My mother-in-law has advanced Age-related Macular Degeneration and needed brighter light in her kitchen to be able to complete daily tasks. She has a four light fixture mounted on a ca. 15’ vaulted ceiling that was lamped with 50W PAR30 halogen spots. The light was harsh (shadows and glare) with poor coverage and overall inadequate brightness. The Cree lamps provided a dramatic improvement: Mom reported being able to see into cupboards, cabinets and countertops for the first time in years. A couple of weeks later, I walked into her kitchen from the garage and was surprised to see how bright the sunlight coming through the kitchen skylight was — it wasn’t the skylight: it was the four new lamps in the ceiling fixture!

using these as grow lights to start my plants, will add LED grow lights also when they get here

The bulbs made an audible hum when used with a high-quality Lutron dimmer switch. Worked fine without dimmer.

I bought 16 of these bulbs off the shelf to light up my redesigned basement (which included high quality, professionally installed ceiling fixtures) in July 2020. Two bulbs were dead out of the box; Home Depot replaced them on the spot. Over the past 21 months I've had an additional FIVE bulbs go bad and needed to work with Cree to get them replaced. That's a nearly 45% failure rate in less than two years for a bulb that's supposed to last "22+ years" according to the box. Strong DO NOT BUY.

Bulb style BR30 is exactly what I wanted. However, bulb luminosity is on the low side of what one would consider a 100 watt equivalent. That said, just the fact that the luminosity was what it was is so much better than what is normally available in a LED bulb. Also, color temperature approximates what one would expect as a good substitute for the color temperature of an incandescent bulb.

The 2700 K are very kind to the eyes

I replaced two 65W lights in the bathroom above the mirror where my wife applies makeup. That area is now much brighter which is what we wanted. Color output is the same as the bulb that were replaced, shape of bulb is also the same. Only negative is that I will need to adjust the dimmer switch, currently lights do not begin to glow until dimmer is at about the 1/2 point.

Save your receipts. Box says, lasts 22 years, warranty 10 years. Well, two years ago I installed nine of these, two are already dead.

These lights are advertised to last 22 years but after 3 years in our living room and kitchen we already had to replace a few. Some just stopped working, others started emitting a high pitched tone and one looked like it melted inside. I keep buying them because I do like the light they generate.

Light quality is good but one of the bulbs didn't last even a month, forget 22years lifespan.

Converted my entire house to these bulbs. Within 1.5 years, I have already had to replace 10 of them because they would randomly go out

Bright! Works great.

I bought 25 of these bulbs a year ago to outfit my whole house. Fast forward to today and I’ve had 6 of them to date stop working. You can get them replaced by Cree within 10 years of purchase but it shouldn’t be necessary to replace a quarter of them. Just hoping I got a bad batch.

The lighting and color on these bulbs are great. However, the life of them is not. Had a bulb burn out on me within 7 months of usage. For the premium cost of these bulbs I would expect them to last *at least* a year.

I purchased 8 of these for my kitchen/great room less than a year ago and 3 have already burned out. At $10 per bulb the transition to these LED bulbs have not saved me any money. Don't waste your money on these bulbs!

I like the light these bulbs give off, but have been very disappointed in the reliability. I did a large remodel and put all the bulbs in about a year ago. I have had to replace about 25% of them in less than a year. No good

These bulbs don’t last very long. I use them in a craft room and love the light they emit but I’m lucky to get one year per bulb.
