Retrofit with the satin because the new Kwikset lock came with a plate that didn’t work.

The Defiant Security strike kit is a great buy. It needs up security for your existing or new lock installation. The reason for 3 stars is that the screws that come with the kit are terrible. I pre drilled holes and still snapped the included screws off after about an inch from flush on the 3" screws. All in all a great buy, just purchase better screws.

The plates and short screws in this set are good quality and finish. The 4 long screws however are garbage, worse than garbage actually. I set the torque on my battery-powered drill to "18" when setting the 1st long screw (Max is 24). I predrilled the holes and started driving in the long screw. It torqued off in the pine doorframe and pine 2×4 behind it before even getting all the way in. I set the torque to 14 for the next one and it torqued off too. The same for 3 & 4. What a mess.

These plates strengthen the wall in addition to the locks themselves. Long screws add to the over all strength.

It’s a good heavy duty strike with long screws that should go all the way into the wall studs. It was reasonable to mortise in the plates to be flush. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star is that although the screws are long, they are not very heavy.

The parts fit and were inexpensive.

Installation was a medium due to inset screws rounded out trying to install used new bit would like to see a star screw instead of a Phillips screw

Junk... Don’t waste your money. Screws are inferior. One snapped off in hole... junk!!!

While I was installing the screws broke and the plate bent easily.

Quality was good I liked the orb color and thickness of the metal. Its a simple change to fortify your home. Making the door hopefully harder to break into. I just wish the metal was a bit wider was too narrow for door jam but still worked

Screws are not up to standard for a 3 inch screw. The Phillips head slot stripped out before going all the way in. This was despite the fact that I had predrilled a 1/8" pilot hole. The strike plates are fine, but screws are terrible.
