I am extremely pleased with the Emax 7.5 hp air compressor right out of the box. After using it for most of the weekend, I'm extremely pleased with the lower decibel and non-jarring startup noise. The 80 gallon tank takes mere minutes to full capacity before auto shut-off. No maintenance manuals provided, the Emax website has issues with Bad "404 Oops" pages with no content. Therefore had to figure out wiring. All in all, excellent choice for me.

The compressor is a great tool for everything I need it for.

Bought this to upgrade from my old loud Ingersol compressor. The speed at which it refills is fast and super quiet. Setup was easy you won’t be disappointed!

This thing is a beast, I replaced a 26 yr old oil less 6.5hp 60 gallon that would never shutoff while using a blow gun, not only can it keep up but it does it very quietly, it's great quality not cheap junk, I would buy it again in a heartbeat, shipping was quick and it was on a serious skid, arrived with no damage at all. Awsome compressor!

Works great for our small sheet metal shop. We can run a 5'x10' plasma table, 52" shear, and notcher. It's not as quiet as our old rotary air compressor but definitely more quiet than similar style vertical piston motor air compressors. We decided to move on from our IR rotary air compressor because it became too expensive to maintain and repair. We feel more comfortable maintaining this style of air compressor.

This thing is massive. I will never have to worry about this thing keeping up with my air supply demands for my powder coating/sandblasting needs. This thing is awesome Very solid build, shipping crate and packaging were solid and arrived undamaged. You definitely need help getting it moved off pallet and into its place. Price and free shipping was way better than any other source by over $800.

This air compressor is even more quiet than expected. I don't have a lot of space in my garage, so I have to be near the compressor while working. When I first turned it on, I thought I wired it incorrectly. The motor just lopes along with no strain. It filled the 80- gallon tank in less than 5 minutes! No leaks. You can definitely have a conversation right next to the unit while it's on and hear yourself think. Powerful and quiet, worth every penny!

This thing is a beast. I can run my big sandblaster and paint booth just fine and it doesn’t run non stop at all. Kicks in at 100 psi and shuts off at 150. I have a work bench right next to it and it doesn’t bother me. It’s not any louder than my shop fan.

I ordered my 10HP 80Gallon Single Phase EMAX compressor (Model #HS10V080V1) earlier this year and finally completed the install/electrical and commissioned it for use this month. Initial order date was 4/12/2021 and I accepted delivery via freight with liftgate service on 5/25/2021. For those wondering, the driver of the delivery truck used a pallet jack to remove the unit from the truck and was nice enough to bring it up my driveway and into my garage for me (I live in suburbia). The compressor was bolted to a standard size pallet and surrounded by cardboard on all 4 sides and the top, which was also stapled to the pallet (needless to say, it was very well protected). I was not interested in keeping the unit on the pallet nor did I want to bolt it to my floor, so I built a base out of 4” mild carbon channel that would accept a common width pallet jack also incorporating vibration dampening leveling feet. The most challenging task was lifting the compressor off the pallet and onto the base as I do not have a forklift or crane. Ultimately, I was able to find success using my engine hoist, a variety of straps/rigging equipment, and a lot of patience. Electrical was relatively easy with advice from an electrician coworker of mine. I added a 60A double pole breaker to my 200A main panel, ran about 15ft of 4AWG THHN wire to a 100A safety disconnect switch rated for a 10HP motor, and then used about 6ft of 4/3 SOOW cord from the switch to the compressor. As for the compressor itself, it is absolutely amazing and completely fills up to 175psi in about 4.5 minutes. While the motor is loud it is still much quieter than your conventional air compressor without the Silent Air intake. I personally think it sounds awesome during operation as I feel like I have a true workhorse. My hope is that this will last me a lifetime and so far I am thoroughly impressed with the build quality and customer experience. I would recommend this brand and this model without hesitation.

Just received this, and Wow! This will deliver enough air for several users, fortunately I am the sole user. Its quality made in the USA (with global parts). The quiet operation is great for a home shop usage.

