Using the 5/8 bit to make slots for 1/2 copper pipe to fit in. It's a perfect cut, perfect size, snug fit. This will be for a shoe rack, and I expect it to turn out quite nicely.

Absolute Powerhouse! These bits by Diablo last me at least a year of heavy hole drilling and even after a year they are still plenty sharp! I used this bit in particular to drill holes for a pegboard training wall to go with our rock wall and the holes were so clean and smooth I didn't have to sand or touch up anything at all! Make sure the drill you are using is a work horse because this bit will whip your drill into shape. It also fits in a 3/8" chuck if you are wondering.

I was really impressed with how clean of a cut this forstner bit provided, but it has to be used on a high-speed drill. This bit is about as sharp as a knife and is meant for cutting very clean holes/depressions in a finished piece, such holes a spade bit cannot reliably do. My first project with the bit was cutting depressions to fit dowels for a children's play ladder. The bit drilled quickly but allowed for good depth control. It cleaned saw dust and cuttings out very well. The center spur is a great feature for accurate holes as well. Ideally, you want to use this bit on a drill press but I was able to level it well on my hand drill. I used my DeWalt XR at it's fastest mode (2,000 RPM) and the holes were near flawless. I experimented at a slower speed on scrap wood and the hole splintered. This bit fits a 3/8" chuck and is made in Austria, so you know it is quality. The bit also needs to remain sharp so store it well.

I needed to relocate a European hinge on a cabinet as it interfered with the sink. I used a drill stand and this bit cut the perfect hole in the cabinet door. No rough edges, clean as a whistle, worked like a charm. Job done!

Put 3 holes in 168 pieces and still leaves a clean edge hole.

Drill bit performed great. I needed to recess a place for a dowels. Bit was very sharp and made the cut effortlessly.

Never this particular bit because I was putting metal ballisters on my deck and this thing worked like a dream,,would definitely recommend it and if I need any bigger sizes for next project I’m definitely getting them

Needed to inset magnetic sensors for an alarm system as they could not be surface mounted due to the closeness of the frame to the doors and windows. Rather than chisel the entire thing, I used this bit to start the cuts and then just finished the inset with a wood chisel. Of course my router was not only in the wrong state, but would not have worked because of the clearance needed. This did a great job, and eyeballing the depth needed was sufficient to get me exactly what I needed. Clean cuts, flat bottoms, even if drilling into a partly cut opening. I was careful to always be able to center the bit over an uncut area. Included two pictures.

Worked excellent for the project we did

I wanted to install a length of 2" pvc conduit to run several cables between the attic and basement. (I am a ham radio operator.) I was a little intimidated having to drill such a large hole through double 2 x 4's. When I described my project to the gentleman at Home Depot, he showed me this drill bit and said this is the tool you need. He was absolutely correct. The holes are beautiful and the conduit slipped through easily. I am very pleased.

great for building a climbing peg board, use (2) 3/4” plywood sheets glued together.

Makes perfect holes for 3/4" wood dowels, clean and fast.

It made our project simple and quick.

I used the bit to mortise hinges on new wood shutters I installed, a technique I learned about on www.thisoldhouse.com The bit was steady, and cut neatly and cleanly, making the job much quicker.

I was impressed with the sharpness, and smoothness of this pit out of the package. Unfortunately... after some 20 holes in soft select 1x6 pine it started to get dull. Started experiencing pretty bad tear out. And trying to push a dull bit through wenge, or purple heart? Forget about it.

Used this bit to countersink over 100 1/2 lag screws and washers in my barn and still is as sharp as when I took it out of the package

I purchased the Diablo 1/2 inch Forstner bit for use in my wood crafts. I am retired on a veteren disability on got into making yard games. I make yard dice and yard dominoes that needed to have holes drilled in them that made a clean cut and this Forstner bit does just that. they go through even knots without chipping them out or pushing off to one side. I really don't have anything bad to say about the product.

I used this bit to Create holes in 2x12 boards to make handrails in a ships ladder for our loft. Cut nice and straight and made quick work out of the job.

Couldn't have asked for better results than I obtained with this Forstner bit. I used this bit to make Christmas stocking stuffers.

I need to drill twenty (20) 1-1/2" holes to build a stall bar rack. This bit worked flawlessly. It did get hot so I needed to wait in between holes but any bit will get hot. The holes were centered and the right size. It clears the chips well. I sanded the ends of the 1-1/2" maple dowels a little to allow for the glue because they were fitting almost to tight. The bit still looks new. No complaints.

Easy to use. Super smooth drilling. Excellent finishing. The holes are just like I wanted.
