Weeds still grew through the fabric even with bark laid over it. Threw the unused portion away. I was hoping the polyethylene would work better however it seems the holes were still too large. I've had better success with woven fabric.

We had a ring around a front tree that was simply clogged with weeds. We needed to fix it quick for a house showing, so we bought this fabric and some plastic pegs to hold it down. It was easy to work with, even having to use it in a circle. We weed whacked down to the dirt, laid the fabric, pegged it, and put 3 inches of mulch on top, as per the instructions. A month has gone by, and nothing has poked up! Yay! The squirrels dig through the mulch and get to the fabric and are like "whaaat" but they haven't succeeded in ripping it up. It was a great bargain and thank goodness- no weeds! (Oh, and one tip- if you are putting flowers in through it- don't cut an "X" and shove them in. Cut a hole the size of the pot. The flowers need the breathing room) (and PS- the green little bits in the mulch in the pic are just some downed tree branches, not weeds!)

Did not work for us on thin roots.

We removed the existing dirt and roots from two raised gardens, installed the barrier and refilled the gardens with Miracle Grow Vegetable Dirt. Within 12 months the roots had grown back thicker than before. The H/D garden guy said the roots were so thin that they grew back through the holes in the fabric. Attached is a photo showing the barrier folded back to show roots growing completely thought it.

We use this product in our produce garden bed. The weed block polypropylene landscape fabric was easy to layout under the dirt. It blocked all the weed from entering the bed.

Did its job..
Works as intended. It does block most of the weed but there are spots where weeds are coming through. Not sure if this is due to possibly leaving space when overlapping the material. Used it under 20x20 pavers.

In landscaping our side yard, the weedblock worked well not only in beds with shrubs but was the foundation for our new rock/stepping stone walkway. Easy to cut and overlap to create a blanket to smother grass and weeds before they have a chance in either the bed or walkway. Great product!
