I love these little things. They are pricey, but they definitely save you a ton of headache whene...
I love these little things. They are pricey, but they definitely save you a ton of headache whenever you need some caulk. I used to use rubber gloves, Ziploc bags, etc. to try and keep my caulk from drying out, but nothing works better than these. If I need a quick squirt of caulk, I can quickly pull this cap off and apply the caulk and put the cap back on for my next use. They are pricey (especially if you need 5-6 like me), but worth it.

I am not a home repair person, so I actually needed instructions on how to use this properly, as the tiny drawings on the package were insufficient. I ended up using my finger as always, so now I have a plastic tip that I don't know what to do with.

DAP customer service impressed me
I was interested in adding the product to my cart and was reading the reviews where some have been less than favorable. On every one the DAB customer service people reach out and welcomed the customer to engage so they could make the matter better in some way, shape, or form, which impressed me and gave me great confidence in trying the product out without hesitation. I’ve just ordered the tool and am looking forward to it working well for my project!

The tip broke so it did not have a point...
The tip broke so it did not have a point first try. Gave up and used spray bottle and finger method. Don’t recommend.

It didn't really help making neat caulk lines. Supposedly, you could use it as a cap for the caulk, but the part you use to smooth the caulk line gets in the way so it doesn't close the tube of caulk.

wet finger
wet your finger and smooth out the caulk. once you have a decent amount on your finger, wipe off with rag and start again. not a hard thing to do. if you want to seal the tube, wrap with a small piece of plastic and rubber band. or squeeze out a small amount to the tip and allow to dry. when needed, you simply pull on dried caulk.

This finishing tool is ok. Easy tonuse but hard to get a decent line. I found i got a better line using my finger.

Doesn’t work real well for capping caulk tubes. As fas the smoothing tool, I usually use my finger for that.
