JUNK!!!!!!!
This thing is a piece of junk. Don't buy it. The pilot lights but not the heater. I followed the instructions and it won't light. Ex Post Facto!!! Waste of money! Photo is of it laying on the floor after getting frustrated after nearly an hour trying to get it to light and heaving it back inside. JUNK!!!!!!

This is an easy to use portable propane heater that puts out a good amount of heat to keep you warm on those cold winter days and nights. Assembly was a snap, simply open the box and unpack the unit and hook up the propane cylinders and secure into the unit. Getting the pilot light to ignite was a little trickier than expected but after figuring out the procedure the first time, it's a snap after that. The confusing part is that you have to continue to turning the igniter until it actual lights and hold the button for 30 seconds for it to completely light the heater. I've included photos of the lit heater. This is great since it can be used indoors for emergency heating or outdoors.

This Dyna-Glo Elite Portable Propane Heater comes fully assembled.   I had already bought two 1 lb propane tanks in anticipation of using this heater as soon as it arrived.  The tanks screw in easily (one on each side in the tank compartments).  The regulators even swivel upward to make this process fast and more simple.   Instructions are very clearly written and easy to understand and my heater lit after a few clicks.  I am really happy that this heater uses  the Piezo ignition because it makes lighting so consistent, dependable, quick and easy.   We use our Dyna-Glo Heat Around 360° outside on our patio and it definitely throws out heat 360° so that no matter where we sit, we feel the warmth.   It can be used indoors (only with the 1 lb propane cannisters), BUT adequate ventilation must be provided.  However, it does have an oxygen depletion sensor that will shut off the heater if the oxygen level falls to a dangerous level while being used indoors.  It also has another safety mechanism that will turn off the heater if it gets tipped over.    With the Dyna-Glo HeatAround Kit (not included) it can be used with a 20 gal propane tank as well.  Because we plan to use this heater quite often and we have several 20 lb propane tanks,  I ordered the fuel filter / 12' hose kit from Home Depot so I won't have to replace 1 lb tanks so often.   The 12' hose is a great length because the 20 lb tank needs to be 6' away from the heater while in use.   I am really happy with this heater.  It is lightweight (8.75 lb) and portable, has a lot of great features (including safety features), is very well-made, sturdy and works great.

I got this for one purpose, Klondike. It's an annual winter camp for Boy Scouts in the DC area held each year at Little Bennett Park. It's always in the middle of winter and it is often really cold. I have a fair sized family tent (9' x 9'). I wanted to run this about 3 feet from the side. At is lowest setting, it does a great job heating the space past 50 degrees when it is below freezing outside. This is with several flaps open in the roof to allow fresh air. At the high setting it gets downright warm. The heater itself does get quite hot, particularly on top. Care is needed in placement and keeping flammable material away. I would not use this where children could get near it. I am very pleased with the heater. It works and would be good if I lose power in winter at my home. In terms of propane consumption, it does go through a bottle every 3 to 5 hours. I use two bottles on the lowest setting to get through a night and still have heat in the morning. One super helpful item is the place where you screw in the propane swivels out for easy access. Screw in the bottle and it flips into place, close the door and it's compact and ready for heat.

