Nice tool but doesn’t last very long on batteries and gets stuck in project causing issues trying to free it up till you can recharge battery! Only good for small projects!

I purchased the 20-Volt MAX XR Cordless Brushless Compact Reciprocating Saw a few months ago and used it a lot in different applications such as demo, cutting branches, cutting plumbing fittings, I used it in almost every application I could and this is what I found. This saw is good for homeowners who need to do light demo for short periods of time and for professionals who need a saw for tight spaces. This saw vibrates like crazy which is it's one and main turn off for so many people. They're no vibration dampening with this saw, so your hands will vibrate a lot. Don't get me wrong this saw is great and compact but that one problem of vibration is the main reason why some people would not like it. Overall I bought it for tight space usage and its a beast with a good battery. It fit my needs.

Tool goes above and beyond

For a portable saw it is great.... yes it vibrates more then a straight saw, but it makes up for the compact size and getting into tight spots. If your looking for less vibration get the straight one. if you want tight spaces, get this one. For grab and go use its awesome. For long term use I would still use a 120V saw.

Used it to trim palm tree with little to no effort.

The hammer drill doesn’t work at all, DOA. I called about returning just that drill cause everything else works great and I was told I cant. Called dewalt and they said homedepot should replace it. Someone needs to replace it

Unbelievable product

Dewalts 20-Volt Max XR cordless brushless compact reciprocating saw is good for homeowners and people who need to cut stuff in tight situations. That’s all it’s good for. The one big major flaw that would sway people away from purchasing it is that it vibrates like crazy. It has no vibration dampering what so ever that can make your hand hurt from the amount of vibration.

The offset motor allows this tool to fit in spaces other reciprocating saws will not. The four position blade adds even more to the versatility.
