Excellent quality tor replacement. My old spout plastic tubing is 4” long & the supplied one is 3 1/2” long. So I just switched by using my old tubing & it works perfectly fits. My existing copper tubing has a treaded adaptor , so I don’t need the rubber bushing & plastic coupling that’s why I need the longer plastic tubing instead of the supplied 3 1/2” tubing.

Poor quality of the tub spout caused a leak and water was getting inside the wall due to faulty diverter. I should have checked reviews and noticed that multiple other customers have experienced a similar issue. I spoke to a Home Depot manager and he said that they are not responsible. To contact manufacturer. Danco, the manufacturer, has written in their warranty that they are not responsible for damages. Lack of confidence in your products Danco?!? HD, please drop this vendor.

This is a piece of crap, pure and simple. Don’t get me wrong I like Danco products typically, but I’ve bought 3 of these over the years and always have the same results, “Why?!?!” The 2nd time I chalked it up to inexperience, figuring i would get it right with another try. No. The 3rd time was a matter of mistaken identity and a 10-year lull in which, I mistook one product for another. There is a Danco slip-fit spout with all of the pictured above guts already in place and it works fantastic. The one mentioned here is NOT IT. Home Depot does sell it, but apparently there’s no mention of it online. Stupid. It “should” work the same, so why the discrepency you ask? Because you have a 1 in 1,000,000 chance of getting the pieces to line up without stripping and chipping any of the plastic parts or marring your hardware. Its freaking maddening! Don’t waste your time and money, plain and simple.

First of all, I agreed with Bill about the quality. I have a 1/2" pipe with 3/4" thread. I have no problem with removing the old spout with non-working diverter pull lever. The Extension Nipple is made of plastic. I would pay extra for metal. The Slide Adaptor (plastic) is hard to remove from the plastic Extension Nipple. I accidentally punched a hole through the Extension Nipple by the Slide Retainer Ring when I try to tighten the screw. I managed to turn and hand tighten the Extension Nipple. Then, water leaks probably through the hole. It looks good on the outside but poor quality inside. I will return it.

Easy to install. However, no mention is made of putting a bead of clear caulk around area where spout touches shower wall. Important to prevent water getting behind wall through pipe opening.

Worked as advertised. Make sure the set screw on the ring is tight before screwing the spout on. If faucet or shower is leaking its rhe cartridge behind the handle. Fix that first.

This tubspout caused a customer callback and I had to completely replace the copper stubout a second time. (1) I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product under any circumstance if you need a slip-on spout for a retrofit installation. The plastic adapter uses a phillips head screw rather than an allen setscrew which is industry standard, making this product exceptionally difficult to install in most tubs due to tight clearance between the spout and the tub. (2) The plastic adapter may leak - it did not establish a good seal with the copper stubout. For clarity, the stubout was replaced and deburred prior to installation. (3) This tub spout is ACCEPTABLE for use with an traditional threaded stubout (1/2" IPS)

I followed the Instructions (that were confusing and a little miss-leading) and the spout leaked. I wish I could get my money back. I am definitely going to pay the extra money to get the name-brand spout. I attached the instructions that show how confusing they are. Notice that the instructions mention a "hole in Extension Nipple C" (red underline) when there actually isn't a hole. Later on in the instructions the hole is referred to as a "recessed hole" when again there isn't a hole. At another point the instructions mention to "tighten Extension Nipple (C) onto Adapter (A)" (blue line) and later on in the instructions it says again to "Tighten Extension Nipple (C) onto Adapter (A)", but it never said to untighten it.

I liked this product it was inexpensive and it solved the problem that I was having. Water was coming out of the tub spout faucet when I had it in shower mode. My husband and I was able to install it ourselves by using the installation tutorial. That video saved us money and we didn’t have to call a plumber.

Nice product works for any type of connection

Easy to install. Color matched my existing shower. We had to replace the shower shown with a tub. I simply had to add a line for the faucet with a 2" nipple.

My old tub spout was calcified to the point that the diverter barely diverted enough water to the shower head to take a shower. I admit, I tried a different brand replacement that also was universal, but the commitment to making it work was more than I wished to make. So I returned to Home Depot and purchased this Danco model. I also purchased the escutcheon that tastefully sealed the gap between the shower surround and the spout. The Dance Spout came with everything that I needed. My water stem on which the spout mounts is 4 inches so the first thing I needed to do was remove the adapter from the spout -a simple task. I used the teflon tape that was included with the spout to wrap the threads and then hand screwed the faucet onto the stem and into the escutcheon. Wow, what a difference. The whole installation took less than five minutes, and that includes opening both packages. How could I not recommend this Danco Universal Diverter Tub Spout in Chrome to a friend? Oh yeah, the directions are thorough and detailed drawings depict situations in which this spout can be used as well as how to install it.

I spent an hour replacing this spout. Corroded in one month with just a few uses. I tried to use metal polish to take out the corrosion. It would not come out. Completely defective metal used in it. (The manufacture probably doesn’t even know yet that their supplier gave them the wrong metal)

Poor quality control. Part "C" (the "Extension Nipple") is supposed to have a cross hole that the tightening screw goes through into the slot in part "A" (the "Adapter). While there is a shallow counterbore, there is no hole and therefore no way to tighten the screw to hold the spout onto the 1/2" slip on copper pipe. I'll try to drill my own cross hole but this was just poor quality control.

It even worked for my manufacture home. I had to take an internal part off old one. Looks very nice too

Great product! I watched the video a few times here on the website before & during & followed the instructions and installed it and removed my old rusted one within 15 minutes! I would recommend this. I had to buy copper pipe grit sandpaper to clean the old corroded copper pipe in my wall beforehand but this kit came with everything else I needed except a Phillips screwdriver (which I had). Worked great the first time I turned it on with no leaks whatsoever! Looks great too!

It was easy to install and works perfectly.

I finally finished my bathroom remodel and there’s only one thing wrong with it… This dirty looking Tub Spout does not matchup with my other brush nickel fixtures. It looks terrible compared to what a lighter brush nickel should look like. It also leaks like a faucet after pulling up on the diverter. I wish I would have saved the receipt because I’m definitely going to swap this out for something better.
