The 17 in. x 4 in. Gray Floating 'U' Laminated Shelves (Set of 3) shelves where perfect for adding to my kids room. I was looking for some shelves that they could put some of their stuff on getting it off of shelves. I also did not want one big shelf, and these having three shelves was great. The shelves came with hardware and some drywall plugs, I did end up having to use 2 drywall plugs for one shelf as the sleeve feel through.
It is mounted via the screw being left a bit above the surface. Not the best mounting but in this price range it is ok.

These U shaped shelves look very nice. They boast a 22lbs limit, my son uses them to put his trophies on so we really haven't tested that limit. Shelves come with a template to drill holes as seen in the picture. All hardware is included in this package. Tools required are just a drill or screw driver, hammer, and a level. Shelves come in a set of three, large, medium, and small. Shelves hang sturdy and steady.
These shelves are pre-assembled from the factory. So, no need to struggle with an allen wrench or glue and dowels to put them together. The only hard part is getting them mounted level on the wall. Constructed of what appears to be MDF that is wrapped in a white laminate they're about the same as any other budget shelf you can find these days. The joints between boards and seams in the laminate line up nicely without any obvious gaps or defects. Screws and plastic mollies are included along with paper templates for drilling the holes in the wall. They even included small white stickers to hold the paper templates in place while you drill the holes.
They feel pretty sturdy and look pretty nice once up on the wall. If you have a self-leveling laser line level it makes drilling the holes super easy. I found the mounting holes on the back were accurately drilled so I didn't wind up with un-level shelves after hanging them on the mounting screws. Nice shelves if this is the design you're looking for.
