This is my first Forstner bit and it worked well, especially considering its reasonable price. The job was 12 shallow holes in fir 2 x 4 s, all good. Then I tested it on a piece of oak firewood which it also cut easily, even with a deliberately interrupted cut - see picture. (Used a light duty 5 amp drill press.)

I needed this specific size for a custom project. Would have preferred a carbide version for the limited use but this is just plenty fine. Arrived on schedule, did the job it was supposed to do.
I’d have gladly paid another buck to have it be in a package that would keep it safe when in the drawer. If you’re gonna do a ton of holes, spend the dollars and get carbide bits. For occasional use, HSS saves dollars for sure.
