I have refinished a ton of furniture for customers and for my own home and this product is just OK. Firstly it is important to understand that it is not at all a wax. It is more similar to a matte acrylic glaze. The negatives are it is tacky and runny while applying, difficult to apply evenly to a larger surface, seems to be less durable than a real wax finish, and really leaves a raw, unfinished, unprofessional look. Also it will yellow if applied too thickly or if it accumulates in corners. The positives are it is not smelly and toxic, and it can brush on and buff up nicely on smaller sized pieces like picture frames or mirrors. Also cool is that if you really like the raw, chalky look, and get frustrated by the rich sheen that real waxes provide, this does actually give that chalky finish and does not deepen the color of the paint at all. For my purposes (resale and painting for clients) I am more comfortable with other products.

First time I’ve used wax. Absolutely love it!! And it lasts. I have done a huge antique banquet table and 5 dining chairs and I still have more than half!!

I purchased this wax to finish several items I painted in the lace chalky finish. It works great and is very easy to use.

The wax gave a nice luster to my chalk painted furniture.

Not rave-worthy. It kind of did change the color of the paint so it isn't REALLY clear. I would have preferred it to actually dry a bit whiter if anything rather than making the paint a bit darker. Decent product though and affordable. I needed something over the paint I used to make it smoother (since I painted a coffee table).

Used wax to cover chalk paint on 3 different pieces and was very easy to apply. Covered well and made for a great finished product.

I chalk paint, distress and wax pieces of vintage furniture for a living. I chalk painted and distressed a very ornate book shelf. It looked great! Then, instead of using my regular wax product, I decided to try the Home Depot Valspar brand of wax for "chalky finish" paint. It was the consistency of runny pudding so it went on easy. When I wiped it off, it was shiny like shellac!! I tried to dull it with steel wool---nothing! I tried TSP again and again.....now it is splotchy shiny. I have spent hours and hours needlessly on this piece. If you want a shiny, mirror like finish that is bullet proof, this is the product for you. This is NOT the finish nor the look that was advertised. I'm mad.

Easy to spread, easy to buff in; protects my furniture and keeps it durable. I've used it over stencils I apply on top of my chalk painted furniture too.

I have a pretty beat up antique coffee table I used this on...It said you can mix with stain so I added some old English scratch cover to about a tablespoon and applied it twice..didn't see much difference at first,but it seems to sink in after a bit..the table is much improved in appearance and has a nice gloss..I bought to use after chalk painting but it truly helped an ugly table also

This was my first time using a chalk paint product and was so pleased with the results.

I love that this product appears to protect the chalk paint beneath, I love that it also gives the chalk paint some depth when applied over it, but I couldn't get a shine no matter how long I buffed. I even applied a thin coat, buffed and applied another one without a lot of success. Rather disappointed in this one.

Not inexpensive, but I'm happy with the results over painted cabinets...this goes over the paint, I buff it out, apply the brown wax, then apply another coat of this. The finished drawer-fronts and doors are easy to clean and seem to be holding up well.....no scratches or scrapes. Would use this product from now on with all of these type of projects

I bought this product because I had tried minwax and hated it and was too cheap to fork out the big bucks for the Annie Sloan. I also bought a waxing brush from another site to use it with. It goes on so easily and buffs to a beautiful shine. I will definitely buy this again! It does a great job and is so much more budget friendly that the other wax out there. It's my new best friend.

Doesn't dry clear on darker projects. It's streaky and cloudy. It's ok on white or light colored chalk paint. With darker colored projects I mix equal parts of this wax and the same color chalk paint and that seems to work fine. The runny texture is a little strange to use over paste, but mixes nicely. I probably won't buy again; miniwax is cheaper and not as streaky.

Absolutely love this brand, it is much cheaper then other brands and works just as well....

A great finish to a great product. Applies white but dries clear. A little goes a long way.
