Midsize dog owner - frame adjustment was needed
This door is not the fanciest of course … but we are not experienced at installing doors and used a video to help guide us … the dog door fits our 2 - 60lb dogs … however your dog must push the flap to get out and in. Cold weather made it seem harder to open, there is rubber on the sides of the flap.
I don’t think a lazy smaller dog would do well with this type of flap as even for my hand it was not easy to open.

We like the door a lot. It took some thought...
We like the door a lot. It took some thought and careful reading of the installation instructions for us to install the door ourselves, but we persevered and the door looks and works great.

Door is built pretty cheaply with no attention to detail....
Door is built pretty cheaply with no attention to detail. Sharp metal edges, the corner 45 cuts of the metal edging don't meet flush with each other and are uneven. The seam in the outer finished materiel that runs side-to-side halfway up the door in the middle is not tight and exposes the foam like inner core material of the door. The same outer material is not glued well to the core. Just gently setting the door down on the bottom edge pushed the outer material so that it separated from the doors inner jam where you attach the hinges. I was able to push it back in. Overall an overpriced cheaply made door, imo.

The box had right info but when I opened it...
The box had right info but when I opened it it didn’t have the dog door. Someone put wrong door in box. Bad thing is I have to run an hour to store to exchange for right door. Don’t understand why they to send the proper door to Vineland store so I only have a 15 min run instead of the long run. It not my fault some one put wrong door in box. Very disappointed Home Dept !!!

Pet door
Pet door is to heavy for my small dogs. over the flap doors. I wished it had a way to prop it up. So I had to retro fit it to stay up & will need to put mesh screen in it.

The screws to attach the handle were missing from the packaging. Otherwise, it’s a very nice door. Also, be aware you’ll need to purchase a sweep for the bottom of the door. In my case, there’s a big gap.

Had the door for a couple of years now...
I need to replace it because the door broke in half horizontally when it was windy out (happened a few months after installing it). We have been using it, the metal frame kind of holds it together, but it is getting really bad now. It was ridiculous how easily this door broke in half - also, the mechanism at the top of the door should have been able to hold the door better from the wind. I like the 3 flap doggy door though - the flaps because is seals nicely. That being said, ours in now taped together because the seal that holds the flaps together deteriorated from one of the panels.

If your dogs are very small get a small doggy...

The door was easy to install and works well. My dog had trouble using the hinged lexan door at first because it was different and heavier than the vinyl dog door it replaced. She has it figured out now and is doing ok. My door did not come with instructions tho. I was able to download them from the emco site. I boughtb2 if these doors. One for a friend. It had instructions so I guess mine was an oversight. Overall very pleased.

We're chuffed.
Nice hefty weight, so it feels well-made. Took about two days for our pooch to figure out how to get in and out. We're very pleased with it and feel it will probably last longer than we do.
