Perfect for Douglas Fir Cones!!!
I haven’t seen anyone comment on Douglas Fir cones specifically so I had to review. Turns out it’s perfect for these cones! It picks up big and small and they don’t fall out. You do need to turn the basket so it lines up parallel with the wires or close to it, but it’s forgiving. It rolls very well on a deck with no scratching also. Those things are a pain to pick up and don’t rake well. I’m so thankful for a better solution!

Easy nut gathering when raking or sweeping is not an option. On newly seeded autumn lawns, we do not like to rake, and sometimes that is exactly when we have the most acorns and hickory nuts to remove. The toxins in hickory nuts are especially bad for lawns. This tool enables us to pick up nuts without tearing up grass seedlings. In addition, when our backs are unhappy from too much work, this tool allows us to remove nuts from our yard without bending over. This nut gathering tool arrived in a large, sturdy box, in perfect condition, and was very easy to use. The more nuts we remove while they are freshly fallen, the fewer problems with oak seedlings and hickory toxins we have later.

This is a great handy tool for picking up fruit, nuts, and pine cones. The reason I got this tool is because I have a large amount of pine, spruce, and fruit trees on my property. My fruit trees have already lost their fruit, but my pines and spruce trees ar constantly dropping their cones. So I gave this handy tool a good work-out. It proved to be quite effective and useful. I love it. It saves a lot of bending over and back strain. Also It is well made and constructed.

From the solid feel of its steel handle, yoke/subframe, spring wire elements and comfort grip it is clear that this tool is designed to last a long time. With an overall length of 48 inches, the handle is at a convenient height for the average person when rolling it over the ground to pick up fallen acorns. While there may be some initial concern about the need to spread the spring wire cage apart for emptying (when half full), after a number of extreme cycles of spreading apart, the elements returned to their normal position and shape. While not unduly heavy when handling or storing (using the provided hole in the handle grip to place on a hook directly or by using a cord loop), the heft of the steel components should be sufficient to spread apart the spring wires when passing over the target acorns. Should additional effort be required, the substantial comfort grip (easily held with gloved or ungloved hand) provides sufficient leverage to allow one to apply the needed effort without strain. The manufacturer indicates that there is a limited warranty, and, although somewhat vague as to its scope, from the manufacturer’s website it appears that at the minimum, the warranty period for defects is 10 years. No indication is provided regarding spare parts, though it is hard to imagine, given the robust construction, that, short of driving over it with one’s vehicle, any of the parts are going to require replacement. I anticipate that this tool will provide many years of service.

This little humdinger is one slick invention! This gatherer picks up nuts off the ground, saving me from straining my back or knees from manually picking up nuts, such as pecans, walnuts, or even almonds. You just roll the basket over the nuts on the ground and they slide between the tines that make the basket. It works so easily and quickly, it just seems magical. the handle is tall enough that it feels comfortable for someone over 6 feet tall. I bet this would even work for the pits from stonefruit, like peaches and nectarines that are strewn all over the yard after the birds eat the fruit from fallen fruit.

My husband LOVES this thing! We have a Hickory Tree that puts out a lot of nuts during the fall and they really wreak havoc on his lawnmower. He used the Quick Collector Nut Gatherer to pick up a basket full in no time. As you roll over the nuts, apply a little pressure and the nuts go right into the basket. When it gets full, just separate the flexible spring steel cage and the nuts fall out. Would we purchase again? Absolutely!

Corona MAX Grip 48 inch Quick collector is a back saver. Rolling action cage is designed for collecting and gathering tree nuts and seeds. I love the flexible spring-steel cage. It picks up nuts by rolling over them or by simply pressing down on them. It does a good job of reducing non-nut material. Emptying is quick and easy. The 48 in. carbon steel handle is very comfortable, strong, and has a long reach. The Corona MAX Grip handle is well balanced so you can use it for extended periods without tiring. The Corona Max reduces time and effort in collecting tree nuts and seeds. Plus it really helps save your back from the usual repeated bending. This is a well constructed nut collector that should last a lifetime.

CORONA MAX 48 IN. QUICKCOLLECTOR NUT GATHERER WITH CARBON STEEL HANDLE does pick up nuts and rocks. Such a great idea, to pick up our fallen nuts. We have a walnut tree that drops quite alot of nuts. Don't know if it's becouse our ground is uneven or the grass was in the way, it would spit them out. Were as it is easier for us to rake them . I would maybe recomend if you have short grass and even ground. It is a pretty niffty idea.

