Fresh out of the box i noticed it didnt come with the green glasses like in the picture. Uhhh. After fully charging the one 12v battery it comes wiith, i set it on the ground to check the 90 degree lines for flooring layout (the reason i bought this laser) with all the lights out i could barley even see it. I can only imagine on a bright jobsite fumbling around with a laser trying to find square in the room. Super dim laser when on the ground and missing the green glasses. Bummer… Returning to store

With a help of a buddy of mine, I decided to take on the task of setting up acoustic sound panels for my home studio rather than hire professional help. I purchased the 3 beam 360 Laser level to serve as the guide for the placement of the panels. Upon opening the DeWalt laser level case, it was very quick to grasp how to best utilize this leveling device. Check out the photos I am posting to see how I was able to use the laser to keep the Acoustic panels to look symmetrical from the front wall to the back wall, ceiling and the left and right wall. By having the multiple laser option helped me tremulously by making sure I able to keep the panels parallel to the front wall and left to right. Beside using this laser level for my studio build, this laser level has helped on another DIY tasks. I have been able to set up two adjacent curtains rods on a large entry door and window and set up shelves on walls as a decor. I plan to use a laser level for every DIY project that might come up. Now was this product isn’t 100% effective I would say there is some patience needed when working with setting up the laser level. Part of my complain has to do with the Tri Pod that I got with the device. I wish I could make micro adjustments from the laser level rather than try to move the tri pod which would far pass the mark I was so close to lining up to. To get the perfect set up of the laser meant tape measuring the room, setting the laser lever, measuring and making adjustments constantly. A lot of time can be wasted if you are trying to get absolute perfection if you need to laser lever to specific points. In Summary by having this laser lever it has helped take out the guessing work on eye balling if items are leveled. I was able to get a professional looking studio with no crooked lines or odd gaps thanks to this DeWalt Laser Level. When you are looking at the value of this device might be a pricey laser level but the fact you are getting the 360 3 beam laser lever is worth every penny. Being able to measure on a X, Y & Z Plane make sure that you are balanced to the room, sure it will take time to measure that you are correct but trust me your visible eye will take you. Every time I walk into my home studio, I am beyond impressed with how the set-up of the acoustic panels came out to be.

This is the most useful laser level that you can buy, I use it for back hanging up verge as door tracks when there is not a square wall to measure from, I have also used it outside to pull elevations for my garage. Excellent product.

4 - 1.5 volt AA batterys make 6 volts not 12, no one carrys this battery pack. So if yours fails or you want to buy another to clip in, you cant. How about making this battery pack available? The only part number I see is n414789. Cant find it. Im about to send it back....

More than my expectation very good product.

I've owned for 3 months. Green laser is so much brighter than red lasers. I use to layout basements primarily and what a time-saver. New construction steel joists, drywall, hung ceilings etc. I wanted to buy a 360 laser for a long time and very glad I didn't go cheap. Do the research yourself, best 360-degree laser you can buy for commercial-personal use. Heavy duty case with space for additional battery. Wouldn't spend the money for a backup battery though 12 volt laser battery runs all day with very little drain. When we break for lunch I'll throw on DeWalt 12v / 20v charger but have used all day on a single charge. All our regular DeWalt tools run on 20 volt system so there is a power strip with 4 or 5 12/20 chargers plugged in all day. I recommend this laser and DeWalt products to all that want the best!

Is this unit expensive? Yes it is but it's worth it in my opinion. The build quality and feel of this unit is obvious every time you pick it up. The laser shows up very well indoors and it's super quick and accurate. It takes the guess work out of lining things up and leveling. If you do any layout on a regular basis it will pay for itself in no time.

I was in the market for a new level, and I had recently learned of these laser-style types, so I thought I would give it a try. The first biggest advantage with this is that it is very versatile with distance, and very clearly marks where you need to work. The pendulum mechanic is a very useful tool in making sure your measurements are true, regardless of uneven walls, floors, etc. The laser is a bright red, making it easy to spot in most environments, although brightly light areas (outdoors) make it difficult to see. This particular model also comes with a carrying case, a pair of red tint glasses, a reflector card, and a magnetic mounting bracket that can be mounted onto a wall or ceiling. Unlike most DeWalt tools, or any brand tools for that matter, this does not require a battery pack, and instead uses 4 AA batteries. The glasses work very well for areas where you may have trouble seeing the laser, enhancing it and dimming everything else. The mounting bracket is extremely sturdy, and the magnet on the unit is very powerful. It will not be moving while on there. If this is not enough to convince you to try this product, it has also been approved as a great toy by our resident cats.

