Ok. I expected a lot got probably what I should have expected. I purchased 8 sets and no extra. 80% of these boards were warped, many super-severe. It is a joke. All of these boards should have been banded together when packaged to help prevent wrapping, Three boards should be fairly strong to prevent warp. Most of my bottom rails are cocked at 30 degrees on opposite sides. The only reason this will work is I am painting everything (not spindles). Including the rail supports which I painted with plastic adhering paint. I purchased all new screws for treated lumber and tossed the included ones. I planned for this in the beginning. Maybe the pre-assembeld version of this kit fixes this issue? I would not recommend this at all.

The holes did not align , top to bottom on two sets of railings. That was part of the reason I bought manu railings .

The kits are fine. The wood is often warped and the holes didn't line up, but can be cut custom to work. It's not as easy as it appears to use these kits, you'll have to do some carpentry to make them look right

This railing kit arrived, well packed, and disassembled in a box. I was expecting the pressure treated version would be milled the same as the cedar version I bought directly from the local HD store, but the milling was slightly different. After modest modification on the router table it was close enough. The top rail is cut at the same length as the two spindle support rails. Once the brackets meant to attach the spindle assembly to the posts are added, the top rail comes up a heavy 1/8"short. Since I used an alternative painted steel bracket, this gap became a fat 1/8" on each end. They should have added length to the top rail. I purchased 3 of these kits. A few of the pieces had defects, knots, wane, bows or cracks. Chamfers on the associated posts (ordered separately) are irregularly cut - sloppy work. I was able to place these in less visible places. It appreciated that these kits are available in PT, as in my part of the country, wood used outside rots quickly without it. The product quality control could be better.

This is a very effective, functionally sound and attractive railing solution. I have ordered, assembled and installed over a dozen of these complete and comprehensive kits. They take a finish well, install easily and the overall manufacturing quality as shipped prior to assembly is very consistent. There are reviews that argue about high warpage…while those kits I’ve used had some variance in straightness, for me personally it has not been an issue. Hey - it’s WOOD! These pieces are 6+’ long! If you assemble and install properly, it is no issue. Excellent product for the price, particularly if you are willing and capable of DIY.

I've used these railings on my back deck a couple of years ago. Very satisfied with overall quality and wood used as part of kit. This time the wood quality was really poor and machining finish very rough. The biggest issue was that the mounting brackets are too tall/long which makes proper installation of the top railing with cap impossible. I had to uninstall railings and cut top brackets about 1/2" in order to allow the top railing to set flush against the 4x4 post.

It looks great but it wasn't as easy to put together as it could have been. Better instructions on how to keep the rails from falling out while installing the top cap would be helpful.

Wood has lts of defects that should habe been caught at factory

The railing kit was delivered with no damage. It was easy to install. My husband and I are both retired and we were able to add these railings to the deck my husband built without any real issues. The only complaint we have is a couple of the top rails were warped and aren’t straight. We couldn’t get the warped rail to connect to the next section with out looking a bit out of line. Overall, this was a pretty good product for the price.

first I To wait almost 2hrs. for them to find my order at the Cleburne store. then I get it home and get time to look at the Rails and some them are worped so bad I dont know if I will be able to use them.

No..... we received a used one that just the top rail had already been stained a dark color and we returned it. Why would you even send a used one when we paid for a brand new on? Still waiting for another one to come back in stock, that was a month ago, about to give up on Home Depot.

A lot of the railings come in defective not from shipping but from factory releasing defective product.

Light railing. These are probably good for outside, I am using on an indoor project. They are, like everyone else said, real ruff finish wise, but that is the type of cedar being used. They have sat in the house for weeks drying, and haven't shone any cracking to speak of.

Based on other reviews I read, I must be one of the lucky ones - no warped railings, no missing pieces. Though one of the railings had some imperfections, it was nothing I couldn't live with. When sanded down, finished and water sealed - then, installed - it looks great. Make sure you have a square drill bit for bracket screws -- this was a feature I really don't like. Trust me, I have never done much of this kind of work - and, my finished product looks better than we expected. Which means, anyone out there can do this! SUGGESTION: Have everything shipped to your local store for pickup - and, check through everything before you take home. Too much hassle otherwise, if you have warps or missing pieces.

I would give a 4.5 rating. The product is as advertised. I would have given it a 5.0 if the wood would have had less knots and voids. I realize that the wood is a natural product, and knots are part of the product, but a little pre-inspection before manufacture, and rejection of wood with very large knots and voids, would have produced a more uniform product. Easy to install stain or paint

Love the product easy to install!

It has been more difficult to disassemble the old deck than to install the deckorail. I am glad I decided to do this project.

Wood was warped and brackets were different from the last order. Fortunately I only needed 2 ft. Needed to trim the wood differently. All in all it ended up looking great.

These kits did not come with the correct brackets. I contacted the company they were aware and said they would try to locate some of the older brackets and email me. They have never done so. I have never heard back from them. With that said I called Home Depot and they got me the brackets I needed.
