I needed a solution to support my Directv cable above my patio door. This product, being clear, did just that. Firmly holding the cable in place, while being totally transparent on my home's exterior.

These do not adhere well to exterior surfaces. Surfaces were cleaned with rubbing alcohol and allowed to dry and "set" prior to hanging rope. Unsuccessful.

Followed directions and still fall off
Followed directions and cleaned a smooth painted surface with alcohol, applied 3m clips, waited much longer than stated in the directions before hanging lightweight patio lights. One by one the clips are slowly falling off, should have listened to all these one star reviews. My guess is that 3m uses inferior adhesive. Do not waste your money on these, maybe just buy small cup hooks instead to hang your lights.

Outdoor String lights Command strips don't work
These didn't work. I was really disappointed. They said they were exactly for what I needed. I did exactly as the directions said. They held for one day before they started popping off. I didn't overload them. I spaced them lest that 2 feet apart as suggested. They were really expensive and didn't work at all.

Does the Job!

These Command Strips were highly recommended to me by a co-worker particularly for hanging outdoor lights. We followed the directions and had high expectations based on my co-workers recommendations. Unfortunately, the next morning after installing these clips, we woke up to a handful of strips/clips on the ground and rooftop where they had fallen. Luckily, we had extra but we'll see how these strips hold up in the coming days where it's expected to rain.
