I bought this last fall 2021. Worked great. Used it a couple times this summer and noticed the spool head cap was getting thinner. Used it a total of 6 times this summer and the cap blew up in pieces, almost injuring my toddler 20 feet away playing In the yard. I'm trying to get a replacement cap but it seems to be very difficult, any one else have the same issues.

The second time I used this product the head broke. The spindle split in half. I have tried to re move the nut to change the head and can't. Highly dissatisfied the cost of this product versus the durability.

I have 2 spools. I've been through 3 caps. Can't find the caps to purchase. Based on the reviews here, this is a common problem. Please advise how I can get replacement caps.

I'm a 60 year old Nana and it took me about 3 minutes to study how to change the head and then about 1 minute to do it. Wow how easy!!!

I have a DCST920 Trimmer. I have had it two seasons and it has worked well. Now the spool head broke on the side and top. I have owned other trimmers for years and they have never broken open. Wish the spool was as good as the rest of the trimmer!

Actually it did not fit the trimmer and there is no part available to fix the trimmer I purchased from Home Depot in October 2021. I am very unhappy with the purchase and the fact that DeWalt does not have parts available for a trimmer that was sold in late 2021. Will never purchase DeWalt products again and will not purchase equipment from Home Depot when you sell products that are obsolete the minute you purchase them. I plan to return the part I purchased.

I too am disappointed with the spool head design/construction on this trimmer. Something broke on the spool head during the 3rd use of this product. Now when I use the trimmer, the string continuously feeds and wraps around the spindle. I love both the trimmer and blower I purchased in this combo pack, but I'm disappointed I need to purchase a new spool head after less than 10 hours of use.

First a truism: "The big print giveth, and the small print taketh away." The big print, what it can do, is on the outside packaging, The small print inside, only after you take it home, says what it cannot do. Which is that it cannot use the more aggressive string with cutting edges for heavier growth, nor other manufactures string. So not for the professional landscaper and not for the serious DIYer. Marketing:"A legal form of deception." Take it home, and decide to put up with it because the other vendors are probably lying as well. The trimmer disk broke changing the string head so I could not risk taking it off without the whole trimmer being disabled.

Did not feed line out with ore assembled line. Would not recommend this product.

Easy to put on once you understand you need a screwdriver to remove the old one. Didn't know it came with string which was a nice surprise.

Broke after maybe 3 months of use. After reading reviews, this unfortunately sounds pretty typical.

This trimmer is much heavier than expected. The line has become tangled on several occasions. It is very difficult to reload the line.
