This review is for Crescent Model 193610CVSMN Fence Tool. This product is of forged alloy steel with hardened cutters. It is about 10-1/2 inches long overall and weighs about 1 pound-11 ounces. It has durable and comfortable handle cushioning. I made use of it to help a friend to remove and replace livestock barbed-wire fencing with wood posts on his mini-farm. This tool worked great for staple removal because of the long, nicely tapered and sharp claw. The wire cutters also worked well. This pliers worked very well to hold replacement staples in place for driving using a separate claw hammer that is heavier than this tool. Overall, this is a great tool for those who want to remove or install fencing.

Crescent brand, a name you can trust for quality. I would have preferred a bit larger hammer edge that was flat instead of ridged, but otherwise this tool has multiple features for the job it was designed for. Snipping, pulling, hammering, cutting. If you have small hands, then this tool may not be a good fit. I wear large size gloves and can barely use this tool with one hand. I mostly got it to remove nails and staples, and will probably never using the cutters on the 2 sides of the pivot. I like to reclaim the wood from pallets, and this gives me options in prying apart and pulling out nails and staples. Keep it clean and dry and it should last a couple lifetimes.

These pliers are just what I need for my Garden Fencing. I need some that will hold-up year after year and these appear to be the tool that will do the job. They are made of good quality steel and have all the features I need. No more carrying wire cutters, pliers and a hammer to move the fence around for the coming years gardening, this tool has all of that built into with nice cushioned grips.

These are beefier than the predecessors and made by Crescent so should last. What usually wears on these is the tip of the prong from prying staples out and the wire cutters on the side. Both parts of this model seem made to last. The tool is is bit heavier than I am used to and I'm a woman with small hands so it is taking some adjustment. The bright red handles make them easy to find in the grass or on a post where I tend to leave them and ride off. If you haven't ever used this type of pliers before, you will definitely want to keep your fingers out of them or you are going to be wanting bandaids.

These Crescent 10 in. Heavy-Duty Cushion Grip Fence Tool Pliers fit my need well. They appear to be well-made, and heavy-duty. They are big enough to provide plenty of leverage. They are designed to make most any fence work easier, including splicing/twisting. The red handles are easy to see if dropped, are comfortable, and shouldn’t get too hot to hold in the desert sun, though gloves are highly recommended when working on fences, especially barbed wire. I don’t have any wire fence on my property, but I can’t say how many times in my 60 years of traipsing around the deserts, hills, and mountains of southern Arizona I’ve come upon broken (cut)/damaged fences and gates. Over the last 15-20 years it seems that there are many more, caused by ? I generally try to talk with ranchers/farmers when going on or through their lands, and afterward make sure to let them know if I find a down or broken fence/gate. When able, I at least attempt a temporary repair, and let them know about it. I’ve often wished I had a pair of these with me and these pliers will certainly be useful in those cases. These pliers are going in my tool/go bag, along with some bailing wire, in the truck. When I venture out from the truck they can go in my vest or pack. I sometimes even have a few staples in the truck. Also, when we visit our children in Texas, our daughter seems to find a number of things that need fixing, including fences, so these pliers will be useful there as well. They’ll also be helpful when using tie wire (especially heavy gauge) or cable for things around the house or yard. When I first opened the package, the pliers were quite stiff, but loosened up a bit after operating them a number of times. The oil that seeped out around the center pivot was quite dark and appeared to be rusty. I put a few drops of my favorite gun oil in them and worked them for a while and they got cleaner and much smoother to operate. This is a good fence tool!

This is a good tool but not the only tool I’d take to work on my fence. The hammer is more than adequate for driving staples but not designed to strike hardened materials. I take a hammer along as well so if I need help getting the claw under a staple, I can tap the head of the pliers and get it under the staple. The rubberized handles are quite comfortable to use. Previously, I would take a hammer, screwdriver and pliers but the claw reduces the effort and does less damage to the fence post. I liked the weight of the pliers as well as the balance. Having a wire cutter and wire stretcher as an added bonus is a big plus and lightens the load of tools required. However, for the price, I would expect the hammer to be hardened. These pliers were manufactured in Taiwan. Although this tool does the job, it’s interesting to note that Crescent has discontinued manufacturing it.

The Crescent 10 inch Heavy-Duty Cushion Grip Fence Tool Pliers has a strong heavy quality feel to them. They are a good weight for me and are comfortable to use. With all the features (corrugated hammer head, staple starter and puller, staple grip, hardened wire cutters, wire stretcher, wire splicer) I can do a lot of my fencing with this tool. The long handles make cutting easy and give me a good swing when using the hammer head, I would buy these again.

Having this one tool allows me to stop carrying several other tools when I am working on my barb wire fences. I no longer have to carry a hammer, pliers, wire cutters and something for pulling staples. Rather than a tool belt full of tools, this one tool is all I need to do the job of mending fences. I should have gotten a set of these pliers years ago! This 10 inch tool is a good size and weight and has cushioned handles.

Used this tool to remove staples in wall behind drywall. This is a heavy duty tool and will last longer than I will. I was using diagonal cutters before and although they did work, this tool is much easier to use.

bought these to replace a pair of these same model that I've been using for 20 years that my wife keeps stealing. Great fence pliers. The staple-pulling apparatus of these is far superior to any others I've found.

We ordered the 10 inch Crescent fencing tool because we have 2000 feet of electric fence around our orchard, and 1200 feet of wire retainer in our vineyard, the Crescent fence pliers are a must for us, we are continuously working on our fences this is the only tool we keep on our tractor, makes starting a fence staple much easier using the Crescent pliers nose grip, we use them to stretch wire, drive staples, cut wire, and pull hard to get to fence staples, Crescent pliers is a well made heavy duty tool that has taken a lot of the work out of our fence install and repair.

Crescent always makes high quality tools. This tool makes It is easy to pull rusty staples. Carrying one tool lets me walk the fence line without hauling my toolbox with multiple tools . The wire can be pulled easily saving my hands from wire burn. Starting and pulling capabilities along with pliers and hammering. I highly recommend the Crescent fence tool.
