I purchased this chain saw to replace an incredibly hard to start Ryobi.
I have used it twice.
First time was to remove a fallen 70+ year old pine from the back yard fence of a neighbor. it chewed through vine, pine, limbs and everything's I could cut.
Recently I had an Oak Branch fall in the yard. Did not hit the house. So, Filled it, primed it, and pow, started right up and got to work. Made short work of a treemendous job.

A little powerhouse
This is a great little homeowners saw after a few tanks of gas and a quarter turn on the high jet this 310 is a little beast you can’t go wrong with this little fella.

Should have bought the Ryobi battery powered
Title says it all. This thing is so hard to start every single time. I only used it for cutting like 3 times or something small and not even that much, just here and there. Even my neighbor said it’s junk.

Junk
This thing hates to start. Had several months now and used maybe 30 minutes total. It doesn’t like fresh gas or anything. It just doesn’t like to start. Hopefully echo or Home Depot will take it back. I want the Ryobi battery chainsaw.

Using it to limb a bunch of trees that went down in a storm. Saves wear and tear on my hands and arms compared to the big saw. It is lightweight but powerful. Made a fast job of limbing those trees after a Michigan gale at the cabin.

Received purchase hard to start right out of the box, follow instructions still wouldn't work as a result it got flooded out. Had to take it to a Echo Dealer to drain carburetor. works fine now

Engine works well, the remainder of the chainsaw is super cheap
I bought this chainsaw a year ago and for the most part it worked well in the beginning. Then after 8 months the bevel gear sheared a few teeth. I tried to get ECHO to replace it and they kept on telling me to go to Home depot, Home depot then tells me to go to ECHO. Also, the chain saw leaks chain lube all over the place while sitting. Once you buy this there is no product support if something happens. There 5 year warranty is bogus and they do not honer it. Because of ECHO`s customer service I will never touch there products again. Once again if you want a throw away chainsaw then its great.

Excellent chain, very satisfied
I absolutely enjoy using this chain saw. It cuts through everything as if it was butter! Initial assembly is supremely easy and start-up is smooth. I have had this chainsaw for almost two years and have chewed through a bunch of trees on my property with ease. Easy to operate. I Highly recommend this chainsaw.

My primary saw is a 20" commercial saw, but I needed something lightweight that I could carry on my ATV or in the toolbox on my truck for simple maintenance on the property. The Echo 14 turned out to be even better than I anticipated - it starts easy and works like an animal - great product that has now become my "go to tool" - I strongly recommend it!

Great little saw. Bought it to cut firewood for medium sized wood stove. Already cut next years’ wood, about 5 cords. Plus all the wood we having been using since getting stove up at the end of February. Starts easy, idles, light weight and cuts well. Since I am a part time logger who still uses chainsaws, I may try a model 680 or 800 after using this little guy. So partial to Husqvarna and Stihl , though. We’ll see, friends.

I've looked for a chainsaw to replace a Stihl with EasyStart. I've had 2 with early carburetor death - and just try to get it fixed at a reasonable price. (Yes, I've always used ethanol-free gas).
The new saw needed to be a 16" and easy to crank (senior female owner/operator). I trusted the reviews and ordered the Echo. I'm delighted. The instructions were clear and setup was easy. Starting was exactly as the manual described, initially firing up on the 4th pull; starting warm on the 1st pull - consistently. The weight is within a couple ounces of the similar Stihl model but the balance is better for me, making it easier to use. I hope this is the last chainsaw I ever have to buy but if not, I'll buy another Echo.

Excellent saw, i reluctantly bought it to replace my old saw, reluctant because only 30cc motor and 14" blade, but since i dont work in tree service any more i figure, do i really need an 18" blade and 46cc chainsaw? not for 95% of my purposes. fired it up and cut a couple of logs, this thing ripped it up just as good as my old saw. put my old 18" blade on it, no lack of power at all. Excellent saw for the price.

This is a SERIOUS saw....it will swipe threw telephone poles All day...like a piranha on steroids.....I have like 10 chainsaws, but honestly if you told me a Bad storm was coming and THIS was the only saw I had......I wouldn't even worry....it's really That good. I've put this saw threw so much crap, I would proudly throw it on the shelf with my Stihl's, no problem.

I think I got the lemon. Mine came with the idle tuned high so the chain would always move. When I would turn it down the saw would die with the chain still moving. So I followed the adjustment instructions but that did not work, I could keep it running with the chain stopped but saw would not cut. Kept playing with low and idle speed over a few days now I think I have it dialed in but it was not easy and still needs constant minor adjustments, what I have read online it may be a clutch issue. Other than the initial set up and constant adjusting it seems to cut ok, gets a bit bogged down on larger diameter stuff, 8"+. It is very light weight, starts easy and have never felt it was out of control, besides the chain always moving. The gas tank is a bit small so you will be refilling often. If I had to purchase a chain saw again I would probably go with the cs-352 and get a little more power for an extra $50 since they both come with a five year warranty and I wont be using it a whole lot. If you want something a bit more commercial quality probably go with a Stihl Wood Boss 251 but I have heard they are pricey to repair and are about $150 more. Good news is a have a lot of firewood. Bad news, well not real bad, is it is almost February and still 80 degrees here in AZ so I am not sure I will ever need it.

I have to say I've only used it one time; however, that involved cutting several dead tree branches and one nearly dead tree of about 21" diameter and about 40 feet high. Yes with a 14" saw.
The manual said to pull five times with choke open then five with it closed after priming. Try three and two. After that one pull just like my Echo leaf blower. Main reason for Echo over Stihl or Husquvarna vs. 5-year vs 1 or 2 year warranty and the number of service locations near me. After all it will eventually need service just like any small engine. I also like the fact that 50:1 gas is the same for the saw, leaf blower and my Ryobi weed wacker. So I can get rid of a couple of gas cans in my garage. This is where I recommend a higher oil to gas mix, a trick I learner from a mower repair guy years ago. You may have to change spark plug more often and pull twice rather than once, but you keep the engine lubricated better and it'll last longer. I ran several Lawnboy mowers that lasted over 30 years that way.
I've had Poulons in the past and while they were cheaper and frankly ran pretty well until they didn't. the problem with Poulon is it's essentially a disposable since no one seems to be willing to work on one. I'm nearly 70 and hope I outlive this saw, which I expect to last some time.

It's nice when something isn't junk and this saw isn't
I bought this today and very easily cut up a 25 ' tree about 12" in diameter in no time. It took me about 8 pulls to get it started but after that one pull is all it took. I don't know about the longevity of the product but this company certainly has a good reputation and it's built in the USA so I'm hoping to have it for a long time. The brake lever and the housing seem a little cheap, I'm careful with my stuff but it should be noted. Oh and it's nice and lightweight too. Good purchase

very good product
I have been using this saw for months and no trouble with it. I cut down a tree maybe to big for the saw with no problems. Make you let the saw work for you. Never force the saw . Make sure the chain is allways sharp. If the chain is not sharp the saw will work to hard and you will have problems.

Great Lightweight Saw!!!
This is a great little saw! We had a major ice storm and I had many downed trees. I bought this mainly because I don't plan on becoming a "lumberjack" so a 14" blade was plenty big enough to get the job done. A 14" will handle a tree 28" thick, and I don't have those. I'm an 62 yr old woman, and I had no problems starting or handling the saw at all. It worked all afternoon and never had a single problem with it! Great saw!! I only wish it had come with a covering for the bar & chain. I worry about someone brushing up against it and cutting themselves or it falling off the shelf and ruining the bar.
