Just OK
If full enough, 1/3 capacity or more, this blender does fine. However, with smaller quantities it struggles to blend efficiently. Material gets thrown all over the jar and lid, and frequent scraping down is required to incorporate all the ingredients. Also, the blender blades are in a recessed well rather than sticking up from the bottom of the jar. Maybe that's why the blending is so difficult for smaller quantities. When emptying the jar, it's difficult to retrieve the finished product from this well - the blades get in the way. Anything thicker than tomato sauce gets wasted in the well.
I purchased this blender primarily to make pesto - I MUCH prefer my old one and rue the day it finally gave up. As for blending soups and other sauces, I'll stick with my immersion blender!
