I used to hate chainsaws. Not anymore. I bought another brand and the chain popped off about 100 times in 5 days. In 5 days since I bought the Ego, I have only stopped 3 times. Highly recommended for small to mid size projects.

Cuts easily, quickly and is light weight easy to maneuver . The battery charged quite quickly considering it’s not the “quick” charger.

Great product! While other EGO tools are generaly safe and not complicted, this one is different. It is as easy as they come when it comed to chainsaws, but if you have never owen or operated a chainsaw before, would strongly suggest you get on Youtube and carefully watch every video on the care and safe operation of an Ego Chain Saw. there is a lot that can go horrably wrong if you were never trained on how to use one of these. But it will definatly do the job!

Definitly worth the money, amazing battery life and it cuts!!!

Everything is fantastic. I previously used a gas-powered 18" that was a bit of a challenge to start. I would not know this powerful EGO chainsaw is a battery powered device. It did everything the gas-powered model did without the difficult start, and without the smelly and messy fuel-oil mixture. I did not know it was battery-powered until I ran out of battery power after 60 minutes. Three thoughts...1. I was working with some very dense wood in very cold conditions, 2. After 60 minutes my back needed the break anyway, and 3. I had a spare 4.0 AH battery from my EGO weed-wacker. It worked fine with the chainsaw. I would actually recommend this over a gas-powered model for the same type of work I was doing...heavy back yard and trail sawing, limb removal, and some stumping. Some of the trees I was working on were cut down and left by a utility company (protecting the lines). These trees were as much as 18" in diameter. That's significant and indicates the power of this EGO 18" chainsaw.

Love it! Easy to use, cuts great. Very easy to clean, add lubricant, and change chain.

The first time I got to use the saw, the saw and batteries had sat in my vehicle out in single-digit temperatures for 2 nights. So I was a little concerned about how well the batteries would survive the cold. When I got to work it was still a chilly 16 degrees Fahrenheit. The saw worked flawlessly. I worked on clearing some downed trees for almost 2 1/2 hours on the first battery before having to switch to the second. And by the time I had used 40% of the second battery, the first was recharged already. Cutting power was great - I never even used the boost mode. The saw is easy to use, comfortable, and quiet. I'm quite pleased with this package.

Good torque and chain speed. Appreciate it is not so noisy and I am not messing with gas or sucking down exhaust. I unscrew the oil cap 1/2 turn and that allows more oil to the chain. Easy to remove bar to clean out chips and crud (with battery out).

Chainsaw 18 has just wowed us, no problems with cutting big trees. Big plus, I can cut early morning and no noise complaints.

I already wrote a glowing review for this chain saw; now I want to add to it. As I said before I cut down a 70 foot pine. Since then, I removed all the branches and cut up all the logs into fireplace lengths. All with the EGO 18” saw. I love this machine!

I’ve owned a lot of chainsaws in my life but the EGO is the best! No gas. No trouble starting. Easy to use. I used it to trim branches and take down small trees on our property. Today I used it to cut down a 36” diameter, 70 foot tall pine tree with ease.

So is an upgrade from my 16-in green works. This 18" saw is significantly more powerful and the battery life is awesome. Cost a couple dollars but it looks like a very solid saw and so far I really really like it.

This saw does the job cutting 2’ thick red oak trees, of which I had several after tree service cleared around my house. Easy to use, easy to change chains, if needed, and 5Amp battery gives decent work time. We also have a small battery from prior purchase of the EGO pole saw, and having a second battery is helpful. Will it provide battery power as long as a gas saw: no. BUT, much quieter, and environmentally friendly.

Worked as good as my gas chainsaw. I was impressed by the performance. Will buy more ego battery operated tools in the future.

Recent dead tree that finally fell prompted purchase. It was the Ego or a gas chain saw, and I took a chance. My son had purchaed Ego leaf blower and line trimmer and swears by them. Tree had to be over a foot in diameter and this thing cut through it like a hot knife through butter. Granted the chain is new, but there was very little degradation noticed in the battery's power. Very happy with this purchase!

This is my 4th EGO branded piece of equipment. Love every one. My push mower is on it's last leg so i sense a 5th tool in the not so distant future.

Great saw! Never going back to gas saw’s again. Glad I have five Ego devices so I have multiple batteries. While the saw works great, when making continuous cuts through big wood, it really draws down the battery quickly. In spite of that I definitely recommend it without hesitation.

I bought this chainsaw after a thorough review of gas, electric and lithium battery powered chainsaws in consumer reports and customer review websites and you tube . I had to clean up 6 x 30-40 foot pine trees partially knocked down by a wind storm. I was able to de-limb and cut all the trees up into fire wood sized chunks over a three day period. The EGo 18 in blade worked efficiently with only one resharpening needed. The battery last about 4 hours before needing a charge. I was ready for a break by then anyway.

