Perfect for the vinyl fence

Must be unlocked from the same side it was locked. Poor quality lock.

You can only lock or unlock from one side at a time. If you lock it from the inside you CANNOT unlock it from the other side.

Easy to install and works perfectly

We bought this to replace an existing latch that was broken. Our gate is working better now, but the latch has to be manually lowered for the gate to stay securely closed. The latch will do a partial latch, but it doesn't take much for the gate to swing open on it's own.

The product was easy to install but I was disappointed with the fact that the locking mechanism was external versus internal. Thud makes it easier for someone to cut the rod and walk into the yard. Someone needs to redo the design a make or internal.

The lock was perfect for my requirements. It was easy to install and adjustable to meet different gate thickness and gate to gate or gate to fence post spacing. The fact that is operable and lockable from both sides meets my requirements. The lock was a bit pricy but well worth it my particular applcation

On the packaging, it clearly states; "lock and unlock from both sides of gate". I assumed this meant either side, no matter which side it was locked from, wrong. It must be locked and unlocked at the side it was initially locked from, only. Totally defeats the purpose of adding a lock. I have used regular dead bolts in past applications and thought this might be a better solution, wrong. Additionally, the plastic material is flimsy and the attachment hardware is way too short to be an effective security lock. It might work for a baby gate, but I still wouldn’t purchase it again. The basic design is OK, installation was easy, but the materials are garbage. The latch needs a spring to snap it back shut after going out. The outside lock casing should be bulged on BOTH sides so the rod can be installed on either side. The rod sticks out way too far and can hit the striker casing if your gate tolerances are a bit tight. Over all, I found this set to cheaply made and not really versatile enough. I will be REPLACING it as soon as I find a good METAL set instead. Don't waste your money, keep looking.........

Works great

Awful design besides being cheap plastic and high cost, you must unlock it from the side you locked it. Can you imagine someone pulled out there trailer and locked it from the outside, then an emergency happens blocking the front door and the only way to safety is out the back door...well they are stuck behind a pile of garbage design. I wish I kept the packaging to return it.

Worst experience ever. Run from this outfit, better business bureau should get involved and stop the lying

Works perfectly and you can secure the gate from either side. I can have the gate unlocked from the inside and locked from the outside or lock the gate on both sides.

When locked from either side , it can only be unlocked from the side from which it was locked. The package and the provided information leads you to believe that it can be fully operated from either side regardless of which side it was locked. Returned the item as it was useless for my application.

I was confused by the keyed entry, the description said it was keyed on on both sides. I thought this meant that it would not open without a key. Unfortunately my gate swings out so that the latch and bar assembly must go on the outside of the gate. This model allows people to open the gate from the street side even when it is locked with a key.I called the manufactured and found out they made a similar model called a Lokk Latch Deluxe. This model was also keyed on both sides but it can't be opened without a key from either side. Home Depot does not carry the Deluxe model. I will return one this to Home Depot. The Deluxe is not available from Home Depot Web Site and it was less expensive from another provider than the original Lokk Latch I purchased. I am sure it would work well in another application when the latch bar is inside.

Connecting rod for the second key latch is flimsy (1/8" thick), easily cut, and fully exposed. Not much security. SEE: M736XKAD Magnum 2-7/8 in. Wide Zinc Plated Solid Steel Hidden Shackle Keyed Padlock with High Security Hasp for what was needed. Use this lock just to keep a gate closed.

Does its job. Easily adjusted so your gate won’t rattle shut. The push button on the opposite side is simple but cleverly designed and works well. Push the button and it opens with a solid click.
