These fire starters are great. It only takes one to get a fire going and they are very easy to light. I don’t use the strike ability but instead just arrange the striker in with some kindling and the light it with a match. The striker flares up and is going immediately. It starts the fire every time. I have used other fire starters in the past and they were slow to get started and sometimes took many matches to get going. After they were lit it took some time to really get the fire burning. Not so with the fire strikers. They are quick and easy. What a great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great fire starters, you strike them like a wooden match to light and just set them in the fireplace under the wood. My wood is really dry (fire in the picture) and this fire starter started the fire without kindlin.

You don’t need to use any fluids or lighters or anything else!! Super safe to use indoor or outdoors. We use it for our grill outside and with my fireplace at my living room. Definitely buy it again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had never seen these fire starter sticks. They’re basically very large matches but last a long time lit. They are pretty neat to use for a grill or a fire pit. My whole family was pretty amazed at the ease to use them and how well they worked. You just get one of them and use the red/brown strip on the box to light it. Then it burns for a good long while. It’s very useful.

I tested one in my grill on a moderately windy day (wind was directly blocked) and the Firestarter burned for approximately 10 minutes, which should be more than enough time to catch medium sized kindling. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using the Diamond Strike-A-Fire fire starters this week at our family cabin for the fire pit. They are so easy to use for someone like me who otherwise has a hard time getting a good fire going. They literally strike just a match would by using the strip on the back of the box. I strike it and put it between about 3 logs stacked up in our fire pit and sit back and relax as the Strike-A-Fire does it's job. They can also be used on charcoal grills easily.

I timed it and it only burned for 6min and 20sec. until the flams had gone out. burned without flams for another 2min before it disappears into ash. I had it at a 30° angle. I did another test with it flat and it burned with flams for 9min and 20sec, burns without flames for another 2min without blowing in it. it still burns good though and I definitely recommend it when you have trouble starting fires.

We like these for lighting a fire in our fireplace. They catch easily and burn long enough for the fire to get rolling. Only problem is if they get banged around and the red tip flakes off they won't strike and you'll have to light them with a match. Minor inconvenience.

Just 2 starters per fire, no need for paper. A lot less ash buildup. Works very good.

LOVE these things for my wood stove!!! All the years of getting my hands black crumpling up newspaper to put under my kindling are over - these light the fire every time, in just minutes. I would echo the sentiments of others that the "striking tip" could have a bit more material on it, but they are so blasted convenient that I'd love them even if you just had to pry them apart with a screwdriver and light them off a candle....which is what I often do instead of striking them. You'll never want to use anything else - these make ya look like a fire-master! No smell, no smoke, and as far as I can see, no residue left anywhere.

I got these for my fireplace last winter and they're still my preferred choice this year. They light easily and they burn slowly enough to allow my kindling to really light up. Easy, consistent, and strong flame. What else do you want from a a fire starter?