To start with, the Dewalt Model # DW088LR (this unit) does NOT come with either the lithium-ion battery or a charger. It comes with an 12 volt adapter battery shell that takes 4) AA batteries (which are included). You can pop in a Dewalt 12 volt battery and it will work as well. The Dewalt laser level comes in a case with generous space for other accessories. The included accessories are the adapter fixtures to hang the Dewalt from T-grid ceiling track and well as a "free hang" plate to hang the level from almost anything you can secure the plate to. The DW088LR has very strong magnets built-in but also has mounting threads for tripod use. The laser emits from a pendulum that makes leveling of the DW088LR easy since it levels itself to gavity. The pendulum locks down to protect the instrument. You can select the line output to just horizontal or horizontal and vertical. Laser line brightness is great. I ran a line for a backsplash for a kitchen with with tons of natural light flooding in and the laser was easily visible. The angle of the lines is impressive, easily casting a broad horizontal line from the mount point of the laser. The DW088LR is very easy to use and is a fine level instrument, as good as much high priced line lasers.

This 3 beam laser level is excellent, and is a great choice if you want to save time and avoid hassles while doing precise work. It's very simple and intuitive to use, with 3 separate buttons to turn each of the three 360 beams on or off separately. The laser level is very solid and rugged, with metal housing around each of the lasers and rubber overmolding on the laser body. The 12V Max Li-Ion battery and charger is included, along with the green laser glasses, green laser card, and a large heavy duty mounting bracket for use with the strong magnets in the base of the level. It has both The green laser is very bright and crisp and is very visible indoors. The longest test I was able setup indoors was 40 feet, and the beam was bright and easily visible. The specs say that the green laser is visible for up to 100 feet indoors, versus 50 feet for the similar DeWalt red laser levels. The auto leveling pendulum design is excellent and it stabilizes quickly if the level is moved or bumped. However, in my testing outdoors of this green laser model next to the DeWalt DR088LR red laser level, my impression is that the green laser isn't necessarily more visible outdoors than the red laser (see video). When working outdoors with either the red or green lasers at more than 15-20 feet, you will need the glasses and/or the laser card to find the beams and position them accurately. Past 25 feet outdoors, you will probably need the separate laser detector. I found the biggest advantage of this model over the less expensive models, such as the DW088LR, is the 360 beams. The benefit of 360 degree beams is that you have much more flexibility in terms of placement. If you need a horizontal beam, you can place this laser level nearly anywhere in a room without having to reposition to get coverage across multiple walls. With the non-360 lasers, you are often limited to a 120 degree beam, or less, on the horizontal beam, requiring you to place the level far enough away from a wall or reposition it if you are doing a project across multiple walls. It has both 1/4" and 5/8" threads on the bottom of the base for tripod mounting. If you have the budget for this 3-beam green laser model, it's fantastic. If you don't absolutely need 3 beams or don't need to have the additional range of the green lasers, DeWalt makes both a 3 beam red laser model (DW089LR) and also 2 beam red and green models (DW0811LR and DW0811LG).