My EMAX compressor came bolted to a stout pallet and was really well packaged. It is a gorgeous compressor and will be a showpiece in my shop. I'm thrilled with it and know it will provide many years of service. I do wish it came with a printed manual.

Picked up the compressor from Homedepot. Only issue I had was that Home Depot was really slow and even though I called ahead and made an appt, they had me waiting another half hour to pick it up. Got the compressor home and hooked up, but had a leak in the welds at the top of the compressor. Emax customer service was excellent. Sent a technician to see if the problem could be fixed and because it couldn’t, sent me another brand new compressor. Got that one set up and it works wonders in my shop. I have used it on sanders, grinders, impacts, paint guns, the works. Takes 5 min to fill up and it’s not very loud at all. We can have a discussion right next to it while it’s running. Sometimes I don’t realize the motor has started while I’m working. It has definitely been an asset in my shop.

I purchased this air compressor for my new garage where the unit was going to be located next to my work bench. I needed a compressor to keep up with air sanders and grinders. My last compressor was also a 5hp with 80 gallon was very noisy and had a hard time keeping up with the air sander. This unit is GREAT!!! It is quiet, I can work at the bench without earplugs. I can actually hold a normal conversation with it running. Plus is has no issue keeping up with the high demands of the air sander. I can be sanding for hours and it will just cycle on & off as needed. My last compressor I would have to stop sanding for it to "catch up". The EMAX is a GREAT UNIT.

I really wasn't expecting it to be this quiet. Quality and finish is excellent. Came on a pallet so was easy to put in place with my tractor. Now I can use my sand blaster and plasma cutter like a pro.

If this thing is huge it's quiet and it doesn't run very much since the volume of the tank is 80 gallons it reaches pressure in less than 4 minutes, absolutely love it

Everything on this compressor is heavy duty. comes with oil pressure Guage and sight glass. Super quiet compared to most compressors. More then happy with it.

Extremely well packaged upon arrival. Everything looks well made. Purchased mostly because of the warranty. Can’t wait for many years of use.

Shipment arrived earlier than projected, fully crated and in good condition! Finished the install of our new compressor over a month ago and so far so good! The compressor is a huge improvement from our old 26 Gallon (portable) for the shop. The noise level is probably the most noticeable change. Our old compressor was absolutely deafening when it kicked on, especially since it’s in a shop with concrete walls and floor. The Emax on the other hand sounds similar to let’s say an old, slightly unbalanced washing machine. Not bad at all! For our application I wanted to be able to move the compressor away from the wall for servicing and therefore chose to leave the compressor on the pallet it came on. This allows me to disconnect the flex line from the manifold on the wall and use a pallet jack to pull the compressor out. After quite a bit of thought I ended up hard piping the compressor with ¾” copper pipe to a large coalescing filter (one I had salvaged) then to a three stage filter / regulator that is mounted to the frame of the compressor on a custom bracket and mounting plate. From there I have a 3/4” flex line running to a ¾” copper manifold mounted on the wall. I then used ¾” Maxline pipe to do almost 200ft of main line runs throughout the shop. I also ended up running around 150ft of Rapidair ½” nylon air lines for a number of drops and other offshoots. A couple things to note: -The compressor does not come with a manual, installation instructions or maintenance guide. You will have to refer to the online documents for that. That is technically one negative. -The compressor does not come with a electrical whip or cord. It will need to be hardwired or you will have to have that wired up separately. Also, the compressor needs to be wired with #6 wire if located under 50ft from the subpanel and #4 wire if over 50ft. - The thing is around 900lbs and I didn’t notice any rigging points on the frame. So be careful if you intend to take it off the pallet. - It does not come with a flex line to connect to the rest of your system. Would be great if it did for the price. - It does not come with pillow blocks. This didn’t matter for me since we left it on the pallet. But again, would be great if it did for the price. - It does not come with a regulator but the pressure switch can be adjusted. It comes preset at 175psi which is way more than I need so I changed the pressure switch 150psi. Bottom line, the compressor is pricey yes, not to mention all the additional things you need if you are running new air lines but I feel like it’s worth it to have a compressor that doesn’t make you bleed from the ears when it kicks on and is able to provide you with the required CFM needed to run high demand air tools. This compressor should be with us for a loooooonngggg time. Looking forward to using it more in the future! I would absolutely recommend it if you are looking for something that falls in line with the specs of this model and can get past the sticker price. Your ears will thank you.

