I purchased the BA21-16027OMF2-12DE26-1U_00 bulb about 3 years ago to put in a location that is difficult to reach. I thought it would be a good choice given it's longer expected life. Unfortunately, it is already dead and I need to find a replacement. Not sure if the $20 price tag is worth it. I'm getting longer life out of my CFL's. I've contacted CREE to see if something can be done, but without the original receipt I'm not sure I'll have much success. Hopefully you will have better luck.

The light output is perfect for our breakfast room chandelier. I could not be happier with the Cree LED dim-able bulbs. Great product. I would recommend Cree products to anyone.

      DOESN'T LAST. OVERPRICED
Bought on May 5 2015 and 1 burned out on May 14, 2016. At these prices they should be lasting several years not just 1. Do not recommend.

        I'm not sure.
I purchase six of these bulbs. I installed 2. They are as bright as I expected. One seems to be working fine. The other was installed in my basement. I have a motion sensing switch to turn on the light there. The bulb dies in one month. Is it the switch or is it the product? I don't know but I have had incandescent and CFL bulbs in there and they worked fine. Each was replaced only because I installed a newer technology. I went back to the CFL bulb.

        Good quality for a price
Nicely dimmable, good light output, incandescent quality. A bit heavy but sturdy. Works well in fixtures with the bulbs facing toward the ceiling - the light reflects well off the ceiling. A bit more expensive than a few other brands, but I am satisfied with the quality of the product.

        The Brightness does not last
Howdy folks.....sorry to say these do not last very long at their original brightness. These were initially just what I wanted, bright, warm light, dimmable, no more excess heat from my halogens. I've bought about 20 and after 16 months they are all failing. Brightest one now only equivalent to about 60w with many way below that.

          Still work but very dim
I bought 3 bulbs for the bathroom not even a year ago and now they look like 40w bulbs. Do some research on leds they all dim and some will dim faster if not made well. No way will I ever find the receipt and I swapped out all the bulbs in the house. I did it to save money and I see no difference, if you think about it the light is not on for long periods of time. If it is then sure the leds will save money. If you take a 6 month old led and put a new one next to it you will see what im talking about. So buying new lights every year at this price just to keep the brightness up is that saving you money? Below is an example from another room, 5 mo old vs new one

Agree with the other reviewer - skip this brand
This 100w equiv. Cree bulb did not last even 2 weeks in my pantry. It was used maybe 10 hours total before it stopped working. I have not had 1 Phillips bulb burn out, since I started replacing my non-LEDs 2 years ago. And those are in high use areas, like the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms.

AVOID! High defect rate, and Cree Customer Service is a nightmare! Buy Philips instead.
I had one of these begin flickering about a year after purchase. I called Cree Customer Service at 866-924-3645 on December 7, and they promised to send another bulb in "3 to 5 days." After no bulb arrived, I called again on January 4. After a long time on hold, "Debbie" promised to find out why it hadn't shipped, after which she would send me an email. After not getting an email, I called again on January 5. After a long time on hold, I got Debbie again, who said my case was "lost and then found again," and that I would now be receiving a new bulb... on February 29 or sooner. Let's just say that I won't be holding my breath while waiting for the bulb to arrive. AVOID THIS PRODUCT. The defect rate is incredibly high, and getting it replaced will eat up your time with no guarantee that you'll get a new bulb at all. If you need a dimmable 100W equivalent LED bulb, spend an extra $2 and get the Philips bulb: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Philips-100W-Equivalent-Soft-White-2700K-A21-Dimmable-LED-Light-Bulb-451906/205377823 If you don't need dimmability, get the new Philips bulb instead, it's less than half the price and seems to be much more reliable: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Philips-100W-Equivalent-Soft-White-2700K-A19-LED-Light-Bulb-455675/205861840

              Great light bulbs
I put them in two ceiling fixtures that run from an old dimmer switch. They put out a lot more light than the 100W equiv compact fluourescent bulbs they replaced and dim very nicely.

              100W equivalent LED
Super bright Cree bulb in standard A19 shape. Dims nicely with Lutron Maestro dimmers. Cheaper incandescent dimmers don't dim much and cause flicker.

                Excellent purchase!
Purchase of these 100W LED replacement bulbs was very smooth. They were carefully packed, a tracking number was provided and they arrived very quickly. Although not available in the store, we were able to make our purchase anyway and enjoy a reduction in our electric bill.

We're really happy with the warm light from these Cree bulbs, way better than CFLs and even a little better than incandescents.

Arrived quickly. Only 1 bulb crushed.
I haven't used these bulbs before, but I hope they last as long as they claim. The package arrived quickly, in good condition, but after opening the box, one of the bulbs was crushed. -Not a small crack that wasn't noticeable, but completel;y crushed. I'm not sure why ot was even shipped, but the local store swapped it out.

The light is very bright. Compared to the 60W equivalent bulb they are very pricey, but if you need the additional brightness, these are very good.