So easy to use and more than adequate for me to cut down a 23 year old pine tree. I cannot wait to cut more trees at my northern Michigan cabin.

I've been using chainsaws for 30 years, and I absolutely love this one. It eliminates the need for gas, which means no more gas smell and fewer trips to refill. It's powerful enough for my cutting needs and has a long-lasting battery.

This chainsaw easy to use and has a powerful battery. There is no gas to mix, making it very convenient to use. It cuts through a tree very well.

I've loved using this saw for several weeks this summer in the back country clearing out downed trees on trails. It has been very reliable and the 18" saw coupled with the 5.0 Ah battery has provided plenty enough power to provide a few hours' worth of cutting out downed trees. The few things that cause me not to rate it at 5 stars are the overall bulk and weight of it compared to its competitors as well as the chain thickness and how quickly the chain goes dull. I bought a spare chain to be able to swap out for a fresh chain so I don't have to stop and take 10-15 minutes to file sharpen a blade when I'm out cutting out trees on trails. The chain typically only lasts through 40-50 smaller cuts and actually dulls after only 10 or so really big cuts. It would be nice to develop a chain that has a little more longevity. The good news is that the chain is very easy to sharpen on the trail but it does set you back in your work efficiency.

Worked great on cutting up a fallen limb. Didn't have any issue with it cutting or battery life.

I have been looking at electric chainsaws for awhile. EGO tools has brought the best combination of tools and battery versatility to the table! The 18 inch bar competes -in my humble opinion - with gas counterparts on the market. It seems that 2 - 5 AH batteries is roughly equivalent to a tank of gas. The rapid charger does a great job of "refilling the tank". I did let the battery sit before recharging it because i had time to. The chainsaw cut like a hot knife through butter as it ripped through a 50 foot pine tree that had an approximately 16 inch diameter. The pictures I'm posting with this review are after only one battery used. I am very impressed with the power and speed of this unit. The option to use the battery link kept the extra weight off my arm, and made a longer job easier to tackle. I also cut down an 18 foot apple tree. It took both batteries to cut the approx 22 inch diameter trunk down to manageable pieces. I really think EGO has joined the ranks with a professional competitor in the industry. Thanks EGO for making this - best feature - is that when I squeeze the trigger, it goes!!!

Loving my new chain saw. I've used it enough now to give an informed review. I recently had 4 large maple trees taken down by an arborist. I was surprised to see he used a combination of gas powered and battery powered chain saws. Gas powered for the 3' and 4' chain saws to cut the trunks and the battery for any limbs 9" or less. Clean up was my responsibility. Starting my old gas chain saw was not happening so I bought the Ego chain saw. Used it to trim the branches and cut 16" firewood. Worked great... instant on ..no endless pulling the starter cord. I also own an Ego lawnmower, trimmer and blower. I though I would be using the other batteries to keep working. Didn't need it. I'm in my 70's so I run out of power about the same time as the battery. We both recharge at the same rate so all good.

Everything is great on it. You have to make sure the tensioner is tight, or chain will come off. Nice saw!

The EGO CS1803 chainsaw worked like a champ and was every bit as effective as my 22 year old gas chainsaw, which I gave up trying to rehabiliate. Not bothering the neighborhood with the engine noise of a gas chainsaw is another plus. Since I already own an EGO lawnmower and hedge trimmer I can snap in one of their batteries when the chainsaw's battery is depleted. The benefit of having all EGO products is that the batteries are interchangeable. Since I sometimes don't need to use a chainsaw for a few years I can keep the chainsaw battery healthy by rotating it in with my lawnmower, so the chainsaw will always be ready to use; something I cannot say for my gas chainsaw whose fuel lines cracked and carburetor gunked up after a few years of non use.

Great saw for small jobs around the house. But if you put it to any real use, you're gonig to run into problems. This saw uses a lot of plastic and cheap skinny parts (like the ones you get at the big box stores). I had to cut down a bunch of trees and this saw started coming apart. Two screws came loose. Plastic showing signficant signs of wear, etc.

Very convenient, medium duty chainsaw. I live in 5 wooded acres and the simplicity of slapping a battery in and going right to cutting is very nice compared to maintaining fresh fuel seasonally and mixing fuel/oil. The tool-less chain tightened is a nice feature too. I don’t throw my shoulder out starting and re-starting the chainsaw to get going and in between cuts when I need to clear out the logs and branches. Not overly noisy either alerting the neighbors in a 1 mile radius of what I’m up to outside.

This product speaks for itself. Excellent power, performs well and easy to use. Battery life is outstanding.