I live on five acres and have many oak treen growing on my property and of course many oak trees means many acorns. I noticed this year, there was an exceptionally large number of acorns falling and after some research, I discovered that this must be what is called a “mast year” for the oaks. Due to the large number of oak trees we have, we can never do anything more than blow the acorns off our driveway with a leaf blower but we thought this Corona MAX 48 in. QuickCOLLECTOR Nut Gatherer with Carbon Steel Handle might be helpful for cleaning acorns off small walkways. We also thought it would be fun for our three-year-old grandson to use around the property. This nut gatherer comes already assembled so you can start using it right out of the box. I started using it on our front walkway and it quickly picked up all the acorns I ran it over. I then tried it on a mulched area of my front yard and it worked surprisingly well. It wasn’t long before the basket was completely filled with acorns. I was pleasantly surprised how well this gatherer worked. I did notice that when using it off a paved area, you have to use a little downward pressure to be effective because it is an uneven surface. I’m a tall guy so I wish the handle (which feels very sturdy) was a little taller but for most people, it would be fine. When our grandson came over to visit, he absolutely loved walking the property picking up acorns and he picked up a couple baskets full. This nut gatherer is an effective tool and can be helpful when picking up the yard. Obviously if you have huge numbers of nuts, it is probably not practical to expect this tool to be able to pick all of them up but it definitely works well.

First off this nut gatherer is not a flimsy piece, it is substantial. I am 5'2" and it is easy for me to use, my grandson is 6'2" and he doesn't have to bend to use it. The craftsmanship is good too. Very sturdy. We rolled it all over the field and when full you just separate the tines and the nuts fall right out. It is easy to clean also, you just hose it off. I am really pleased with this gatherer, makes the job of picking up pecans not a job but a little fun.

This nut picker is the sturdiest I have ever used. It is long enough to not bend over. It is heavy so that the shaft will not bend if leaned on. The wire is a heavy gauge , yet flexible, and easily picks up nuts and can flex to allow emptying it. My pecans are already gone , so I pick up some hickory nuts which are large and heavy. The picker worked like a champ!! I think one of these would be a heirloom to pass down to the kids for generations.

QUALITY! DURABLE! WORKS! I was a little doubtful about the quick collector but it quickly changed my mind! I can tell you that this gem is made of solid, strong and quality materials. Corona spared no expense fabricating this collector. My favorite part is the handle and length of pole. I'm a big guy and stand at 6'3" and the length of the pole keeps me at a comfortable posture where I dont have to bend over at all. The handle is large and feels good in my hands as well. This thing is going to last a long time with all the quality put into it. It picked up the acorns with ease. Cleaning the basket was easy as well. I just used my fingers to widen the wires and they just fell right out into the trash can. If you got an acorn problem like I do... Then this is the item for you... Dont doubt yourself like I did! 10 STARS if I could give it that!

Corona MAX Quick Collector Nut Gatherer with 48-inch long Carbon Steel Handle. No assembly required for this product. My yard is covered with acorns as the trees lose their leaves. It’s been difficult trying to rake them up. This nut gatherer is a treat to easily collect the mass of nuts. The moving action is easy, and the cage design collects as you roll. Directions suggest you empty when the cage is half full. The flexible spring steel cage separates easily for you to empty nuts. This is a great find for maintaining your yard.

I hate acorns with a passion. So I was hoping this tool with make the job of fall removal a little easier. The tool is easy to handle and use. You just push over the acorns, and yup they slide into this metal basket. After the basket is mostly fill, just pull open with your hands and release. The tool seems well made for the job. So after a few uses I come to the conclusion it does work but it works best on acorns that are freshly fallen, unlike mine that are fallen, washed out then stomped on and ground in. It works best on flatter surfaces, but with my yard being on a hill there's unlevel area from washout. And it works best if just dragging/pushed along the ground without any pressure - when I tried pushing harder to loosen some ground in acorns, others just popped back out. One of the best things about it is it only lets acorns in , not much other debris like mulch gets through. It wont work on nuts much larger or smaller than the average acorn, they either cant get into the basket or smaller ones will pop back out. I think this tool is a nice addition to my arsenal of fall clean up tools , but it might not be the only tool you need for 100% acorn removal.

