Well made exhaust fan. Relatively quiet with plenty of power. I installed this unit as a replacement for an existing wall mounted fan. Biggest gripe is the outlet is so close to the front edge of the housing that if you mount the housing flush with the drywall you have to cut a notch in the drywall to attach the vent pipe. Also a couple of pre punched holes in the side to facilitate mounting screws from the inside would be appreciated. No big deal I just made them myself but it would have been nice if they were already there. Lastly the grille though nice and clean looking sticks out too far. Would have and could have been made better if just a little flatter for a more flush appearance. None the less very pleased with this fan. Would definitely recommend to someone else.

This bath fan is not virtually silent but much quieter than old AC motor fan. I didn't have attic access above this fan, So I need direct replacement in terms of cut out size and duct size. It does move air well.

High quality fan, maybe not 2 sones
I bought this fan because it was a great deal for a 2 sones fan, and also because the box dimensions were the same as the one I was replacing. I still had to install the new box (accessing it through the attic--ugh) which was a pain, but at least I didn't have to cut drywall! After wiring it up and everything, installing the fan into the box and putting the cover in place took about 30 seconds. Way easy. The fan is much quieter than my old 4 sones fan but I have a hard time believing it's 2 sones. I would guess 2.5, but then what do I know? It is a really nice, high quality fan though. We've been really pleased!

Good fan, but electrical connection from top could be a problem.
This is a well made fan and a good value compared to others in its size, CFM and sone ranges. Reasonably quiet. Had a problem with installation because the top punch out hole for connecting the wiring to our rigid metal electrical conduit was too close to a metal side wall on the fan. Everything looks like it will fit when the access panel is off for making the connection, but there isn't enough clearance when reassembled. As the result, you could not fit the electrical connector locking nut onto the connector inside the fan housing. Contacted Delta Breeze and they concurred that it is a problem, but they could not provide a viable solution for my problem. Returned the unit and bought a similar one, but this time an electrician used the optional side access punch out hole and it worked OK. The return at my local Home Depot was quick and easy.

This was a great solution to replace an old early '70s wall exhaust.
Nothing else was slim enough to fit in a partition wall. I only had to remove about 1 " of drywall around the perimeter of the old opening to fit it. Plus, it is quiet and energy star rated and a great price, even compared to most other 70 cfm fans. Again, this is a great solution to replacing older, undersized bath exhausts. Hope this helps.

Does not have enough power to evacuate humidity from the shower in a small bathroom.

Nice fan, very quiet. Does a decent exhaust job, but the only reason I don't give it five stars is it doesn't clear out all the steam after a shower in my small bathroom. I wish it cleared more out so I can see in the mirror afterwards.

Huge improvement over the builder grade 50cfm units my house had, the bathrooms vents properly now, it’s awesome.

I used 3 of these exhaust fans to replace contractor grade 50 CFM fans put in my house when it was built. The footprint on these match my old Broan fans, making installation easier. They are definitely quieter as well. I do have a couple of gripes. The taps or wings on the housing, (generally used on new construction to secure these to a stud), are thick and difficult to remove if you don't want to use them. I had to cut them off with a Dremel. I should be able to bend them back and forth and snap them off. Otherwise, you will have to cut a slit in your ceiling drywall to slide the taps thru as your mounting the housing. The other complaint is the damper is thin hard plastic and the flap doesn't always close all the way to prevent a backdraft, even when making sure the ductwork is tilted 1-2 degrees to help keep it closed - just a bit chintzy. Otherwise, these are probably the easiest direct replacement for contractor grade Broan 50 CFM fans.

Easy installation and it fit the cut-out for the builder grade fan that it replaced. There was an obstruction directly above the old fan so I needed a slim design and this worked perfectly. Super quiet fan.

Previous fan was rated 4.5 sone. It sounded like a tractor idling in the attic. None of my girls would run it because they saw the movie “Psycho” and were afraid they wouldn’t hear Norman Bates coming. This one is so quiet that you forget it’s running. Installation was relatively easy. You can install the housing first, then the fan and motor after! Knockout plugs for the power connection were poorly done and were a real pain. Overall I would recommend.

Not as quiet as I hoped it would be, but way quieter than the original. Huge improvement.

very quiet fan. You do need to get three 1 inch wood screws for each housing that you are installing to the ceiling otherwise everything is there but the tools.

Not as quiet as 2 sones
I bought this fan because it has the CFM I needed with a 3 in duct. The installation was easy, but instructions are not very clear on the manual. If you are doing this for the first time like me, make sure you do your research. The reason why I not giving 5 stars is because it is not as quiet as 2 sones (I am getting ~50db, which is pretty much the same I had with the old fan). However, I understand that the sound level might be related to the duct work as well, so I still recommend the product.

      Quit after 3 years
The fan worked well for 2.5 years, and then gradually took longer to start rotating. After 3 years, it finally quit turning on all together. Complete junk, unable to find any locally sourced motors.
