The hedge trimmer attachment is fast and easy to install and remove, and it works great.

This hedge trimmer is very heavy, and when attached to the string trimmer, it's not easy to use. I ended up returning it.

I bought this attachment to compliment my Cordless Dewalt Grass Trimmer. I have only used it once so that is the reason for the 4 star rating. If the unit continues to work well then I will change the rating.

It is heavy and awkward to use. It does not cut nearly as well as my dedicated Dewalt hedge trimmer. The gear assembly gets super hot when it’s being used. I’m returning this.

Worked good. Heats up a bit.

A bit heavy once the attachment is mated to the power head but does an awesome job of trimming.

Not wide enough. Extensions with couplers not available. Cuts only very small weak growth. Bad customer service from DeWalt. Home Depot has no selection of tools for it.

It needs to be more heavy duty at least the gears I was trimming my bush and it caught a twig and snapped I think it broke the gear the blade stopped moving

I should have read the reviews and took note ! Litterally used for a few minutes and it broke ! Very frustrating and very suprising from Dewalt

Great tool. My old one’s battery won’t release so I can recharge it. I will contact DEWALT about this. Then retool with brush attachment and hedge trimmer are great.

Not able to use it as the power head broke before I was able to use it

I was trimming a small hedge, it stop working didn’t have it on more then 30 seconds. It looks well made but it will not work. Taking it back to Home Depot.

I’ve got a ton of DeWalt tools and all are great and dependable however, this is the first time that I’ve had an out of box failure with anything from them (hello China??) There is a disconnect between the square drive end that goes in the power head and the gears. Basically we have a drive train failure. I’m an engineer and have checked everything and my findings point to the gear box which I’m not willing to fix since I just got this thing today. I’ll return this hedge trimmer and give them another shot with a replacement because I’m so deep in Dewalt tools and batteries that trying a new brand would be like reinventing the wheel for me, I guess we’ll see if this unit is worth keeping.

Great product, dewalt is the way to go.

Easy installation, but it takes a little bit of time for the blades to start moving upon starting up

I'm using with 60v Dewalt string trimmer head so have plenty of power. This thing will not cut thru a 3/16" limb on a boxwood. It is not very sharp. Finally got my boxwoods shaped up after using hand pruners to cut larger limbs. This replaces an old black and decker hedge trimmer which actually worked better.

I already had a "regular" hedge trimmer, but there were lots of tall bushes that needed trimming, and even going on a very stable "A" type ladder didn't work well with wide bushes, you just couldn't reach far enough very easily. So, I got this, to go with my DeWalt Flexvolt 60V string trimmer. It works very well, but it is by necessity top heavy and gets tiring. It came with some sort of lanyard which I didn't use, with cutting at all sorts of heights and angles, I don't see how it would help. It does what I had hoped it would.

I used this hedge trimmer for five minutes before it broke. I took it apart to see what happened and found that the pinion gear is not held in place properly. I tried to reach out to Dewalt about getting it fixed and the process is long, cumbersome and you might be found liable for damaging the tool. I did not get much past trimming leaves so I do not think it is possible that I damaged it. I found similar complaints online about this trimmer. I would stay away from this one!

It operates too slow and too heavy ..

Awesome attachment that I purchased along with the Flexvolt grass trimmer. This bolts right on easily and looks like it will last awhile. It works great as it can be tilted to 90 degrees, which is one of the reasons I bought it. I can reach one of my tall hedges now and also reach across more sections when straight out. This was so worth it along with the standard grass trimmer. I wished that it was available as a package deal for less, though.
