I needed this bit to drill holes into the dry root ball of a tree, so water and nutrients could get in. Never did anything like that before, but this bit worked very well, along with the drill I rented elsewhere. It was worth the expense ($40) in order to save my tree. Had I bought a bit where I rented the drill (they don't rent bits), I would have paid that much for a much shorter bit.

Used to drill through landscape railroad ties. Worked great!

Great tool to secure landscaping timbers using rebar.

Agressive drill bit - bites in quickly but with 6" PT timber it really bogged down driver due to limited material removal. Typical 20V cordless drill is marginal for use with this bit - really need beefy driver to power.

When I brought these brand new bits to the job site, one of the electricians told me that I will regret soon purchasing this auger bits because they easily get stuck in the wood. I kind of laughed in my mind, saying that he probably don’t know what he’s talking about, because for many years I used similar drill bits from different brands and never had such a issue. Well, the did got stuck in the wood and I lost both of my brand new auger bits in only 2 days by drilling 5 of 6”-8” of wood.

Diablo products continue to be the very best. Razor sharp cutting edges. Storage case protects the drill .

These bits cut through good and make decently fast holes. They do dull out somewhat faster than expected.
