I have two dogs, totally different sizes, Chi-Heeler (15 lbs)

We had the door for a month and it ended up getting moisture in the doggie panel and and they're sending a new one. My cat loves it

Installation fairly easy for one person to perform. Dog door is too small/low for our Newfoundland’s preference but our Keeshond loves it!

Great construction and easy to install.

We have (2) 65# retriever dogs. Our back yard is completely fenced-in so we wanted to allow our dogs the freedom to roam as they want. We purchased 2 of the storm doors for our house. The problem is that the pet doors only last about one year. The replacement pet door costs around $40. I am getting ready to purchase a replacement pet door insert. I am not very happy about having to spend $80/year to replace my pet doors. There should be a way to strengthen the pet portion of the door so we do not need to spend $40 per door every year. The pet doors split at the connection of the 3 panels and eventually fall apart. This is a very poor design. But you cannot foresee the problem until the door have been used for several months. I would think that the manufacturer would redesign a replacement door to eliminate the failures. Under these circumstances, it would be difficult to recommend this door. I was able to install the door easily. The directions were clear and illustrations informative. The only tricky part was screwing in the hinge side door without help. I found a 3/8 inch piece of trim I put on my door sill and propped the door up with that so it wasn't smashing the door sweep. Fortunately, this also kept the door from tipping back on me while I anchored it with a couple of screws. Now, for the fun stuff! I had read reviews and noted that big dogs didn't seem to have an issue getting through the door but little dogs might. Knowing I may need to make alterations to the flap, I bought it anyway. We have a poodle mix who weighs about 25 pounds and a maltese mix that weighs 13. The little dog will do anything for a treat and getting her to go through the door was achieved quickly. The bigger dog is scared the flap will hit him in the face and doesn't want to push against it. But, he will gladly push through the pet door after the little dog props it open with her nose. On occasion, he has crowded the little dog out and doesn't care one bit that the flap may then swing back and hit her in the face! The big dog is not a gentleman at all! In time, I believe we will adequately train the bigger dog to go through the door on his own instead of waiting by the door for the little dog to open it. I believe that in making a judgement about whether or not you will be successful getting your dog to go through the door depends a lot on their personality as much as their size.

The assembly was extremely easy. I was trying to tackle it by myself because my husband wasn't home and I was anxious, but you definitely need two people. I was a little apprehensive about the quality of the doggie door but it's been over a month now and I am quite pleased. I have two moose for dogs (both over 70lbs) and they both fit through no problem. I absolutely LOVE the convenience of the dog door....I wish I had have bought this sooner!

I bought this door from Home Depot about 18 months ago. It was installed by a very respected local contractor. It has been a terrible purchase. Within the first year, the hinge broke. I repaired it myself with heavy gauge wire as a temporary fix. I did call Anderson/EMCO and had a new hinge sent out under warranty with no issues. The contractor still needs to be paid to install it. Just after a year when the warranty expired, the door handle broke. It was a small piece inside the handle. I could not find a replacement handle locally that fit the same as the broken one, so I had to order it through EMCO. Then, the closer broke. Finally, approximately 18 months after purchasing this door, the doggie door broke. The vinyl piece that allows the door to swing just split and there is now a hole where part of the doggie door should be. The cost of the new doggie door is ridiculous and Anderson/EMCO was not very helpful. My family consists of Myself, my wife, two children and our dog. Our dog is medium sized and we are not hard on this door. Our front storm door is used maybe 4-5X more often than this EMCO door, it has been installed for nearly 10 years and we have no problems with it. Do yourself a favor and buy a quality storm door and have a quality doggie door installed in it. You will save time and aggravation. Anderson and EMCO are not products I will look to purchase in the future.

The door is strong and nice looking, the dog door as well. The only complaint I have is what the others stated. The handle seems cheap and inadequate for the door. The template that comes with it is not great either. We had to move it closer in after we used the template. We installed an extra sliding lock for better security.

My son-in-law installed the door for me with no difficulty. The instructions were easy to follow. My little dog loves it! It is just perfect for my needs. Looks very nice and an added improvement to my patio.

I recently purchased a new home that has a great fenced-in area for my two dogs. I needed a way for them to have freedom during my long work days and decided to purchase this door. Greatest GIFT for my dogs, and me, EVER! I had it installed on a Friday and began to teach the dogs how to use it on Saturday AM, as neither one had been thru a doggie-door. My ten year old doesn't like her head enclosed in anything and my three year old doesn't like anything to brush along his spine, so I had my reservations about IF they'd do it. My doubts were quickly quieted as my big girl LOVED it immediately and her little brother soon caught on. By Sunday afternoon, it was like they had this "escape hatch" their entire lives! It is truly the best investment we have made at our new home, and quite possibly the the best gift you can give to your pets and yourself. The door is well built, attractive, easy to install and sturdy - very well worth the price. Thank you, EMCO and Home Depot!!