Feel the burn with the Dyna-Glo Heat Around 360 Elite! Every winter, I get to thinking about alternative heat sources in the event I lose power for an extended period of time and discovered the Dyna-Go Heat Around 360 Elite. Keeping my family warm during winter-storm power outages, comfortably extending patio season from early spring to late fall. Not to mention bringing it on fishing and camping trips. I have no shortage of uses for a product like this. Out of the box, it was obvious that this product was built to take a beating. After all, it is billed as “grab and go” as well as “emergency use” heating. It can operate on one and/or two 1-pound propane tank for portability. Or you can also hook up a 20-gallon propane with optional hose and regulator (sold separately) for convenient long-term-use. The “blast” of heat I feel went I turn leads me to believe it can heat the entire first floor of my house, no problem. Even on low setting (13,500 BTUs) the heater is impressively hot. I would probably only need 18,000 initially and then have to turn it down. Safety seems to be Dyna-Glo’s priority because of the safety features when it comes to indoor use. An oxygen depletion sensor automatically turns the heater off if the heater consumes too much oxygen / generates too much carbon monoxide. Also super-convenient is the auto-shutoff if the heater is tipped over. Not unlike others, I did have trouble starting the heater, but that was mainly due to haste. I just wanted to get it going rather than taking the time to learn how to use it. Take your time, “bleed” the gas line by allowing gas to flow through the heater for 30 seconds. Light the pilot and allow that to burn for 30 second and then light the heater and it should work. The Dyna-Glo comes completely assembled! It’s ready to go out of the box once you’ve connected your propane supply, which is super-easy due to the connectors’ ability to swivel outward. As mentioned, you can connect larger propane tanks via a connector hose & regulator. I would have like to see a way to connect a hose without having to leave one of the fuel compartment doors wide open the whole time. That’s really the only con I can come up with pertaining to this impressive product. Upon ordering the Dyna-Glo, I awaited it’s arrival with much anticipation. From the moment I first flamed it on, I’ve been more than impressed and excited to put it to good use!

This heater did not work right out of the box, the pilot light would not stay lit. I took the top off to get to the thermocouple and use a butane torch to add some extra heat to it, then it would stay lit until the thermocouple cooled back down, which it would do even though the pilot light was still on, once it cooled do the pilot would shut off. I checked the resistance on the tip over switch and it checked good, but when I bypassed the tip over switch the pilot would stay running and would work fine, so it either has a finicky tip over switch or the thermocouple is weak. If the heater will work it does have some nice features, the connectors that the cylinders screw on to pivot out to make attaching the cylinders easier. It has an auto igniter that operates via the front knob you just push in and turn it to pilot from off and it sparks, you may have to push it on pilot for a few seconds after replacing the cans to bleed out the air. It says on box that it will operate from 3 to 32 hours, this is a little misleading as the unit will operate on (2) one pound cylinders for 3 to 3.5 hours which is pretty close to what it did for me, and the 32 hours is with the optional $30 hose kit (HAKITDG) hooked to a 20 lb cylinder. It is not recommended but it will operate on just (1) one pound cylinder There is not any noticeable change in the amount of heat it puts out from the lowest to the highest setting. You will need to be within 2 ft from the unit to get any usable heat if you are outdoors. If you are outdoors it will not stay lit in anything more than a couple of mile per hour wind. I does do a good job of heating up a mid size 8 ft x 8 ft tent, and would probably be ok for a small to midsize camper. They have carrying handles on the side of the unit which are kind of ok if you have the cylinders in it, but it is still a little top heavy. It is about 12 inches in diameter and 21 inches tall, and weighs about 9 lbs without the cylinders. All in all it would probable be ok for a tent or camper, if you have adequate ventilation so you wont asphyxiate yourself. But I would make sure that it would work for awhile before counting on it. and if I wanted to use a 20 cylinder I would probable get a heater that mounts on the cylinder.

This heater puts out some serious heat. We tried a few electric space heaters for a garage that made no difference but this warms up nicely. I find it really convenient because the cylinders are easy to find and available at just about any store, plus we usually have them on hand. I found it easy to light, you have to push the button and wait a minute for that pilot light , but once pilot was on it lit right up. I tried to re-light a few times without any problems. I would definitively recommend for a workshop type of area. Its a nice plus that it burns clean enough that you can actually use this as temporary heat inside in case of emergency.

PROS: -Portable. This heater runs off of one or two 1-lb propane canisters (the small ones commonly used for camping stoves). It can also be adapted (by purchasing a special hose) to fit 20-lb tanks. The unit is sized well for transport and has two nice carry handles. -Well made. The build quality of this heater is excellent. The fit and finish are very nice. It definitely looks and feels like a very nice unit. -Functional. The heater works well. I tested it in my cold garage and was able to bring the temperature from around 35 deg up to 55-60 deg within just a few minutes. CONS: -Run time. One a single 1-lb canister, with the heater set to high, I was only able to get around 30min of run time before the heater was struggling to run. -Directionality. I noticed that the heat put out by this unit tends to go much more up than out. Holding your hands above the unit you feel a significant amount of heat, while placing your hands to the side of the heater does not feel nearly as warm. Its almost as if there is a narrow column of heat directly above the heater. I am attaching an InfraRed heat image of the ceiling directly above where the heater was running. You will notice how localized the hot spot is.

