Delta's toilet paper holder with integrated assist bar will surely become the favorite type of bath fixture as people become more and more aware of safety support and fall prevention products. With an aging population it makes perfect sense. The dual function product is very well made with a strong stainless steel bar that is rust proof and in addition provides support up to 300 pounds. It works great with my other chrome finish fixtures in the bathroom.

Got this for our extra bathroom as my mom, 95 years old, visits us occasionally. Instructions included and it replaced the typical toilet paper holder we had installed. Obviously it takes up more room because of the handle bar but fits in nicely between wall and toilet. Mom hasn't visited yet but we tried it out. Husband is 200 lbs and the holder handled his weight well. We made sure both screws went into wood. As we built the home we live in, I made sure as the inside 2/4 went up, I put horizontal 2/4 between some of the vertical ones where I knew I was going to hang heavy pictures or the TV. I also had made sure where the toilet paper holders and towel holders were going, there was also additional horizontal 2/4 added. Our builder who is also a neighbor laughed at me when I was doing this - after we finished our home, he told me he informs new clients to do the same. I am woman, hear me roar!!! This is going to work perfectly for the purpose we selected it.

I saw this grab bar/paper holder some time ago but it was out of stock. I recently ordered it from the Depot and it looks just as nice in hand as it does in the pictures. It is built very well with all metal components. Installation was pretty straightforward for my application. I was able to mount it in place of my standard paper holder with a little touch up afterward. The bolt spread for mounting is 7-1/2 inches. I had placed a 2x6 between studs prior to drywall so I already had a strong mount to stud/wood backer. But if you can hit one stud, it does come with a piece of hardware that allows you to mount to drywall for the other. It works like a toggle bolt on steroids. I would not mount this on a bath vanity as there is no strength on most vanity side panels. The instructions are clear but I needed a magnifying glass to read them, and good illustrations too. This has a swing arm for paper reload. The grab bar itself measures just over 5 inches. Overall width is 9-5/8 inches. A very nice finish that matches well with all the other Delta fixtures in the bathroom. A quality product that will not disappoint.

This is very solid, it takes the place of an assist bar. Mounting requires one side to be mounter to a stud which means you are limited in where you mount it so you have to plan accordingly. I suggest you mark the studs then have whoever you are mounting it for sit on the toilet and determine where it will be the most useful for them. Te toilet paper mount is a simple lif bar which is easy to use for someone with difficulty grasping things.

Not only does this toilet paper holder look great, but it doubles as a comfortable grab bar. I was renovating the bathroom, so I decided to put solid blocking behind the drywall to accommodate the secure installation of this grab bar/toilet paper holder combo. It's very secure and works great. The pivoting toilet paper rod makes changing the roll so simple...very, very clever!

Love the chrome material. This was pretty easy to install, the instructions aren't very clear at first because not everyone has a stud to stud at 6 inches. What you typically do is install a screw into a stud on one side, and drill a 1" hole on the other side and use the non-stud bracket that's included in this product. And it looks great and works great! Very big and sturdy!

Love the venetian bronze! The install was easy overall, I didn't understand the stud and non-stud part of the instructions, but basically what you do is install one side into a stud, and the other side you use the non-stud materials included after drilling a 1" hole and sliding that bracket inside the wall. Everything falls into place after this. And it's a really cool piece to the bathroom. It doubles as an extra paper towel holder, or an assist for the elderly or handicapped. Really cool product. And easy to change out the paper towels.

In my opinion, Delta has always made the prettiest and sturdy fixtures for the bathroom. The built-in assist bar feature is what caught my attention from the beginning. The installation for tapping one stud and using the drywall assist to mount is not so intuitive from the instructions, but not that difficult to install. The most confusing part of this installation were the illustrations. After working with the drywall assist, I finally got it to work. I'm going to install some of these for my mom where I will not use their drywall assist, but I will relocate to the other wall which has slump block behind the drywall. There I will use concrete lags to secure this unit. With all that said, in my home, I am not confident to use the assist bar each and every time I get up, but at my mom's home, I would not hesitate to use the assist bar daily and full weight since it will be mounted into the block wall.

Love this new "disquised" assist bar! It's great to steady yourself while getting up or down. Installation directions were a bit confusing, but we used our best judgment and it turned out great.

This is a very nice decor assist toilet paper holder in bronze color. I like the dark color that we are doing our bathroom in. It was easy to install and the assist handle works great for our age. We decided to go with the dark color accessories instead of the oak color. We wanted our bathroom to look different and now it does, it looks very nice with all the bronze colors.

When you look for quality you usually are disappointed on an selection of an item but this toilet paper holder is over the top with quality. It looks great in the bathroom and should last for years. One of the main things is that you have to secure one side to a stud and the other side with the anchor provided. It is not a normal wall anchor it goes verticale about 5 inches behind the wall so it will support a lot of weight. If you use it for something to hold on to while you sit and get up you should have no problems. if you try to put all of your weight on it to get up or sit down it might not hold you not because of the way the toilet paper holder is made but of the wall anchor. If you are 300 lbs. or more then you should be careful with it. Use common since.

