This wall plate is very modern looking. The textured face gives the switch a classy look. The plate is white but isn’t the same white as the switch. The wall plate doesn’t fit flat against the wall. The back of the face plate has a smaller rim inside the edge and I believe this is what is keeping the bottom from fitting tight against the wall. My other wall plate doesn’t have that extra edge and doesn’t have that problem. I’m disappointed it doesn’t fit a decorator switch. I’d be hesitant to recommend this because of the fit.
1-Gang Decorator Plastic Wall Plate, White Textured This wall plate gives a subdued but stylish upgrade to my wall switch. I had a cheep shiny plastic wall plate on the switch before, which was outdated. This new one has a matte texture which automatically brings it right up to 2018. Most of us have matte texture paint on our walls, so a matte electric switch plate not only makes sense, but gives a coordinated updated appearance to the decor. I find it is often the small details that do the most in completing an interior design.
Wall plates can appear to be a somewhat boring topic. I mean we see them, use them and unless it's for a kid's room, never think about them. Most are the same dirty white or beige plastic that we ignore. They are just there. This one is a bit different and I like the difference. The plate has some depth to it which gives it a design quality without adding in clowns or Disney characters. It is a thick plastic with a bevel from the opening to the edge that is pleasing and feels good to the touch. The holes for the screw heads are countersunk, so that the screws do not stick out. All and all a better, nicer product than the same ol' same ol' we normally use. I like it.
