I love this look of this hook, it matches our hardware perfectly! It only lasted a couple months hanging on our front door. It fell and broke my sign. :( I tried again, cleaned and let the area dry really well and let it secure for two days before I hung anything else. When I did hang it again I fell a few months later.

Base plate and back of PLASTIC hook are weak

I bought two command hooks that hold up to 5 lbs. I hung the clip end of a leash on the hook. We went to remove the leash and the hook came with it. The back of the hook has a small plastic piece that holds it in place after it slides over the separate clear plastic base that you stick on the wall. The back of the hook broke and can’t be reattached to the base plate on the wall. So I attached the second hook to the base plate and it lasted about a week, then the hook broke in the same place on the back. Both the back of the hook and base plate can break easily. I’d rather have a metal hook that attaches to a strong metal base. I see there are metal hooks, but the base plate is still the same cheap plastic and can break. If it does, you can’t buy a new plate with more adhesive strips. You have to buy a whole new set or just buy a pack of adhesive strips.

I have limited space and utilize our metal filing cabinets for a magnetic clip board. I got this metal hook and since it stated sturdy I figured it would work to hang my purse on the filing cabinet as well. It worked perfect and the file holders are up with picture command strips as well. Great Stuff..... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The hook itself is great, the plastic that it slides over is a little flimsy as has been mentioned in other reviews but it does the job, the strips themselves just plain DON'T WORK. We have a smooth, sealed, and cleaned with alcohol door as they call for, but as soon as the sun hits it in any season other than winter the glue gives way and wrecks the wreath and in many instances the hook made contact with the concrete and dinged it up pretty well, too. We have replaced the strips 5 times using the strongest ones they offer and are just over this piece of crap. 3M needs to stop advertising this for outdoor use when the strips can't stand up to 100+ F that they get exposed to in direct sunlight.
