Definitely pleased with my purchase. It's nice having tools organized in a box instead of tossed in a bag. Gave it only 4 out of 5 cuz the wheelie box was not as well build as the smaller two. Big one had cheap hinges w one washer and screw. 2 other ones had nice metal bracket w 3 screws.

really nice product would have given 5stars but am a little skeptic on the handle release and axles. It is built really well but the axle may take a beating as well as the release handle. We shall see as I am going to beat the heck out of this thing. Im using it for a merch container for my touring band. It will be thrown in and out of our van and abused. I think it will take the abuse and definitely recommend it to others! Quality is far superior to the ridgid and the husky brands hands down. I love it.

After reading too many reviews, here's my opinion Pro: Sound is nice. Bass is definitely there; but it isn't bloated. It puts some car audios to shame. Can be used upright, on its side or back Easy to use. Simple design. Presets easily. No external antenna. Internal is pretty good. Rubber feet for your wood floors Cons: Power plug- some want it bigger/heavier, but it'll make the whole product heavier. to each their own. I'm not sure if this is a con. Dewalt is starting to mix their battery stuff up. Max Battery capacity is 4 or 5 amps. i.e. your new 6amp flexvolt might not fit. I use a 20v 2amp battery and it lasts well over 4 hrs. Sorry. I'm too lazy to test this. Battery compartment foam is not the best way to lock the battery. Compartments are a little limited; but expected for its size. USB charger could be better Overall: I'd recommend it for someone that loves sound quality and doesn't need a heavy cord with multiple plugs.

I really like this case for my tools. It is very handy that it stacks and locks into the other cases. I also have the large case with the built in wheels (like a hand truck). I have four different cases, (one large with wheels, one medium and two smaller cases) all stacked together. My only negative comment I have with this case, are the two fold down yellow containers, that are attached to the lid on the inside of the case. These two containers are two small to really hold anything and are in the way for storage of larger items. I use this case for the storage of my trim router and the accessories that go with it. I did remove the two yellow fold down containers. The two yellow containers and the four yellow that bins that came with the case, are now on my workbench and used for small odd parts.

Holds up in cold weather better than most plastic tool boxes. I would recommend this for the tradesman who needs a durable box that can take a beating in the back of a truck. We modified the box to accept equipment we need top protect. The previous boxes for this equipment had to be replaced quite often and would crack a month or two into use, the new boxes are doing much better in our work environment. Bob H.

bought this radio for work and play, have to say I'm impressed, I can hear it clearly over the rivet guns and other power tools at work, as for battery life on my 2ah battery It seems to last awhile but I normally have it plugged in, so I can't really say too much on that aspect

Yes they're truly TOUGH and hold a lot of stuff!
These new DeWalt cases are made from glass-nylon reinforced polycarbonate. That’s one of the toughest, most resilient yet lightweight materials known to man. But there are other features in the DeWalt design that makes this a top choice. For one, the SIZE. As you can see from the photos, I used this to hold BOTH my cordless Driver and Drill with batteries installed. Notice the photo that shows only the driver with the bit carrying case. See how the bit-case nestles into the handle of the driver? That actually fits so well it holds the driver securely so it doesn’t move during transport. Another photo shows how you can pack the drill on top of that so it too is held securely when the lid is closed. Both of those have batteries installed so they are ready to work. No fumbling to find and install a battery. Just grab and GO! Those LARGE yellow bins lock securely into detent-tabs of the case. They also stay put even if you’re rough on your tools at the end of a hard day. Go ahead and throw them in your truck. The nails, batteries and precious tools all stay put. You won’t find a messy nuisance of scattered screws or the pain of a broken tool. I like the fact that they are large enough to hold an entire BOX of screws or nails. There are other similar tool boxes on the market, but so far, only the DeWalt has these LARGE bins that actually fit whole boxes of fasteners. By throwing WHOLE BOXES of fasteners into these large bins, that saves me the trouble of labeling each bin. The boxes themselves show me what’s inside. I can also just grab the whole box instead of a handful of fasteners. Notice the yellow rim around the perimeter of the box. That is a rubber gasket that helps prevent water from infiltrating. It works! I tested it by filling a tub with water and submerging the box. No water got inside. On each side of the main box, there are shallow flip-down holders. They have dividers that make perfect places for special drill bits, extra long driver bits and odd small fasteners. These two bins lock closed securely and then flip back up to lock in position securely. The metal latches are super sturdy. Unlike some other designs that have plastic latches and hinges, DeWalt engineers chose steel. Steel flexes to conform yet remains solid when locked. Despite their durability, these are easy to open so I never felt like I’d bust a knuckle operating the latches. As you can see from the photo, you can pack plenty of tools and fasteners into these! I got A cordless Drill and Driver, BOTH with batteries installed, PLUS two spare batteries, all my DeWalt bits in the case, plus specialty bits and still had room for SIX whole boxes of fasteners. You could get more in if you had to. These are PRO quality and live up to the “TOUGH system“ name! Good design makes them more convenient and versatile than most other boxes I’ve seen. You really should check these out in person to see and feel the quality. These photos show one way to organize drilling and driving stuff. I'm sure others will find their own uses too!