I used to think that the more expensive laser levels were too expensive, and that they couldn't be worth the extra money compared to the lower end consumer levels. But having used a few of the cheaper laser levels, I can say that this DeWalt laser level is vastly better, and a good value for the price if you value your time and want to produce precise results. There are two features of this DeWalt level that I find valuable that aren't listed in most specs or documentation. First, the most noticeable benefit of this DeWalt laser level over less expensive models I've used is the width / coverage of the lasers, particularly the horizontal beam. My less expensive Bosch level has a relatively narrow horizontal beam--something that isn't listed anywhere in the specs--making it a hassle to use with wider projects or projects that need to span multiple walls. I haven't seen a single (non-360) laser level that clearly lists the beam widths or coverage angles, so you typically won't know until you try one. This DeWalt laser level has a horizontal laser that is around 120 degrees wide, so you get very good coverage at reasonable distances. The vertical beam appears to be even wider, and extends to directly above the level. This is important when you are having to work inside a room and want a horizontal beam that covers multiple walls. With a narrow laser, I've had to reposition the level a few times to get full coverage, and have even had to position the level outside the door of the room to get a wide enough horizontal beam. Having a wide angle horizontal beam is a big benefit. The next feature I value in this DeWalt model is the pendulum design. This might sound insignificant, but it really reduces setup time and frustration when trying to match an existing line or reposition the level. My less expensive Bosch has an unweighted pendulum that bounces around for a several seconds when moved, and it's surprisingly tedious to work with--if there is any bump or movement you have to wait for it to stabilize. The DeWalt appears to have a weight or magnet to help dampen the pendulum, so it levels very quickly. It really makes a difference. This red beam level comes with a battery pack that accepts four AA batteries. This is a great way of keeping the cost down, as it does not include a Li-ion battery or charger. The AA option is very convenient and inexpensive. This kit also includes red laser glasses, a red reflective laser card, and a large mounting bracket that can be screwed to a wall or clipped to an acoustic ceiling grid. The kit comes in a hard plastic carrying case. Now that I've used this laser level and compared it to the cheaper models I own, I understand the extra value that you get for the higher price. It might seem a bit expensive, but if you value your time and want to get work done efficiently and accurately, I think this level is worth the investment. Two final notes: 1. Red vs. Green. If you are working indoors in spaces where you need less than 50 feet of range, this red laser should be fine. It's easily visible indoors. If you need more than 50 feet of range, or need a brighter laser, consider the green lasers, which are slightly brighter and have better range indoors. 2. Indoor vs. Outdoor. This laser works great indoors, but is tougher to use outdoors. If you are regularly using it outdoors at distances over 20 feet, you will likely need the glasses, laser card, and perhaps also the separate detector.

The DEWALT 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 3-Beam 360 Degree Green Laser Level comes with the DW089LG laser on a 360 degree swivel magnetic bracket with 1/4" and 5/8" female threads for tripods and a keyhole slot to hang from a nail or screw (this bracket does not detach), a drop ceiling bracket, a blow molded plastic case with metal latches, a DVB127 2.0Ah lithium ion battery, a DCB107 charger, green laser enhancement glasses and a green target. Lasers are produced on X, Y and Z axes and can be turned on individually or in any combination with buttons on the unit. The lasers are protected by metal enclosures that will interrupt the green laser lines in four places of a 360 degree circle. The unit also has a master power switch. Lasers are self leveling within 4 degrees. If out of level is between 4 and 10 degrees the lasers will blink. If the out of level exceeds 10 degrees the lasers triple blink. Packaging claims 165 feet of laser range and the manual states accuracy of plus or minus 1/8 inch at 30 feet. The battery level indicator is located on the tool, not on the battery. My particular kit was missing the user manual but I was able to find a PDF version on the DEWALT website. I found the product labeling intuitive which made it very easy to use. The green lines are easy to see indoors and stood out well on floors, walls and ceilings. Unfortunately, outside the lasers are not visible in direct sunlight. Even in shaded areas with the enhancement glasses on it was difficult to see the lines. The self leveling feature worked well and the blinking lines when out of level made it clear adjustments needed to be made. The blow molded case should last for many years and provide excellent protection for the product.

I have several trim and lighting project s at my home and wanted an updated laser level to help. This little machine works great. The lines are so clear and easy to see even in my bright lit kitchen. The lines are crisp and greatly improved over my previous laser level. It is very light weight yet sturdy. It runs on 4 AA batteries that fit into a small battery holder. The batteries lasted a long time but I would think that I would change hem to rechargeable batteries if I were to use this frequently. It comes in a large hard side carry case that has the batteries, protective glasses and some attachment included. There is also room for additional tools or accessories as needed. It is a bit pricey to purchase, but for me the simple fact that it did such a great job and made my projects run smoother made it worth the cost.

I can’t even see the beam when only 8 feet away while using outside. It is proving to be horrible with my outdoor projects
