This is a well designed and attractive phone wall jack plate. Installation is simple thanks to the clear instructions and color codes wires and it works just as well for a new installation or for replacing an old or broken wall plate. This is a standard size plate which is not a problem for a new installation, but it is less suitable for replacing a larger old plate because traces of the old installation may be visible. However it is perfect for replacing the old and ugly small external phone company boxes, even though some extra work will be needed.

Good replacement for an old worn phone jack. I used it to replace an old surface mount phone jack on my baseboard molding. This wall jack is made for to install in existing wall board not new work. It can be installed using 1-Gang Shallow Plastic Switch and Outlet Box #304234079 or a 1-Gang Non-Metallic Low-Voltage Old-Work Bracket # 203715333 See photos.

Telephone wall jacks may be from the past, but my internet service comes via my phone line. This jack was easily installed following the images attached below. Wiring is all color-coded making any errors hard to do. The most difficult part of a project like this is to get the wires to where you want the jack. Locating the jack on an outside wall will make the task simpler. The jack was nicely packaged with the screws neatly contained in slots behind the cover plate. Once you locate your wire cable, you should be able to complete the installation in less than 30 minutes.

This is a basic telephone jack which I used to replace an old one. It was easy to connect to the wires in the wall box and works fine.

Connect a standard 4-wire phone cable to this, and attach it to a single-gang mounting box.

The battery life of this wall jack was wonderful.

Easy to install. The color is not white but off white. It is next to a white outlet plate and you can definitely see the difference in color. It is plastic and inexpensive so it was fine.

Another small but great update in the house, as we continuously look for ways to make the house easier to enjoy. This wall plate was easy to install, allowing a great hook up option on a permanent use within the house. The install involved some wiring on the backside, replacing the older box jacks that stuck out of the wall and didn't look as nice. The plastic cover can be painted over to match the walls but you need to make sure you cover the screw holes to allow the plate to come off if ever necessary.

My connection with the internet is via a very slow DSL linkage (All Terrible Telephones) which uses a phone line. It was connected to an ugly Jack that was screwed to the baseboard. I got rid of the jack and moved the line up on the wall a bit and attached this product to an old work single gang box. Now I have a very nice looking connection. Sadly, there has been no improvement in performance of my PC. If anyone wants to kick the obnoxious and disquieting baseboard jacks to the curb, this is at excellent replacement which I highly recommend.

Easy to install and make living space look new and modern. Excellent product. Did have to purchase for multiple stores as NO store had stock. A lot of personal time and footwork in this project.

Two stars only because the materials seem sound enough. However, the wall plate has a fatal flaw -- it's too small, perhaps 1/4 inch smaller in both height and width than the plate it was replacing. It barely covers the cutout box on my installation, with no overlap, and a fair amount of trouble on my part tucking in ragged bits of drywall. The ridge of paint where the old plate was remains visible, so using this plate demands extra drywall work, spackling and sanding and painting, if it even covers your cutout. The whole point of the plate is to be bigger than the wall cutout to hide the ugly edge, not to be exactly the same size. Save yourself the hassle and buy a standard-sized plate instead.

This jack works perfectly for phone use. I have used the CAT5 devices with a punch block for my Internet locations. The CAT5 devices are more expensive but for a phone line only - these are perfect