We got the Delta toilet paper holder as well as the matching robe hook and towel rack to use in my son’s bathroom. It is made of metal and is a very heavy unit. The width of the holder is approximately 9 ½ “across. So, it will have to be placed in a rather wide area on a wall stud. Once installed the assist bar can support person up to 300 lbs but not designed to support total weight of individual. Although my son does not require this feature, this would be a nice for someone requiring assistance in rising from the toilet. There are instructions for mounting in stud and non-stud walls. Once installed, the toilet paper holder bar is able to swing up and down. This allows the paper to be placed on the bar with minimal effort.

I was very impressed with the sleek look of the Décor Assist Traditional Toilet paper Holder. I installed this in my guest bathroom, and its was very easy. It shipped in just a few days from ordering, and was packaged well. I have been extremally happy with the service at Home Depot and the quality of Home Depot's products. There is always someone willing to help and give advice in every department.

This thing is HEAVY DUTY. It's an extremely solid holder, and if installed to a stud correctly, it's not going anywhere. It provides more than enough support to be used as a grab/support bar, and is a great design for a paper toilet holder as well. Changing out rolls is extremely easy. Just swing the arm up, replace the roll, and swing the arm back down. DONE. No fussing with spring loaded bars which is nice. This is a little pricey for a toilet paper holder, but if you also are looking to add accessibility options to your bath then this would be a great addition. It just makes sense to have the grab bar and toilet paper holder in one spot.

What an awesome invention!

This is a high quality product that combines a bath tissue holder with an assist bar for people who have difficulty getting on or off the toilet. It is also good looking and adds visual appeal. However the holder will need to be attached to a stud on the wall which means the wall has to be within reach of the holder. If the wall is too far away or if the holder needs to be attached to a bathroom vanity like in many homes it may not work as a support but will work as a holder only.

A new take on a toilet paper holder. Blends the need of a toilet paper holder and a bar to assist one in getting up off the toilet. Recommended to install at least one side on a stud. If you cannot find a stud then attempt to install one side on some sort of support that is sturdy and supported from the ground. If that is not possible than there is support bracket that is included that you will install behind the drywall via drilling a 1" hole and sliding the bracket through the hole and then turn the bracket up while holding the plastic bar that is attached to the bracket to keep the bracket secure against the drywall and so it will not fall in between the wall. The directions were a bit confusing on this part but after reading it a few times the above description is the basic idea of installation of the bracket. I don't think i would put my full weight on this toilet roll assist bar unless it were installed on a stud but it is definitely sturdy enough to put enough weight on it to assist on you getting off the toilet. Great design and surprisingly elegant and fits with most any bathroom decor. Solid piece of work and a bit heavier than most toilet paper holders. All hardware included to help you complete the installation.should take you about 5-10 minutes.

This is a beautiful well designed Toilet paper holder. The sheer weight of it tells you that it's well made and very sturdy. When installed properly this is a great grab bar to assist in standing up after sitting for awhile. The swing up design is nice too, theres no spool holder to mess with you just swing up the arm and install a new roll. I would recommend this be installed with good solid anchors if you are going to use it as an assist bar.

The assist bar is very strong, sturdy and looks great!

We needed an assist handle, but our toilet closets are a bit cramped so there isn’t enough room for a traditional assist bar. Delta designed the perfect solution for tight spaces. These act as a toilet paper holder as well as an assist device. They are beautifully finished, extremely heavy and the paperwork says that they can hold up to 300 pounds. They do require a structural member at least behind one anchor. The other leg can be anchored with the included (very sturdy) behind the wall anchor brace.

It was well made & nice to look at but I ended up choosing the cleaner looking Modern version for all the baths in my home.

You know, we’re all getting a bit older and even with chair height toilets we may still need an assist to get up. The Delta Decor Assist Traditional Toilet Paper Holder with Assist Bar in Stainless is an attractive way to combine the need for an assist bar with a toilet paper holder. The instructions are a bit wordy and would read better in smaller steps rather than paragraphs. While the instructions indicate that you only need to attach one side to a stud, we decided to have both sides attached to wood, for extra strength, so we added a brace wood across the studs to accommodate the width of the holder. This did require us to make a slight opening in the drywall, but it was worth it to us and drywall isn’t that hard to repair.

Attractive and functional. This is the second one we have purchased.First one was polished nickel. That is no longer offered so we purchased the stainless steel one… looks pretty much the same.

Very sturdy and reliable. It holds my husbands full weight.

I wish the information had specified that this is inches longer than needed for a roll of toilet paper and therefore makes the roll of toilet paper seem misfitted. I wish it were made shorter to actually fit the width of a roll of toilet paper.

this was way to heavy! Unless you can install this on studs to ensure it stays secure, it may not stay on the wall. and Its wider than a stud would be so I'm not sure how to fix that. I had to return it.