      Rugged Tool Box
This is a ruggedly built tool box, with a large comfortable handle and the ability to be used as a standalone box or joined together with other boxes in this series (or used with a metal carrier). The latches are large metal pieces that securely holds the box closed. Four removable inserts are provide, to organize smaller parts as well as two hinged, swing-down trays for small parts or, for example, drill bits, which, when placed in the “stored” position are latched closed to prevent spillage of the contents. These trays, while convenient, also appear to be the only weak-link in the construction and will, no doubt, be the first component to meet its demise if subjected to arduous duty. The latch assemblies are retained by a screw, so it appears that they are replaceable, if damaged. While ruggedly constructed, the box itself is not overly heavy, permitting more “stuff” to be carried in it. All in all, a nicely made box.

Just got this today and have only played around with it for about 20 minutes but so far, very impressed. I had the older model dewalt for about 5 years and it finally died on me. Upgraded to this and it's just that, a huge upgrade! Sound quality is very very good, was not expecting it to be so good. Lots of highs and really good bass. Gets very very loud and no distortion like the older model. There may be some if you turn the bass, treble, and highs all the way up but at mid level on bass and the other two up, sounds great. I like the fact that you can charge your radio battery and phone with this unit. Easy to connect to Bluetooth. Radio menu takes a little bit to get used to but overall very user friendly. Nice buttons and screen display. Easy pop up flap to store phone and MP3 player and cords. Don't think anyone will be disappointed in this radio. Don't know about battery life yet, hopefully it will last at least 8 hours on battery, that's what I got out of older model. If you want a great sounding rugged radio buy it.

Had about 3 months now. Snatched one when first delivered to Home Depot. Great box. Lost a star and a half because: Scenario: you are on knees, need to pull box closer without standing up. 1) With handle in down position, cannot roll box by tilting back. A second latch position 1" above bottom would add versatility. (see image, only about 1/4" (1 paint stick) clearance 2) No pull handle near Dewalt logo, so you must resort to pulling the box towards you by grasping front panel, and plastic cracks at lock loop hole. (see image) Add material to this area and a recessed pull near bottom where case is stronger. Haven't turned over, but hoping there are nubs or feet on bottom molded in to prevent wear from sliding. 3) Handle release gets temperamental, sometimes hard to release to extend, sometimes when extended locking mechanism doesn't engage on a side. Give handle a twist helps center, but should have been avoided by design. Would I buy again? Yes, hoping that plastic crack doesn’t indicate future problems with case’s integrity and the bottom has raised skids (sacrificial).

This radio is great! We have bought other Dewalt radios before and this one is certainly the best. It gets LOUD and the sub makes the music sound perfect. I was scared when I was buying it that my boyfriend's phone wouldn't fit in it because he has a huge phone, but it does, which makes it even better! The ONE thing I don't like about it is the weight. It is REALLY heavy, but once I get the rest of the tough system it won't matter as much. All in all a great product.

The carrier has met all my expectations. I use it to carry my Tough System Boxes on job sites and have used the bottom deck to transport my saws and portable compressor, I also use it as a storage rack in the garage since I am constantly moving tools and power equipment around.

