broken before it got home.
The “knob” that actuates the blade broke off and rendered the snap off blade knife useless. Upon looking as to why it broke, noticed 10mm x 1.5 mm plastic attachment had a clean break off “knob”. There is more thought to attaching the DeWALT name to the actuator “knob” than the 2nd most important feature for functionality and most important feature for safety. I expect more from the name DeWALT.

I like these knives over the dollar store or other cheap plastic snap off blade knives. They have a nice metal holder for the blade and it keeps the blade straight & doesn't wobble & feels safe in hand. I will no longer buy the cheap ones knowing this is available. I used the knife for cutting thick insulation extending the blades all the way and it worked well. The positive clicks as you extend the blade also gives confidence while cutting in that the blade won't slip in or out on you, as many times the cheap knives have done for me in the past.
A few things...The pocket clip kept falling off so I took it off and just carried it my pouch. I've read that many reviewers have said that the plastic part that holds the blade inside can break when dropped. I have not had that issue, but DeWalt should just replace it with a different type of plastic that doesn't break so easy. I like the feel of the thickness and metal grip while using it over the thin plastic type.
