Customer Reviews for DAICH RollerRock 5 Gal. Self-Priming Pebblestone Exterior Concrete Coating

I used this product to cover up the eye-sore the front porch (26ft. x 5 1/2ft) was after I removed the tile that was starting to lift. Once I removed all the tile and scraped, wire cup brushed and power washed multiple times to remove residual paint, glue/adhesives, I then gave it an acid bath using muriatic acid. I let it dry for a few days and applied the RollerRock Concrete Coating. It went on well, using the foam textured RollerRock roller I think it gave a nice texture. By the time I completed the project, I applied 3 coats (glad I bought the 5 gal. product). After waiting 2 days to make sure it dried (not allowing any foot traffic) I applied the HI-BUILD ULTRA - SATIN sealer, 2 coats. I am very happy with how this turned out.

I used this product on my pool deck. My deck was about 20 yrs old. The deck looks better then when it was new. A couple of things to note. It's more like watery cement then paint. I used a paint brush to cut in areas around the coping, the anchors that hold the winter cover, and the diving board, etc. I then poured the cement on sections of the deck and rolled it out. It won't work using a paint pan with the roller, it's thicker then paint. I figured it's better then paint and will provide better protection. I then used the recommended sealant. That can be rolled out just like paint. I needed 4 gallons of RollerRock and 3/4 of a gallon of the sealant. Both are 1 coating. I power washed the deck prior to starting. I haven't had it over the winter to be able to speak about it's durability, but it seems like a thin layer of cement that seeped into the pores and should last for another 20 yrs.

Coating worked quite good at covering up some of the small cracks and irregularities in the surface of my pool deck that was installed in the late 80s or early 90s. Make sure to follow directions and get loose concrete and debris off deck before applying coating and use the sealer or is too rough for feet. If putting on existing cool deck, use a long nap roller to get into the small holes. If still not getting all the way in the cracks, recommend adding a coat with that is mixed with a small amount of water (1/4 gallon for 2.5 gallons).

Used it on a climbing wall. It looks great. It's only been on for a short time so I can't speak to it's longevity.

I ordered the lava rock after speaking with a Daich representative and explaining that I wanted a light or dark gray. This is what they recommend not informing me it was strongly purple tinted. I'm giving two stars because the return process was simple for my exchange. I'll wait and see how the Warm Gray color turns out next.

Easy application dries fast super non-slip beautiful finish.

Easy to apply. You do need to do 2 coats of the coating and a couple of the clear coats. Used it on my garage floor. Will know more about how it stand up as time goes by. It was shipped from the manufacturer and unfortunately it was not the right color. The five gallon pail said Coriander and it was definitely Harvest Tan as you can see in the photo.

I ordered this 5 gallon pail which was just enough for the front entrance area I wanted to cover. The color was ideal as it offset the colors of the bricks on my home. I also ordered the Daich satin sealer as the final step in the application process. The anti-slip texture and decorative effect was just what I was looking for. I called the company direct for some application tips which proved useful. I learned some key points on preparing the surface for the coating. Thanks Daich!

Plan on an hour just to mix the product as the aggregate will have settled to the bottom and is extremely difficult to get mixed in. Despite the prep work on the porch this goes on very uneven. I used the roller that came with it. While not a professional, I have years of experience as a do it yourself painter and this is the worst product I’ve used by far. Once the second coat is cured, I’ll have to decide what product to cover it with as it can’t stay looking like this. For the cost if this product I expected much better

I needed to re surface the deck area around my pool this was the perfect choice.Not only looks great it's easier to work with than I expected ,following the instructions and mixing it well. I also followed up with the hi build clear coat sealer for a nice finish, a Florida resident.

Color does not even come close to that displayed on the Home Depot website once you get the product. The color you will get will be a dark to medium brown when you order Coriander. The product also does not cover the square footage and thus one should double their order to make it work.

Quickly started peeling off concrete despite being professionally applied. Same occurs in shade, sun, low spots, high spots, wet and dry. Flakes off all over your yard and pollutes the pool. Home Depot and the manufacturer blocked bad reviews and refused to reply to many contacts; they do not stand by their product. I'm having to pay THOUSANDS of dollars to get this professionally removed.

My grandsons painted my step entrance to my house with this and it looks.

Great product! Seems durable and rolled out great. The real test will be after the winter regarding holding up. I’m confident that it will.

Very disappointed, expected texture and color variations, nothing. This is just paint with sand in it. Dont recommend.

Painted a driveway for client who purchased Daich Roller Rock. Problems with coverage and durability. Went through 25 gal and 4-5 coats of paint and sealer. Waited 7 days to drive on driveway and black tire tracks appeared on first day! Final attempt applied thick coat of Roller Rock and 2 coats of new sealer recommended by Daich rep. It rained 48 hours after final cost and streaked entire drive! DAICH TOLD ME TO BUY COLORANT AND MIX WITH SEALER TO TRY AND COVER FLAWS! DO NOT BUY!

I purchased this product to conceal some minor concrete imperfections in our enclosure floor. It was delivered and I had to take the 5 gallon drum back to Home Depot for mixing. They had to shake it 5 times because the decorative rock was all stuck to the bottom of the can. It looked good when applying, but when dry the specks are clumped in different areas and looks terrible. I have to go get some acrylic exterior concrete paint and paint over this mess. A total waste of money.

Great paint. Used it on my concrete front porch. Covered well and seems to be really holding up to foot traffic. Color is nice and resists stains. Also provides needed traction for safety.

color does not match the picture it drys a dark gray with no speckles

I needed to hide the pores (not the joints) in an interior cement blockwall. Used 2 coats using the roller they supplied and the result was just not acceptable. Most of the pores still showed thru the coating. I has a little bit left so tried it using a standard 3/8" roller and that small section was much better. Conclusion - 1) Maybe on flat wall the texture will stand out and hide small defects but forget it on a cement block wall type surface and 2) the roller they supply is not very good. I have painted hundreds of sq feet of walls, ceilings and even floors so I am fairly profecient at painting. That roller they supplied was very hard to use, period. Bottom line - a very expensive coating that does not live up to it hype. Not recommended.