This product has a lot of potential and my expectations I admit were fairly high partly because this is a Dewalt product which I happen to think makes great tools. A friend of mine has a Ridged mobile tool cart similar to this one and had cool features and strong and sturdy. I thought this would blow that out of the water but after I got all the pieces and began putting them together I am contemplating returning this and getting the much cheaper and more user friendly Ridged Mobile tool cart. First off this thing is pretty bulky. The carrier is basically a furniture dolly with arms that hold in place the tool boxes that are part of the "Tough Systems" line. My thoughts were that the arms would be easily adjustable to quickly and efficiently allow different size tool boxes for different jobs but this is not the case. These arms are held into place on the outside bars by a bolt and nut that you need an Allen wrench to loosen. If that wasn't bad enough half of the arms had bolts that were already stripped making it extremely difficult for me to adjust to the different boxes that I bought. Access to the tool boxes themselves are also horribly designed. To get you something on the bottom you would have to take off everything on top unless you provide space in between the boxes.

I'm a remodel contractor and I have a garage full of tools, mostly yellow DeWalt tools, which I absolutely love. I've been using three Husky bags, one of them being the 18" rolling tool bag, to carry the tools I use most on a daily biases. Decided to give this unit a try, along with the medium and smaller tool box. First off the boxes and hand cart, which is attached to the lower box, is very well made and looks like it would last for a long time. So I got about half way through emptying the three Husky tool bags into the three DeWalt tool boxes, and I ran out of room, mostly for small hand tools and fasteners. The larger bottom box was plenty big enough to hold seven cordless tools, and a few smaller hand tools in the upper tray, the second medium box held the remainder of larger tools like hammers, pry bars, clamps, and wrenches. but then I still had a bag and a half of smaller hand tools to transfer over from the Husky bags. For me at least, the Husky bags worked out much better for holding all of the tools I tote around day to day. Because of all the pockets and slots on the inside and outside of each bag, they offer a more efficient use of space than the DeWalt boxes, and they're lighter and smaller to boot, plus I know where eveything is at. Dewalt should come up with a tool box that works with this unit, that is lined with nylon pockets and slots for smaller tools. Other than that, I think these are great boxes, but more suitable for carrying larger hand tools.

              Love the sound!!
Sounds is amazing, plus the 2 bass speakers on the bottom is a plus and is a charger too, Bluetooth is exellent, the only negative issue is that if you have a Samsung or iPhone plus will not fit in the compartment on top, and it doesn't have outlets for the high price$. Other than that i love it, best radio i ever owned,

                Awesome Radio
This thing is seriously awesome... I've never heard a jobsite radio sound this good before. To address some things i've seen in other reciews, the compartment is easier to open than others have stated, i've had no problems with that, and that battery fits nice and snug. Someone also said that the radio wasnt as loud as they expected, and i cant imagine it being any louder, or clearer. I have to agree with the reviewer that said that Dewalt and Bose must have gotten together on this one, because the sound is amazing. Well worth the money.

Awesome System With One Significant Flaw
This review is for the Tough System DS Carrier along with the Tough System toolboxes (DS 300, DS 150, and the DS 400). All highly recommended. See attached photos! This carrier is a BEAST! I've nicknamed it "The Monster Truck." It's square-pipe frame is rugged and I don't expect it to be damaged by anything anytime soon. The wheels are large and solid. It's nice that the loading "tray" folds up for storage. The durable plastic arms which you slide the DS boxes onto fold inward so that the carrier becomes a hand-truck for moving heavy items, further increasing this tool's utility. (You'll need an Allen Key to remove the plastic arms because one was not provided. I forget which size key.) The significant flaw I mentioned in the title of this review is that it is difficult to roll this carrier through common, finished door-frames. I've attached a picture to demonstrate this. You have... maybe a half inch of space on either side of the carrier as you roll through a finished door frame? Be very careful if you're using this carrier inside a client's nice house as you might rub against and damage painted surfaces. The DS 300, DS 150, and the DS 400 boxes are tough and they hold A LOT! They're also an incredible value for the price; I expect to own this system for life. You'll notice in the photos that I've made a slight modification to the DS 300 toolbox: I've drilled holes into the top so that a light-duty, removable vise can be mounted to the top of the box. Unfortunately, none of these boxes have a "V-way" built into their lids, so if you're trying to secure a pipe you're out of luck. I do NOT recommend using the yellow, plastic clips on the side of the boxes. They don't inspire confidence: I'm paranoid that they'll break under load and a DS system box will crash onto my foot. Otherwise these boxes are fantastic!

