Didn't Want It But Definitely Use It

I got this thing from a combo deal I found that had another tool I wanted. Didn't plan on ever using it so thought I could gift it to someone. I am very glad I did not, because I ended up using this thing constantly. I abuse the snot out of it, on jagged wood, through dirt, soiled lumber, on surfaces and materials it probably shouldn't be used on, for hours on end. This thing gets dirtier than any other tool I have but it keeps on going without complaint. Bag is not fun to empty, though.

Difficult to hold - makes sanding challenging.

I own quite a few DeWalt tools and this is the most difficult to hold of them all. Both the dust collection bag and the battery (bought separately), don't provide a secure handgrip on the sander, making it unwieldy. I cannot recommend it over the corded version, which I use quite often.

The first one of these I purchased failed after about 30 hours of use. It appears that this is fairly common on this model. I took a chance and purchased another one since I have about 1/2 mile of fence to sand over the next week and a half and since it does a great job while it is working. If the second one fails, I will try to find another model.