The Dyna-Glo 10K BTU portable propane heater has a very functional, lightweight and compact design. It is the perfect size to take on a camping trip or to keep you and your family warm while enjoying a crisp fall night out on your deck. Additionally, since this heater has the ability to provide 360 degrees of heat output, you can rest assured that you will be nice and warm. With it’s sturdy base and multiple safety features you can use this with complete confidence on your deck or screened in porch. The only thing I would point out is to be sure to hold the control knob in for several seconds until the pilot light remains lit before moving on to the heat settings.

The Dyna-Glo 10K BTU Heataround 360 Portable Propane Heater came in real handy the other day when we lost power. I was able to fire up this heater and make my family comfortable. I felt comfortable and safe using this heater indoors. The Heater has multiple safeties built in. There is a tip over safety shut off switch just in case of tip over. There is also a low oxygen safety shut off built in! The handle is on the side of the unit to protect you from the chance of burning yourself. Using the heater is easy and the instructions are attached to the unit on the inside where you attach the cylinder. The first thing you do after you attach the cylinder is check for leaks using a soapy solution. Once you are sure there are no leaks you need to ignite the pilot light. Push in and turn the knob til the built in igniter lights the pilot, hold in for 30 seconds til the pilot stays lit. Then turn the knob to your desired heat setting. The heater gives of 360 degree heating. I know I'll be using this heater in my shop and my garage in the future!

I like to be prepared so I got this heater in the event of a power outage during the winter or for my tailgating activities. I tested it in my living room to get familiar with the operation and it performed well after some difficulty getting the pilot light on. It comes assembled and was ready to go out of the box. The regulator that accepts the disposable tank is inside a door at the bottom and swivels up for easy installation. Igniting the pilot light involves pushing in the knob while turning it counter clockwise. This requires one hand to stabilize the unit and the other to push and turn the knob. It took about dozen tries to get the pilot light on the first time but subsequent attempts ignited the pilot on the 2nd or 3rd time. The knob also requires pushing in and turning to regulate the heat so two hands are also needed for this. Other than this one inconvenience, the heater works well and puts off a nice evenly distributed flow of heat. I tested the tip-over safety shutoff and it works perfectly. I notice that the top grate surface is flat and capable of accepting a pot or pan for warming food. I don't think it would get hot enough for cooking and the description of the product doesn't make the claim so I look at this as a bonus. I use the disposable propane tanks but it will accept a larger tank with an adapter and hose. Overall, this is a very good, safe, and reliable emergency heater.

This is a nicely designed propane heater for outdoor use or emergency indoor use. If using indoors is requires adequate ventilation because it does emit carbon monoxide. It has a low oxygen sensor which shuts it off if it's used too long without enough ventilation. It also has an auto shut off if it gets knocked over. It uses two 1 lb. propane tanks which are easily connected to the swivel out regulators or you can purchase a 12 foot hose to attach to a 20 lb. tank. It took a couple of dozen tries the first time I tried to light the pilot. It lit a lot quicker after that. It gives off a lot of heat. It's great for sitting out on the patio on a cool night.