                  Dewalt Tough Radio...AWESOME
Ok there is only one way to say this. AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Finally a radio I like. Tough, convenient but most importantly SOUNDS GREAT.....It runs on the battery when you unplug it without skipping a beat, radio picks up great, but I love the blue tooth the best. I plug my phone into the USB port, turn on Bluetooth and BAM...phone charges and plays the music, when a call comes in it mutes the music so you know you have a call. I am so glad I bought this radio/charger. I got the whole tough system and I set this on top, on sight I plug in and charge a battery and my phone. I simply love this radio.

                  Dewalt Toughsystem Radio
Just picked this up yesterday and after playing with it for 15 minutes I have this to say, Dewalt calls it their toughsytem radio, which it is, it looks tough and it sounds tough. The audio will easily fill your clients house, if they aren't home...but in order to achieve the IP54 dust rating, and to make it modular with the Toughsystem they left out some very important features. There are no additional outlets. To make it modular they are using a 12 volt adapter with a giant plug and a wimpy jack into the unit. In a world of extension cords, homemade 4 gang power supply's, and one outlet for all the subs, a massive jack plug is out of the question. This is a big expenditure of money and space for music. It does offer a protected phone case, which is nice, and its is bluetooth which is also nice, and it does charge batteries, but the battery charger is pretty tight. Good luck getting anything higher than a 2 mah battery in there. Dewalt makes 5 different 20v batteries, this will maybe charge three of them. For a flagship product line, this is low on features, whats worse is they still have a 20v battery charger, radio, and power supply model in their line for less money, just not this "big bad toughsytem ultimate jobsite radio".

                  DEWALT Tough System Radio
I have been looking for a Bluetooth sound system that was convenient, simple and loud enough. It has 4 full range tweeters, a passive subwoofer and an active subwoofer. You feel the 360 surround sound when the music is played because the speakers are on all corners. The Bluetooth connects to any smart device (phone, tablet, including laptops and desktops). You can charge your device from the USB port provided. There is a protective compartment in the music system that protects your phone. This is the music kit best for your job site. It’s dust and water resistant as well. You can also listen to FM radio station if you do not have a Bluetooth device available. The plastic is very sturdy. The touch and feel will tell you the product is well built and can be used in rough environments. You’ll be able to run the system from an AC outlet or by using your 12V/20V batteries.

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words........All I can say is I am sold on the DeWalt Tough System. I looked at it as an outdoor tool chest. Onyou buy your fist one and see the great value it is hard to stop collecting. Great for storing your tools for outdoor and/or in door use. Water tight, air tight and keep your tools dust free when not in use.

I had it shipped to my Home Depot. When I picked it up it came in huge box. I was shocked at the size and quality. I drove home with my jaw on my lap. I bought the large box, the 2 drawer chest and the small box. Everything fit nicely. I just had to buy some regular shackle MasterLock resetable combination locks that fit perfectly around both holes on the boxes.

Heavy duty, easy to use and store
Built very well, and like that it folds flat for easy storing. We went to our local Home Depot to get two of the boxes for this system, but they don't stock them and they looked at every store within 2 hours of us and none of them stocked the boxes either, so we had to order them online and are waiting for them to be delivered. But the carrier itself so far has been very rugged, we have used it to haul a heavy grill through snow because the delivery truck couldn't get down our driveway with the ice and snow, and the large wheels made it easy to move. When we do get the boxes I liked that there is a built in metal rod that you can fold over the back of the boxes and attach a lock, so that people can't steal your boxes off the carrier. It is also extra wide, so you can move a lot of things on it, but it is still designed to fit through a standard doorway so you can roll all your tools into a house or shop door. Can't wait to get the rest of the boxes, and if they are made as rugged as this carrier it will be a great system.