                82% Saviings on Power Consumed - Initial Savings: $250.00 per month . . .
We needed to save money on the cost of lighting our 104 year old Masonic meeting space, located in Chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood. With more than 300 light bulbs, illuminated from approximately 5:00 PM until 11:30 PM every night, and outdoor lighting every night, electricity is one of our major expenses. After doing some initial research, and realizing some significant savings on our home electric bills, we knew that LED lamps were the way to go. We had tried CFLs and didn't like the fact that they only saved about 20% over incandescent bulbs. CFLs also contain mercury. The next step was to research vendors. Our first requirement was to find a US manufacturer who, preferably, manufactures their LED product within the United States. Cree is both a US based company and has a manufacturing plant in Durham North Carolina, so they met the Made in the USA requirement. The second requirement was that the LED replacements had to be DIMMABLE - without flicker. With both the regular bulbs and floodlights, we realized an 82% energy savings. With the candelabra lamps, we went from an average consumption of 35 watts per lamp to 1/3rd (one-third) watt per lamp. Replacing 7 candelabra lamps took us from 245 watts to less than 2.5 watts. While the actual calculations are complicated: we have to take into consideration our rate (5.5 cents per kilowatt hour), delivery costs, taxes, and other costs, after two months, we can safely say that we are realizing at least $250.00 per month in savings -- and we have only replaced about 25% of our lamps, so there are some considerable savings to be realized as we have the resources, and the required lamp sizes become available in LED bulbs. Cree is constantly making new strides in LED technology, and we're now waiting for them to produce a DIMMABLE, MOGUL BASE, 500 WATT LAMP. PROS: * Long lasting (life expectancy of 20 years or more) * excellent light level output * 82% savings on electricity consumption * low heat output * dimmable - without flicker - no special dimmers required in most cases CONS: * Initial cost - offset by savings on electric bill and life of lamp NOTE: Our experience with Home Depot, both as a residential consumer, and, now, with the purchases of large quantities of CREE LED lamps, has been nothing short of incredible. Great service, quick order fulfillment, and quick delivery.

                Worthless LED Light bulb
The Cree LED light bulbs are supposed to last 10+ years. We purchased 6 of these bulbs less than 6 months ago and 3 of them have already gone bad. The LED light bulbs contain a voltage converter that is built into the base of the light bulb, the voltage converter which is an integral part of the light bulb is what goes bad. They have done a horrible job with design of their LED bulbs, purchase a different brand.

                  Peace of mind
Each time I turn on the light switch I know that I am getting quality light output for the least amount of energy being used. The bulbs are being used in various fixtures throughout the house and provide very pleasing light color and coverage.

                  Excellent replacement for 100W incandescents.
I used these to replace 100W incandescent bulbs in the kitchen pendant lights and a few bathroom fixtures. So far, they've been excellent. The light color temperature matches the bulbs we're replacing perfectly (my wife wasn't able to tell which I had replaced and which were original halfway through), and the light output is about the same level as well. There doesn't appear to be any warmup time like the CFLs we'd tried in a different section of the house. Compared to the incandescent bulbs, these are quite heavy. This wasn't an issue for us, but if for some reason your application would be affected by a substantially heavier bulb, be aware of it. The bulbs are expensive, but some quick ROI math indicated that with our local rates and having the lights on for about 5 hours a day, we'd make our money back via electricity savings in about 16 months. With a 10 year warranty, that seems like a more than reasonable timeframe.

                  Failed after only one month
1 out of 4 of my bulbs failed after only one month. We'll see how long the other's last, but not a good showing considering these are supposed to last 10 years. Will have to see how warranty goes.

                    Conserving electricy
Very pleased with these bulbs. I replaced 4 CF bulbs in a suspended ceiling fixture that hummed when on. These new bulbs do not hum and I was able to add a dimmer which allows better mood setting and power savings.

                    60% LOSS RATE
The bulb seems perfect in every way. Perfect color, brightness, size, appearance and instant on. The silicone coating is unusual, but understandable. The main problem is not the bulb. It is that 3 out of 5 arrived broken. So, after waiting 8 days, I'm wondering how Home Depot will handle the return. Who pays shipping? Do they wait until it is received? Will it be 1 month of time before I have unbroken bulbs that I can use. They have had my money for 6+ days. This may have been a fluke, but there was no padding at all in the box. It was a display box with 5 slots, one for each bulb. The box showed no signs of mishandling.

Just replaced 60 lamps with LED's in the dining room. Everything is brighter and I love the glow that these lamps give the glass--it's beautiful. Looking forward to the reduced cost of operation and saved man hours changing out lamps.

                      Expensive but worth it
I like these lights for two reasons. They are generally smaller in size than CFLs (I have had trouble fitting in CFLs in some light fixtures) and they are actually brighter than the same wattage CFLs. One other benefit over CFLs is that they are instantly as bright as they are going to get. So no warm up time. I live in an extremely cold environment and it takes CFLs a good minute or two to achieve their full brightness.
