Box Garden Work
This is the second cultivator I have bought from Earthquake. The 1st one broke the transmission housing after 4 very good years of service. The repair was going to be almost as much as a new one so it was a no brainer to purchase the 2nd one. I use it to till my 12' x 20' box garden and a few other areas. It is light, easy to use and easy to clean up. We have ground that is mostly clay and topsoil. This year I mixed in 40 cu. yds. of peat moss to aid in drainage. The Earthquake cultivator did the job without even straining. If you have a small are to till, this product will do the job. It also is easy to take apart for storage.

Powerful motor
I had the predecessor for the Earthquake called the lil' hoe. The Earthquake has a more powerful engine and sturdier frame but the same blades. It works great but after storage I have a problem restarting the engine. An electrical start would be a good addition.

great power
got this cultivator to break ground for a row of young lilac bushes i was putting in along a fence. it was a perfect choice because of it's small size. i did a ton of research on small cultivators with enough power to do just that. plenty of other smaller engined cultivators can only turn previously broken or loosened soil. this thing broke right through some colorado hardpan. after using it all day I was surprised by how little fuel it used even though its a larger engine than most. I also got the dethatching attachment for my yard and that was an easy change over and made an otherwise tough job easy.

This is an exceptionally well engineered piece of equipment for the price. The first thing I noticed was how light it was yet still felt sturdy. The next thing, it literally started on my first pull. I have multiple planting lots for my tomatoes, and I have just recently transplanted and am transplanting my seedlings to the ground. I was easily able to till the new locations for planting and in between the recently transplanted plants without injuring any of them. I've had multiple tillers/cultivators over the years, but I was surprised at how easy to handle or maneuver this was and how fast it got the job done. I highly recommend this Earthquake. It asked for an image but my work was done, so I posed a picture of a job well done.

Not very powerful. No ground breaking, only use as a cultivator.

This is a mini cultivator and is not designed to break ground. You would want to use a rear tine, counter rotating roto tiller to break grounds. This piece of equipment will do exactly what it claims to do, cultivate the ground. When used in this manner, it will do a great job! We do hope that you are happy with the product doing what it is designed to do. Contact Earthquake with further concerns or any questions you may have. Thank you, have a good day! Ardiasm

Good Little Unit
Very sturdy little unit. Perfect for smaller garden areas. Could use some improvement to aid in faster starting. Unit typically takes multiple times for the initial start (over 10 in most cases).
