Versatile lighting strip offers up colored light, white light, or a blend with dimming and color rotation programs.
This 24ft LED light strip has quite a bit of range and has more than met my expectations. My use case was to provide some color ambience on our back deck, which is set up as an outdoor living room garden. We already have home automation controlled soft white LED rope lights under the deck railing and a Philips Hue bulb in a wall-mounted sconce, so these were being installed around the bottom of the seating area.
As you can see in the pictures, the effect is quite nice. We tend to use blue, turquoise, and purple since it matches our color scheme, but all colors show up vibrantly. You have the option for white light or any color. The remote has 7 pre-selected colors, including white, but you can use left and right buttons to toggle between the main colors. You can also control brightness and use the FX feature, which has a lot of varying color shifting and blinking patterns and an option to control the speed of the effects. We sometimes use an effect that slowly rolls between various shades of purple or blue.
Everything is controlled via a slim remote (see picture), which is responsive and has good operating range. WE've had them installed through a few rain storms and haven't had any issues with them continuing to function.
The only thing I wish this included was integration capabilities with home automation controllers like SmartThings. That's not the intent of this particular product, so I didn't ding the rating for this, but it's the only thing I can think of that I'd change.
Uses for this lighting strip include: under cabinet lighting, workshop lighting, ambient up-or-down-lighting, or landscape path or accent lighting.