I am a very serious DIY guy who does not ever want to run out of air when I am working on vintage vehicles. Secondly, my garage is a 4 car attached garage so sound levels were an important factor. I probably would have been fine with the 5 horsepower 80 gallon model but I went “Tim Taylor” and got the 10 horsepower 80 gallon model. I am in no way disappointed in this machine! It produces more volume than I can use even when painting and it really is as quiet as advertised. I recommend this for industrial and DIY use.

I am a car enthusiast and am slowly restoring a couple muscle cars in my home shop, as well as maintaining and repairing cars for friends and family. My old Husky 3.2hp 60 gallon compressor has done a good job for tha last 10 years but it struggled to keep up with sand blasting and tools that consume a lot of air, such as sanders, grinders etc. I had been looking around at industrial compressors when I ran across the E Max on Home Depot’s Contractor Special Buy of the Week. I’ll admit that I’d never heard of the E Max brand but was instantly impressed with the construction quality, features and performance at an almost unbelievable price! I called the company directly and asked them some questions and was even more impressed. Their customer service is excellent and it’s very apparent that they take pride in their products and stand behind them. I also had to contact Home Depot’s customer service because there was a problem processing the online order. They too were excellent to deal with and even waived the shipping charges for my trouble, even though I didn’t ask. The compressor came sooner than promised, was extremely well crated and delivered on a truck with a lift gate. The driver from Holland Express even rolled it into place in my shop with a pallet jack. I had looked for quite a while and I didn’t find any other brand that even came close to what E Max offers for the money. This thing is an absolute monster! It’s quite, very efficient and doesn’t break a sweat no matter what I throw at it. If you’re ready to make the investment in an industrial grade compressor you owe it to yourself to check out the E Max line. You’ll never regret it! I couldn’t be happier with the product and the entire process!

Great compressor... This is a well built compressor that uses high quality components. It is pretty quiet and pumps up quickly. I have no issues running a sand blast cabinet, dual action sander or impact wrench. Very impressed with the build quality.

This air compressor provides more than enough air for my 2400 sq ft. shop. The unit is quiet and builds air fast. The delivery driver was able to back up to the shop, use his pallet jack to set the compressor where I wanted it.

I’m very much satisfied with my purchase. I researched many manufacturers and units thoroughly. Decided on Emax and am extremely satisfied with their top notch high quality product. Very quiet and its really satisfying hearing it run.

Arrived a week sooner than initial estimate at checkout. Freight hauler called well in advance to schedule delivery, and verified the need for liftgate service. Compressor is not the silent version, and I still find it very quiet for it's size and power. Much quieter than the much smaller compressor it replaces. Also no huge bulky crate to throw away, it's just bolted to a pallet. Made it easy to unpackage and put into service. Wiring diagrams in the contractor are quick and easy to understand. The oil level was already correct. Just add power, throw the switch, and it was up to full pressure in under 2 minutes. It wobbles while running more than I expected due to the massive pump internals, you really need to bolt it down before you run your air lines. You also need a good long section of flexible conduit to allow for this movement.

Awesome product! This compressor is everything they claim it is. My only surprise was that it was yellow when it arrived. After talking to Emax directly, they are no longer selling them in black in an effort to streamline production. Not a big deal, just don't get your hopes up for black.

Great air compressor so far, seems to be of good quality, nice and quiet and builds air fast. For install it only needs to be wired up. I also did four 2 inch pipe filled with stainless steel mesh for a water air separator during the humid summers. Quieter than any of my friends shop air compressors.

WOW, BEYOND EXPECTATIONS. I am extremely impressed with this compressor. I had high expectations to begin. This thing is heavy duty and I expect it to outlive me because of the quality.

Very good 80 gal compressor came with silent device is a plus , so quiet in my shop then my old compressor. The unit look bigger then my old 80gals but it take the same space due to removable silent unit...very happy.....
