This Dewalt Titanium 3/8 inch Pilot Point Drill Bit is sturdy and works ok. The pilot hole actually drills really quick, but the transition to the larger hole left something to be desired. The transition tends to corkscrew the steel you're working with, and if you're not paying attention it can grab and yank your wrist. You need to set the drill to the drill setting without limitations. I was using a hammer drill on the drill setting and it kept getting caught up on the edges. I switched to a good old fashioned 1/2 inch drill and it worked, but it was quite the chore to finish out that hole. I would purchase again for use on soft materials, but I'm not sure I would if I needed to drill through steel.

I needed to drill eight (8) holes in concrete. This bit finished what I used several others to try. I got through the concrete, hit rebar and that ended the first bit. It took 3 other bits to get nearly through the rebar and this one finished the job in decent shape.

Great drill bit to replace one I broke. Overpriced.

Bought these to replace one I broke. Great price, delivered to my door, and ready to rock.

This pilot point drill bit is probably great for punching holes in wood, but I wanted to use it with plastic. Unfortunately, the twist is long enough that instead of drilling through the plastic, it pulls itself through, and sometimes splits the piece of plastic. I'm going back to the regular drill bits.

Works OK but for this size bit, a cobalt bit is worth the extra cost.

Perfect fit to replace the missing one from my set that that I lost.

I had to drill six 1/2 inch holes in 1/4 inch steel to mount chain hooks in my tractor bucket with one brand new cheap drill bit. I almost got one drilled before the bit gave out. I purchased a DEWALT pilot point 1/2 drill bit at HOME DEPOT and it drilled the holes like a hot knife through butter and is still sharp! Best drill bit and best price at HOME DEPOT! Made my job a lot easier.

Came in way before the date they gave me ,and very sharp and durable.

I was tapping some #6 holes in hot rolled steel and has trouble breaking the tap. I used these drill bits, the next size larger than the specified drill size, to drill the holes before tapping. The bits worked well and I was able to tap the holes without breaking the tap.

This was a replacement for a broken one.