This portable propane heater is great for the patio, camping or emergencies and is easy to use. I also use it for a brief period to quickly heat up my shed when I am working in there. It is essentially like having a small camp fire without the hassle. It is a little bigger than I thought but on the highest setting will provide good warmth a foot to two feet out from itself, 360 degress. It adjusts between 13k and 18K BTU. It doesnt seem like much but it is a good variance. It can hold up to two 1 lbs. propane tanks or with a seperate hose kit accessory, model # HAKITDG, you can hook it up to a standard propane tank. I used the hose kit with the heater and it works great, greatly extending the time you can run the heater. The heater is easy to set up, you can use one or two 1 lbs propane cylinders which are found not only at Home Depot but in camping stores. The heater will operate off just one 1 lbs cylinder but the directions do not recommend it. I believe this is due to the increased likelyhood of the cylinder "freezing up". Screwing the cylinders in is easy, there are two doors on the unit and inside of them is a fitting which conveniently swivels so you can screw the cylinder in at an angle as opposed to the awkward straight up and down (see photo). Once the cylinder(s) are screwed hand tight, you just turn the pilot to fire it up. It usually takes me turning the pilot on twice to get it started. It can be tempting to touch the cage when lighting the pilot, so be careful. Once its started you can then adjust from low to high. The directions say two cylinders will get you 3.5 hours of heat on high and a 20 lbs propane tank will get you 24-36 hours. The flame is caged in but the cage still gets pretty hot. Above the flame but in the cage is a metal plate which helps dissipate the heat. This plate can collect water so I really dont recommend leaving this heater outside. Once the flame is out, the heater takes 10-20 minutes to cool off, depending on the outdoor temperature. The heater has two handles on it which are convenient but the heater is bulky and a little heavy with both cylinders in. Using one hand is a wrist workout. The only feature I wish the heater hand was a small hole in one of the cylinder doors so you can lock the door when the 12 ft propane tank hose is hooked in.

Terrific heater for the picnic table when enjoying adult beverages on cool fall nights. Puts out amazing amount of heat for a smaller portable unit. I place it under the table and the heat radiates keeping all the kiddies warm. The unique heating element radiates heat in all directions. 1lb gas tank(camping style) easily mounts inside base with rotating connecter. Lightweight and easy to move with integrated handle. Can be used inside in a pinch with O2 sensor which is a great safety feature. Very impressed with quality and performance.

Nothing to assemble with this Dyna-Glo Heat Around 360 Elite . Piezo Ignition eliminates the need for batteries or a flame to get things going. Take it out of the box and pop in one or two 1lb propane tanks and your ready to warm things up. :) Also you can purchase an additional adapter to run it from a 20lb propane tank. Also available for transporting it very safely is a carrying case. We used it the other night behind us on our covered patio because our backs dont really stay warm when we sit in front of our chiminea that we burn just off of the patio. It produced a very warm even heat for our backs for the around two hours we were out using it. I had to turn it off as it still had fuel when we wanted to come in. Its slender but about as tall as a round kerosene heater. This has an oxygen depletion sensor and is rated as safe for indoor use for emergency heat. It also has a safety tip over feature and variable heat output, just turn the dial up or down. But if I use it indoors or in any enclosure I will use n additional carbon monoxide detector for my own peace of mind.

We have been a camping family for many years. We love cold weather fishing and winter camp outs. After ten years of scouting leadership I resisted all type of heaters in camp outs. Now as I age a little have this Dyna-Glo heater around on cold days is comforting. The Dyna-Glo Heat Around 360° is the only portable recreational heater that provides 360° of warmth for groups. It's compact design makes it the ideal choice for grab and go heat. As an added benefit the oxygen depletion sensor allows for safe indoor use, for emergency heating. No electricity and no batteries are required. Uses a 1 lb. propane tank (not included), or you can also connected to a 20 lb. propane tank for outdoor use, with a optional hose/regulator (not included). The Heater ships completely assembled and it includes a swivel regulator to easily attach one lb propane tank. The ignition lights quickly and easily, it heats up to 250 sq. ft. adjustable from 7,500 BTU to 10,000 BTU. It includes a safety tip-over shutoff switch, just in case. We plan to use it for: tailgating, hunting, camping, fishing, emergency indoor heating, backyard/patio heating and many other uses. Only wish it came with a hard protective cover. Manufacturer Warranty 1 Year Limited.

There is a design flaw with the pilot light. Many times it took holding the pilot light in a light position for 5 full minutes. We have owned outdoor propane heaters for years. This was a big problem. I had to return it because it just was so difficult to light.

Please Read! Critical design flaw (catches fire)
Recently I was heating my garage and experienced a critical design flaw. The pivoting fitting where the cylinder screws in developed a leak. The leak eventually ignited and I had a torch shooting out the side of the heater. Fortunately it was in the center of the garage so there was no property damage. Naturally, the company said there is nothing they can do without the proof of purchase.
