The dust extraction on the plunge base is amazing. It is too bad DeWalt did not add dust extraction to the fixed base. On the whole it is a solidly built kit.

I haven’t used it much, however I was pleased with the purchase.

Lots of power and its nice to have the fixed/plunge options. It can be a little bulky to use so it may be worth going to the small cordless tool

The plunge feature was sticky. I didnt like this tool.

Still missing 1/2 collet as of Jan 2023. Returned first one and opened a second one at customer service desk. The second one was also missing 1/2 collet so walked away with no router.

The router works great, easy to switch to plunger. Haven’t used it enough to give it a 5 star but I do know it’s going to be a little tough using the vacuum attachment.

Excellent router kit.

For the price I expected to have an easier time using the tool. I found it extremely difficult to make any kind of freehand cuts because you cannot see the cutting bit in relation to any drawn lines or patterns.

After looking at online competitor and Dewalt reviews and manuals, this unit is exactly what I was looking for. The only issue I had was the downloaded manual states "Two collets are included with the motor: one 1/4" (6.4 mm) and one 1/2" (13 mm). To change collet sizes, unscrew the collet assembly as described above. Install the desired collet by reversing the procedure. The collet and the collet nut are connected. Do not attempt to remove the collet from the collet nut." Even the video reviews show 2 separate collets as the contents were opened. You have to look at the included paper manual's parts breakdown to see the 1/4 collet INSERT which means you had to purchase the unit. Confusing,Yes? The online manual and the included paper manual are not the same! This does not help with making an informed decision. I would have preferred the separate 1/4 collet nut assembly. The store only carried the DW618PKB bag unit, but I wished I had ordered the plastic case model DW618PK instead. Other than that, I like the unit.
