When an elderly friend was hospitalized recently for a fall in the shower in her home, we felt the need to reassess our own bathroom safety checklist.
In addition to purchasing non-slip shower and floor mats (a 'no-brainer' for ALL households), we researched the many 'assist bars' for home-use available on-line and in our local home improvement stores. The DELTA brand has always been a high-quality, reliable name in bathroom and kitchen fixtures, and we found an excellent selection in our local HOME DEPOT. The 9"x 7/8" 'Greenwich' model in brushed nickel matched our current fixtures and appeared to meet our needs. It was easy to install and looks great. We would add that it's a great value for the price, but you really can't put a price on your safety or that of your family (certainly a lot cheaper than a hospital stay, major surgery or a catastrophic, life-changing injury!).
