This router works great. I put it through its paces for over a couple hours and it never got too hot and has plenty of power for its size.

The router performs as expected

Clutch ratchet is convenient. Depth adjustment easy.

Very well made router with good ergonomics although not the cheapest in its class.

Excellent tool.... I’m a beginner and this package made it easy for me. I have made a few signs with the plunge base, and used the fixed base for rounding over edges. If you use good bits, you will not be disappointed. I’m looking for an over sized baseplate now to help with my steadiness.

Light and powerful/nice to have light shining on work.

It seems to be all right so far

The first times I used the router it was nice. I accidentally knocked the base off of the bench. The aluminum is now bent and is tight on the motor. It’s not very durable for a professional power tool. When it worked, I would give it 5 stars.

Working well for what I need

good power and pretty good visibility to bit. lights on bit big help over others . like plunger but will need guide to complete the package

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Previous compact router had a runout issue - a 1/8" straight bit was creating a dado at .168". Once I upgraded to the 611, the dado measured .126" (the actual size of a 1/8" bit). What really sold me on this router was the built in LED lights. They really help to see the lines for freehand inlay work. I have marked down my rating because on my router, the LED lights sometimes go out, but come back on a little bit later.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The nice soft start and the LEDs were the main factors that made me choose this router over the similar size routers available from Bosch and Makita. Very nicely built. The single wrench mechanism to tighten/loosen the collet is very handy. Great for any routing job that does not require the power of a standard size router. Hit the sweet spot for my needs. It does not have the electric brake that the newer cordless model has, but that is only a minor inconvenience if you are a reasonably careful woodworker.

After much research, I settled on this router from DEWALT (although, it would take a lot to make me break away from the yellow and black brand!). As an amateur DIYer and someone who takes on small tasks around the house, I went for the corded version. If I was a full time tradesman I probably would have opted for the convenience of the cordless model. I also chose this for the plunge base, which was suggested to me by a number of woodworking friends. After using the router on multiple projects, I can definitely vouch for its effectiveness. It’s easy to jump into using, makes accurate cuts, has a straightforward and intuitive design, and lives up to the great DEWALT name! Would recommend this to anyone looking for a compact router!