An excellent tool that works very well! I am very impressed with how well this works picking up acorns. The handle is sturdy with a comfortable grip. There is a hole in the end of the handle so the tool can be hung up for storage. We have already picked up most of our acorns from this year and we now have leaves covering the ground, but I was still able to find some and it magically gobbled them up as I rolled the tool over them. It even picked up some of the acorn caps and also a few small stones that Chipmunks had brought up to the surface of the lawn. A few leaves also got into it. To empty the acorns out one simply pulls the wires apart and they pour out! The length of the handle is good, even for a tall person. It ‘steers’ easily too. The bearing looks robustly engineered. It is so much fun to use, one might even be able to get the kids to do it! Made in Vietnam Limited Warranty.

Thi nut collector works great. My neighbor has a big oak tree, I got this for her. It is made much better than I thought it would be. The handle is extra long and square tubed giving it mote strength, and not bending when I push hared to get those nuts that have been in the grass too long. The red plastic grip is great, good solid feel, and no slippage. The nut collecting cage is well made of spring steel wires. It is flexible enough to pick up acorns and small sticks, but springy enough to close and capture the nuts.

If you have sweet gum trees in your yard you will like this tool. These trees grow rapidly and produce thousands of “gum balls” that drop to the ground throughout the year. They are very hard to pick up due to their small size and spikey exterior. This tool has a springy steel cage that collects acorns and gum balls when it is rolled over them. The litter passes through the flexible wires and is held inside. To empty just spread a few wires apart and shake until everything falls out. The 48-inch-long steel handle has a nice thick cushioned grip. I am satisfied with the performance of this product. It reduces the time and effort required for this very unpleasant task. It eliminates the repeated bending and is easier to use than a leaf rake for cleaning up gum balls that are scattered on the ground.

This review is for the MAX 48 in. QuickCOLLECTOR Nut Gatherer with Carbon Steel Handle by Corona. I was hoping I’d be able to capture acorns, since we have a bumper crop this year, but they are too small. The basket will grab them but then they fall out as soon as you roll it. You would not be able to capture smaller sized nuts; maybe walnut size or larger seed pods, etc. The basket tines are very flexible, which is good for dumping the contents, but may not last in use, over time. I would suggest 2 improvements: 1. closer tines to pick up smaller objects (like acorns). 2. empty the basket via a “trap door” instead of having to pull the tines apart to empty it (to avoid having to separate the tines which could lead to them being permanently separated).

The nut gatherer is the perfect garden/lawn tool to pick up our walnuts. This nut gatherer collects a great amount of nuts in no time. It's a lightweight tool and easy to roll over the nuts for a fast collection. You will need to use both hands to allow to empty out the steel cage. My walnut tree is a large tree and tends leave a great amount of nuts. So this nut gatherer is a much needed tool for our backyard. It's easy to use so anyone in the family can simply use it. The walnut size are a little over 1.3" in diameter. It's extremely durable carbon steel handle with a vibrant red hand piece. The ease of not having to bend down nor squat is awesome with this nut collector. Such an easier way to collect these nuts for sure. During the process of rolling over the nuts I've collected between 15 to 20 nuts at a time. Such a useful tool I may say.

The Corona MAX QuickCOLLECTOR Nut Gatherer comes with forty-eight-inch steel push handle is a real picker-upper-back-saver! Usually the dogs get to the nuts before I get around to retrieving them (they bring them into the house and crack them, eat the meat and leave the hulls for bare feet to find). NOW, I can get a head start. As the photos show this is excellent at retrieving nuts and leaving slall gravel behind; it does retrieve nut-sized and larger stones, though. We have eight pecan trees and every other year is a big harvest. I need to find a better nut cracker next……

I requested the Corona Max Quick collector Because of the 3 Oak trees in my stone yard. It will make the task of picking them up so easy! I'm showing the photos with faux acorns because this year the trees only produced a few and fell early. That being said I like the high quality steel cage that flexes to let the acorns in with a little pressure why'll rolling it over the acorns. I like in my case it only collects the acorns and not my landscape stones. And to empty the cage I just spread two of the collectors wire cage wires and pour out the nuts and No stones! The carbon steel handle is a little much, but I would rather have it than something that would only last a few years!

This product is essentially useless for gathering balls from the sweetgum tree. First, the small size makes it impracticable for anyone who has a yard with more than 25 balls. More important, trying to manually open the casing to extricate the balls while managing the pole and holding it over a container to capture the one or two the you can mange to pull out from the tiny opening you can get from pulling apart the wires is enough to make you grab your rake and put ths product out for garbage pickup.