Very nice design. Somehow I didn't measure correctly and had to modify the width by taking off 3/4 ". Easy to do if you have moderate skills, but I suggest you spend most of your time ordering the correct size. Looking forward to keeping the cold out during the winter and the flies out during the summer. Now training the dogs to use the doggy door. I have to Huskies and they both fit through the door. There is a metal framework that goes around the sides and the top of the wooden door frame. The hinges are built into one side and you can hang the door to to open either way. Just have to drill holes for the door handle.

Very sturdy door. It was relatively easy to put up, however, it is heavy. My husband held it in place while I attached a few screws. Overall, very pleased with the door.

The pet door made an immediate positive impact when our son's dog came to stay for several days. The pet door is uniquely designed with three hinged clear plastic panels secured shut with magnets.

Looked online today at lunch and found this door. It was just what my wife and I had been looking for. After lunch I borrowed my father-in-laws SUV because it wouldn't fit into our V.W.. I went to Home Depot and picked it up and came home and started the project about 3:00 p.m. I removed our old storm door and by about 6:45 I was done. It was really easy and it looks great. Now come the part where I have to teach my two dogs to use it. That should be fun.

Our doberman mix is around 65 pounds. This door fits her perfectly. Perfect height, perfect width. We used to leave the back door open for her to have access to the back yard when she wanted. This was not ideal. We found this door and could not love it more. The door is clear, which is great for stalking squirrels. She watches and waits for them to get close, and then bursts through the door to chase them. She can have easy access to the yard without giving up the security of our house, because only the storm door has the dog door. There is no access to our house with the back door closed. The heavy door is great because it seals the opening after she goes through, helping to maintain some efficiency for the air conditioning/heat. My mom's smaller dog doesn't love it because he tries to follow my dog out, and it comes back and its him the the face, so he hasn't tried it on his own. The rubber seals on the door finally started to wear after 4 years of hard use, so we will replace and keep using it. It was exactly what we wanted.

The door was easy to install and of good quality material.

This door fits very well, took very little time to install and is a great value for the money spent. Other companies wanted upward of $600 for a door that appeared to be the same model. This is my second door at a second location from Home Depot and

The self-storing screen would make it better. Had to have been designed by a man. The window sliders are hard on fingers and nails.

Doggie door comes in three sections that are connected by rubber strips. Our 30 lb. dog loves to go in and out and it is well used. Within 10 weeks of door installation however, the rubber strip that joins the top section to the middle section started to crack open. I called Anderson and they are sending replacement doggie door (list price $101.86) because door is still within 1 year warranty. I think that I could remove and replace the rubber strip with only a screwdriver, but Anderson does not offer the rubber strips themselves for sale. Although I am confident that Anderson will replace this expensive part as often as it fails in the first year, I am worried that I will be paying $102 every 3 months after the 1 year warranty expires. I am anxious to see how long this replacement doggie door lasts.

The door was not too much trouble to assemble and hang. The dogs love it.

Installation was fast and easy, and the dog loves it!

Installed door and next night dipped to -6 f and was able to leave regular door open and couldn't feel breeze even with dogs going in out. Dogs took 3 days before they would use it without showing it to them. they love it , especially my old dog who cant hold it more than 4 hours. Great door !

The door flap design is terrible, and separates. Purchased door in February, and have to replace the flap for the second time. Duct Tape holding the flap together is better, and holds stronger than the original part.

My husband installed this door leading to our puppy's dog run about 3 weeks ago. She loves going in&out...in&out...in&out. She is a Siberian Husky, 5 months old, 30 pounds with a lot of energy. She slams through the dog door at full speed and so far, it is holding up well. Since the dog door is in 3 sections, it moves freely and it closes solid each time. I am pleased with the door.

I have two dogs and a fenced-in back yard. When my old screen door broke, I knew I had to have THIS door to replace it. It keeps the cold air out while allowing my pets the freedom to go in and out as they please. It was the perfect size, and the man I hired to install it said he had no problems. The dogs figured out the pet door very quickly. They seem to like that it's transparent and they can see where they're going. I'd never realized before how convenient a pet door can be. The people features are excellent as well. It opens easily and closes tight. The self-contained screen works smoothly. It looks great, too. I have shown pictures of this door to my friends who have dogs, and they all want one. I put the picture on Facebook and got a number of likes and good comments. This is the perfect door for my needs, and my dogs and I couldn't be happier.

I like the look of the door but the instructions are not very user friendly. Ended up putting extra holes in it to get it right. Had a small dent in it when I opened the box too.

I like the multi fold doggy door, seems more weather tight.
