I absolutely love my monstera but I’m a little uneasy about it. I’ve had it for 10 days and have watered it only once (on day 4), because it came with pretty damp soil. On day 5 I noticed a mushroom growing in the soil and did some research. While it said it was a sign of healthy soil, I wasn’t too crazy about it but I let it be. On day 7 I noticed a common brown and beige centipede crawling around, but again research said they will cause no harm to the plant. Day 10, I’ve pulled many more mushroom stalks out of the soil and at least 5 centipedes that were crawling on the top soil. Also, one of the mature leaves started browning a few days ago from the center out, almost like it’s rotting. A new leaf is starting to open up and it’s also showing the same browning on the edges. The plant has been kept alone since its arrival, so it wasn’t contaminated while in my posession. The soil is actually pretty dry and it’s been kept in a location that is shady where the only light source is a skylight, and has been in normal/average humidity. I’m not sure what’s going on and don’t know what to do with it. I might consider repotting it in brand new soil and see if the pests clear out.

The Monstera deliciosa (aka Swiss cheese plant and split-leaf philodendro) is a good house plant, it is tough and can take neglect and can tolerat different light conditions. The plant comes in a standard style nursery pot, with drainage holes, that is placed in a woven, plastic lined seagrass basket. The plant including the pot sits about 36" tall with a 24" wide spread.
Costa Farms really goes above and beyond with the selection and packaging of their plants, I have only had perfect specimens from them. The plant was well packaged and even contained a heat pack for winter shipping, plants arrive quickly and very healthy. In addition to being beautiful and making your space look great, this plant purifies your indoor air naturally.

Excellent quality of plant that arrived with its own temporary heat source on the bottom to protect it during shipping. The plant is tall (29") and about 12" wide. It comes with a seagrass basket that has handles to help move the plant. It's lined with plastic. The leaves are a dark, shiny green and it makes a very pretty accent to any room. It likes a lot of light and minimal care instructions are included that do state that. Also, they give you their website in case you want to look up more information.

This is just a gorgeous Monstra Deliciosa. It comes packed so well with a heating pad at the bottom so the plant won't get cold. She was so happy when she arrived. This plant is full on arrival and has a beautiful basket that it sets in. Unwrap your plant gently, take out the heat pad, and take it out of the basket. The basket is folded down, so pull the handles up from inside and the basket will pop up to it's full form. I love this. Plenty of soil and instructions on how to care for your new Monstra.
This plant came in a different basket than pictured and was half the size as other reviewers posted and as what was described. Very disappointed as I had a specific spot for this specific plant. When I called Home Depot and the vendor Costa Farms, both said there was nothing they could do, but give a $16 refund (there is a plant the same exact size priced at $36.99). The plant itself is beautiful and healthy and packaging was perfect. Very frustrated in the customer service and that I did not receive the plant purchased and that neither provider wants to take responsibility for this mistake.

Costa Farms took great care to package this Swiss Cheese Plant so that it would arrive at my door intact and in great shape. I would suggest unwrapping the plant outside because some of the soil fell out. After taking off the paper and the bubble wrap, I was amazed at how big the plant was! The woven basket was folded inside itself so you will have to open it up and then place the potted plant inside. The Swiss cheese plant is very easy to maintain and looks great in an open space because it is so large. This plant likes humidity so I will spray it often but it would thrive in any area of a house. If the leaves turn brown, then I’ll know that it needs more humidity or it might need repotting. As the plant grows taller I will need to provide some type of support. It will need to be repotted probably in two years but for now it’ll be in our bright living room but in the shaded corner.
Word of note: This plant is poisonous to cats and dogs! It will cause a burning sensation so please keep it away from them.
Good Shape, Great Quality, Vibrant Color, arrived securely packaged, healthy plant

I was so hopeful for this. It arrived with little soil damage and in tact. It opened up nicely. However, you would think there would be a water tray to catch the spillage from watering this plant- but no. I watered it and it all came spilling out from the bottom. I had to put it on a towel until I can pick up the tray. But unfortunately it gets worse, I'm a good plant person and I know how to care for plants. This poor plant started browning and dying within the first week. It's not in direct sunlight but get good light. I'm so unhappy as I really loved the look of this plant and basket- but now I just want to be refunded.

Costa Farms Monstera Deliciosa Swiss Cheese Plant in 9.25 inch Seagrass Basket. This plant arrives boxed, shipped directly, wrapped carefully and in great condition. Be careful as you unpack so you won’t tear the leaves. I opened the box and let the plant breathe overnight to allow the leaves to stretch. The Swiss Cheese name comes from the wide leaves that appear to have holes or cuts in them to look like cheese, also resembles a split-leaf philodendron plant. This plant tolerates low light, it grows faster and becomes more dramatic in a bright spot so I placed it by a window so it can get some direct sun. The plant is somewhat drought tolerant so don’t overload it with water, just keep the soil from drying out.
The basket is not as strong as I thought it would be, so it needs some reshaping from shipping. The basket can be repositioned to hold the plant as you prefer.
