Prefer these over other screws because of quality and included bit which is a standout color so it doesn't get lost .

Either all the standard 2x4s I'm using are all really soft or these screws strip out easily. Difficult to sink the heads flush without them free spinning in the hole. I even tried drilling out the first board where the smooth part of the shank sits with no change.

We used these to attach plastic deck chairs to our floating raft.

Every screw made correctly. Zero breakage with hammer drill.

Worked as advertised. Star drive is nice because there is virtually zero slippage when driving the screws.

Screws can be very frustrating but these are your best alternative for decking or outdoor construction. I used them to install plywood walls inside a horse barn. The star drive really makes a difference in driving them in. I only had about 1% strip and have to be removed. They could be improved with a different spiral pattern on the threads as they do lift the plywood and have to be driven in completely to get the plywood flush. I have used other screws that almost have a self tapping thread that eliminates the lifting issue but they are much more expensive and not an option for large projects.

These "deck" screws are top-notch! We use them for a huge variegy of construction znd repair projects. The star-drive is the way to go, as they don't strip out as Phillips-drive screws do. And they are STRONG! The heads don't snap off when they are torqued down. Also, pleased that a star-drive bit is provided!
