buy the kit than to pay for the spring by itself to be installed by contractors. Replacing the spring with this kit is well worth it. Tensioning the spring is a breeze with just the use of your cordless drill.
